However, there are some exceptionally talented students in Bangladesh who secure highest marks in O'levels and A'levels on an international scale every year, and there are people who're doing extremely well in university as well. Also, the quality of education in Bangladeshi universities is not always good enough, which is why many of us come to study abroad.
Also, there may be many who memorize, but it's not right to generalize.Many of us do understand and think about what we're being taught. Let's face it, you can't get too far when you memorize, and certainly not at university, where a lot of the material needs to be self-taught.

The pre-universitary educational standard is still not as high as it is in the West. I found Bangladeshi adolescents sometimes lack the independent, open, creative mind that is the seed of intellectual development.
I think what makes Deshi students wanted all over the world, is their desire to perform.
That is also what separates Deshi students from Western students.
In Holland, for example, it's very normal that for a engineering bachelor (which is normally 3 years there), a student needs at least 4-5 years. In fact, only 10% finishes their engineering study within the set time.
Also, it's very normal that people switch studies. Often because they find it boring or too difficult. In fact, a third of all varsity students switches to a different study at some point.
Haha, this must be in some extreme outskirt of Dhaka, because last time i went there, it was a complete disaster: total anarchy, jams and congestion everywehere.
And about the future of bangladesh... as long as nothing happens with the population size and density, the situation can not really get any better. population size/growth changes take place VERY slowly, therefore I don't see bd's situatino improve coming decades. Yes Bangladesh is a poor country. But the people in Bangladesh are in top of the index of the countries with happy people. We lead a happy decent life here. It's true ours is not as developed as yours. But believe me Bangladesh is progressing a lot quicker than many other countries. It's not that BD ppl are lazy or corrupted. Nature is not often with us, and often causes a lot damages to our economy. BD economy is within the 50 largest economy in the world. Give us 10 more years. We'll be in 20.

However, there are some exceptionally talented students in Bangladesh who secure highest marks in O'levels and A'levels on an international scale every year, and there are people who're doing extremely well in university as well. Also, the quality of education in Bangladeshi universities is not always good enough, which is why many of us come to study abroad.

Also, there may be many who memorize, but it's not right to generalize.Many of us do understand and think about what we're being taught. Let's face it, you can't get too far when you memorize, and certainly not at university, where a lot of the material needs to be self-taught.

I'm not saying the people are corrupt, or lazy. I have found they are generous, hard-working and hospitable. What I am saying, is that the country's systems and culture have become corrupted. It could've happened to any country, the overpopulation and poverty. But the situation is, that it is so in BD, and not in those other countries. That doesn't make BD a bad country, it makes BD a country in a bad situation. Which is no one's fault: it is as it is, and it's up to the bangladeshi to solve it

The pre-universitary educational standard is still not as high as it is in the West. I found Bangladeshi adolescents sometimes lack the independent, open, creative mind that is the seed of intellectual development.
I think what makes Deshi students wanted all over the world, is their desire to perform.

That is also what separates Deshi students from Western students.
In Holland, for example, it's very normal that for a engineering bachelor (which is normally 3 years there), a student needs at least 4-5 years. In fact, only 10% finishes their engineering study within the set time.
Also, it's very normal that people switch studies. Often because they find it boring or too difficult. In fact, a third of all varsity students switches to a different study at some point.

And about the future of bangladesh... as long as nothing happens with the population size and density, the situation can not really get any better. population size/growth changes take place VERY slowly, therefore I don't see bd's situatino improve coming decades. Which pains me incredibly, because it's a beautiful country and peoples

I used to travel there in 07 & 08 three times for business.
I had consulted this video prior my departure to Dhaka and i can say before that i was not so content abt were i was going.
Now i can say its a nice country with poor and very hospital ppl..

Yes, excessive population cases per capita encome to fall, but if you can growth with your population then your country is unbeatable, for example if you talk power , US having a population 15 times higher than Australia has world power that Australia does not have.. The amazing this China and India are growing super fast, even with high population, and will tak US as the biggest economies after some time.

Yes Bangladesh is a poor country. But the people in Bangladesh are in top of the index of the countries with happy people. We lead a happy decent life here. It's true ours is not as developed as yours. But believe me Bangladesh is progressing a lot quicker than many other countries. It's not that BD ppl are lazy or corrupted. Nature is not often with us, and often causes a lot damages to our economy. BD economy is within the 50 largest economy in the world. Give us 10 more years. We'll be in 20.

And i have found that rich people and high politicians are pretending the country is doing great, by isolating themselves from the misery: the govt. is spending money in luxury projects like huge shopping malls, fly-overs, which only help the rich, with money and cars. The prime minister's children are safely in another country. If BD is doing so great, what are all the rich people's children doing in foreign countries?
