I know. "Dog house" didn't sound right in English, somehow. "Kennel" would be the right translation, but unfortunately I didn't think of it in time.

Ah... I just checked Wikipedia's "kennel" entry and it seems that my instinct was correct. Here's why it wouldn't have sounded right: the phrase "in the doghouse" is understood but does not mean "in the kennel", rather it is a colloquial phrase meaning (of a person) "in trouble" or "being shunned".

...i was thinking of animating things by computer...but i obviously don't have enough talent to even draw with a tablet...less a mouse. i Think ill animate my story by hand now...much easier! btw i liked this short, and thanks for translating!

You can use a light shade of blue pencil lead to sketch each frame, then ink right over it - the blue won't show up when you scan them in greyscale or B&W, saving you the work of erasing the pencil lines before scanning. Dave's Mechanical Pencil Blog has a nice comparison of different kinds of blue lead, how erasable they are, and how "invisible" they are. Anyway, not sure what that has to do with this film, but I figured I could give some advice. :p

It's so refreshing to see real artistic talent put into animations again. Nowadays it's all done by computer and little to none of the hand drawn aspect of it is even used in the finished product.

Very lovely, I'm going to watch all these clips. Maybe even read the book if I can find it.

I think this was probably also done in the computer, at least partially. But if you have a nice tablet, often people can't tell that it's digital. i.e. look at my recent film "One Quiet Winter Night" (google search for it); a fair number of people thought that it was actual pastels or paint.
