Scott Summers is/was THE MAN! Smoking suckers on this monster thumper when little punks were still clinging onto their baby 2-stroke lightweight bikes! Sickness.

I was in a hare scramble in Ohio or PA in probably 95 or so. I was racing a cr125 in open class. U should see this guy fly by in the woods. One of my all time fave riders.
I bought an XR600 in '95 because of Scott Summers. You'd be suprised how well it handled in the woods. Stable, zero head shake, traction like a tractor and so easy to brake slide into corners because of the weight. Also because of the height it was a perfect "sit down bike". After riding that bike for several years I hated lightweight 250's. Scott Summers was no dummy, he knew something no one else wanted to even try.
I can't believe how fast he is in the woods, especially on an xr600 of all bikes. My shoulders hurt just thinking about fighting with a bike like that in tight woods lol
Does anyone have ANY footage of Scott Summers actually racing (video) the mighty XR600R?

@rainmanx63 absolutely right!!-
he also was my hero (beside johnny campbell) in my xr time !-
loved the dirtrider articles and pics with him!
the xr was one of the most underrated bikes here in europe!-
for me it was cheap, reliable- could do enduros, mx races and daytrips- all with one bike!!
wanna buy one again!
and i hink- he NEVER fitted on a bike that perfect like the old xr 600 !?
greets!
