  • Wayne looks like he got out of the shower to play on stage...

  • I wish I could have been born with Jaco's face and talent, but I'm just an average guy trying to pull the best of what Nature gave to him. Maybe I should feel grateful for not having Jaco's toumented mind ?

  • jaco man, ya'll have a nice day now, ya hear!

  • original lineup with Alex Acuna....supergroove bass line...clean and bright ...the legendary Weather Report tone and sound...WOW!!!

  • You can tell jaco's a southern boy just from that tone!

  • Grande versione. Questo è uno dei giri di basso che preferisco da Jaco. Specie le rare dissonanze, appena percettibili. Ma la versione originale mi rimane nel <3

  • this sound is trickery funk music of harlen rsrs ! Jaco is the expert of swing bass !

  • Jaco is the swing Bass Man !

  • Génial, for the moment it's my favourite WR video. The groove is perfect and the sound too!

  • Whoa. Thanks for the upload. Jaco is playing really focused here. Beautiful tone too.

  • It's really better to listen to this without watching them, not because they look unsightly, but because the music hits you that much harder if you're not concentrating on a visual.

  • the first time i have ever heard of this band are they any good ?

  • @blonde7000 HAHA!

  • It's funny coming from old WR videos where all the comments are like "Miroslav leaving was the end of WR", and all the music is like aimless jamming with no groove.

I have all their stuff, and occasionally I'll listen to the first few albums. But I constantly come back to this stuff. When Alphonso Johnson joined till the end of the Jaco lineup is some of the most beautiful, creative, fun music to listen to. When you balance composition and improv with groove and talent you get rare beauty.

  • Fantastico

  • Weather Report was the most popular and most influential JAZZ group of the 1970's for sure, and possibly of all time. This video is more evidence, as if it is even needed, for the reason why that was so. Uninformed, small-minded people with political and racial agendas will always attempt to minimize their greatness. Revisionists will never be able to erase Weather Report's musical legacy no matter how hard they try.

  • Everyone playing in this video looks stoned out of their mind. But they still make amazing music.

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaweblflahbflasbfsbflahbjlabba.ljk estaaaa sarpaaaaddodooouuuuuuu0000000000

  • Who's drummimg? Both him and Jaco got a smokin' groove going on...

  • @me1onhead Alex Acuña

  • @saxophile1 clearly you're a racist fkr who didnt "get" Weather Report...ignorance is bliss

  • damn !!! Where did u find this one !!

  • I hope the guy that gives to this thumbs down have Parkinson. There's no other explanation not to not like this masterpiece. I was never into drugs, but that would be an acceptable excuse for coke to enhance perception when listening Barbary Coast.

  • @gswzero jaja yeah

  • @gswzero perhaps someone switched his audio and he was listening to the Manhattan Transfer's version of "Birdland."

  • @jaygresh That would add insult to injury. I'll stick with Parkinson explanation :)

  • Just love listening to Wayne Shorter...wow! They're all great, Jaco Pastorious is killing it too. I don't know if the moog solo has stood the test of time, at times it sounds hopelessly dated, even silly...sorry Joe, RIP, but the piano chords are great though!

  • Love!

  • thats really amazzinnnnnnggggg !!!

    tahanks for sharing !!!

  • ..cazzo quanto son sciolti..

  • was this meant to be a study of facial expressions? The cameras couldn't have got any closer. Not enough Jaco. Great sound though.

  • mamma mia JACO!!!!!!!!!!

  • Some of the best playing I've heard from Wayne Shorter. In the zone.

  • Nobody has ever made music like this. Truly unique.

  • masters

    jaco groove

  • get ready to shake that fcker for nine minutes straight.

  • @drpepperjake123 BADRENAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
