I guess i dont take propay because it might decrease my sales. I do webhosting and today a client sent me 20 dollars so i went to paypal to confirm this and there it was. when i went back to my account the balance is 0.00 , no transaction records in the account everything gone this happened 12-15-11 i called them and they said if there is no transaction records there is nothing they can do... really there is no records because they removed them.

Sellers scam too. I bought 2 things from the same person Sept 30 off of Ebay, I'm still waiting to get one of them. I opened dispute in paypal seller provided tracking number for the one I received paypal closed the dispute. I appealed it they closed it again stating I received it. WELL I DIDN'T! I am out 160 bucks, seller wont reply to my emails so I'm SOL.

I was shocked when I purchased a $300 US Icom radio from the US when I live in Australia and our Aussie rate is $1.03US to $1.00AU I did the transaction through PayPal and there rate was 1.00US to 1.00AU. So I rang PayPal and complained, why don't you work off worlds currency figures? They stated that they use there own, . So they shafted me $10 in that deal and then they stated that they also charge 2.5% of total for currency exchange. All I can say is eBay and PayPal are just money grubbers.

eBay and PayPal have changed so much since I 1st started doing business with them. It use to be that you were able to pay with a money order on eBay, and when I 1st started I think they only were taking about 3% of sale. I was able to list a Magic The Gathering Card for a buck, and still made a little money (you can't do that now). One thing I will say about PayPal is that when I 1st started doing business with them, it was after my bankruptcy; and they were the only ones who gave me a chance.

Paypal is so crooked! I sold an laptop for 500$. The guy claims its broken, well its not i wrapped the thing in litterally 8in of bubble wrap all the way around. I didn't even know about ProPay til I started watching your videos, I haven't ever seen any seller who takes ProPay. From what I understand is you have yet to use PayPal your self, you can't just take other peoples word for how bad PayPal. I have yet to have a bad experience with PayPal. You get tons of free stuff, and you drum up more support , you will enlighten every seller you burn. I guarantee you will have more suppoort. Going through the same shit right now! Sold $4000 worth of merchandise in 3 days. One customer from the middle east requests a tracking number at 3am that day while I was sleeping then sends a dispute to Ebay imediately! WTF! SOOO, Ebay suspends my account without any question and PayPal seizes my money. In the mean time, my merchandise have already been sent out to multiple customers! Will they send it back? Probably not! Will Ebay refund me? Probably not! Will Paypal release funds? Who knows!!

Do you get any sales with propay? Ebay/Paypal are doing everything they can to mimick every one of Amazon's policies. The situation you describe is similar to the way Amazon handles an item not as described. On their site if the item is not as described, refund is issued and item isn't required to be returned. The difference is, buyers can have 5 lifetime claims and keeps their fraud down, and sellers make sure to describe correctly. Ebay never set that standard from the beginning.
FYI- a lot of seller prefer Paypal or say they only accept Paypal because they get 1.5% cash back on the Paypal debit card when they do this. That is why I do this in my auctions.

I think that IF a seller is listing anything under 30$, they are selling at a loss anyhow, not worth the bother on ebay considering the overhead and time. To make a living solely off of ebay, you'd have to sell at least 300$ daily. And each item should exceed 50$. That still would be a crappy income too. I would not bother to sell on ebay unless I made a gross profit of at least 200$ day, steady minimum. And that is very risky to do. I am still amazed that I can buy stuff under 10$ on ebay.

1.)Most people in the United States are legit and are not trying to screw you over.
2.)As long as you take pictures/video and use delivery confirmation you have proof of your item(s) and proof you did ship.
3.)I've tried selling without paypal and just about everyone would complain about me not accepting paypal as payment plus I don't like waiting for the money to come in the mail.

Sellers scam too. I bought 2 things from the same person Sept 30 off of Ebay, I'm still waiting to get one of them. I opened dispute in paypal seller provided tracking number for the one I received paypal closed the dispute. I appealed it they closed it again stating I received it. WELL I DIDN'T! I was shocked when I purchased a $300 US Icom radio from the US when I live in Australia and our Aussie rate is $1.03US to $1.00AU I did the transaction through PayPal and there rate was 1.00US to 1.00AU. So I rang PayPal and complained, why don't you work off worlds currency figures? They stated that they use there own, . So they shafted me $10 in that deal and then they stated that they also charge 2.5% of total for currency exchange. All I can say is eBay and PayPal are just money grubbers.

eBay and PayPal have changed so much since I 1st started doing business with them. It use to be that you were able to pay with a money order on eBay, and when I 1st started I think they only were taking about 3% of sale. I was able to list a Magic The Gathering Card for a buck, and still made a little money (you can't do that now). One thing I will say about PayPal is that when I 1st started doing business with them, it was after my bankruptcy; and they were the only ones who gave me a chance.

I sent it out after receiving payment through PayPal. The buyer claimed "item not as described" buyer returned his heavily used camera, at which time PayPal DEBITED my account. I was considering propay until hearing your story. Now I think I will continue ebaying, add more buyer accounts, and screwing sellers over royally. That's the way to go. One customer from the middle east requests a tracking number at 3am that day while I was sleeping then sends a dispute to Ebay imediately! WTF! SOOO, Ebay suspends my account without any question and PayPal seizes my money. In the mean time, my merchandise have already been sent out to multiple customers! Will they send it back? Do you get any sales with propay? Ebay/Paypal are doing everything they can to mimick every one of Amazon's policies. The situation you describe is similar to the way Amazon handles an item not as described. On their site if the item is not as described, refund is issued and item isn't required to be returned. The difference is, buyers can have 5 lifetime claims and keeps their fraud down, and sellers make sure to describe correctly. Ebay never set that standard from the beginning.

I think that IF a seller is listing anything under 30$, they are selling at a loss anyhow, not worth the bother on ebay considering the overhead and time. To make a living solely off of ebay, you'd have to sell at least 300$ daily. And each item should exceed 50$. That still would be a crappy income too. I would not bother to sell on ebay unless I made a gross profit of at least 200$ day, steady minimum. And that is very risky to do. I am still amazed that I can buy stuff under 10$ on ebay.

I just got screwed out of $140 today.
eBay took my money even though I have insurance for this item & filed before the eBay "item not received" claim.
Instead of waiting for insurance to pay out, as I marked the buyer as the one to receive the check, he wanted money now & knew he could get it.
The package could still arrive anyday, so he gets to keep my money, the item, and possibly the insurance check
I checked Propay & they say they only work with Powersellers, so I couldn't use it :(

And this fine print is NOT news to me, its NOT new Joe. But whats intresting is some of the user agreement that I MUST adhear to... has changed since I agreed to it. (Neat Huh?)

On the Up side. Paypal has been SLOWLY offering more protection for buys (Very Little but its there) Problem is to get it the rules are retarded. And remember redarding CC fraud in thier wording they will only follow up on cases THEY think they can win (Which is None)

I have my reasons for preferring paypal.
1.)Most people in the United States are legit and are not trying to screw you over.
2.)As long as you take pictures/video and use delivery confirmation you have proof of your item(s) and proof you did ship.
3.)I've tried selling without paypal and just about everyone would complain about me not accepting paypal as payment plus I don't like waiting for the money to come in the mail.

get this paypal took £13.59 out of my account last week and i emailed them they told me to call them . it cost me that much in calls just for them to say the mucked up. now if that is not a scam i don't know what is

My girlfriend too? Dam! Don't tell my wife Joe. Actually I'm not worried about getting ripped off cause I don't sell on ebay. I wouldn't dare send a valuable vintage collectible to anyone without having the cash in hand first. I'm surprised anyone dares sell on ebay. Mind you I'm glad they do cause I buy all the time. You asked me why I disable my ratings on youtube and it's for the same reason I would imagine many sellers hate DSR's. Btw, I hardly ever see propay as an option for some reason.

Man Joe, that is crazy! I found making them send it back prevented them from scamming the seller in the first place. I had 100% guarantee but they had to send me the item back. Amazing how many backed down when I told them that. I am so glad I got off of Ebay on May1, 2008. I will never go back. So glad to see you still making videos.

@CameoCollections Its a pity, I like Ebay but had to stop using them as they are so Paypal centric. Paypal are the greatest problem not ebay as such. I am amazed that your guy got through to anyone thats actually at paypal rather than the call centre in India.

The same thing happened to my brother in law. He lost his Bass guitar and $450. The buyer said that he never sent the bass, of course he did, he needed the money. But he never fot the money since Pay-pal withdrew it.
