Chet's looking down from above with a big satisfied smile and enjoying every minute I'm sure. I'm trying to learn this now and it's no easy feat (for me anyway, especially the on-beat H-O's).
Really good cover! im learning this at the minute, gotta play mine on an electric though doesnt sound as nice! You remind me a bit of Rolf Harris only much more talented :P
@FrostyMorn Actually, you made mine! I've been working on this Chet tune for years. Posted both versions of Chet''s rendition of this on my Chet Channel. I remember decades ago, when I first saw Chet play this on the old Mike Douglas show!
Then when i saw him live in concert in '89 it was the first tune he picked when he walked out on stage. I taped that concert on cassette and still have it to this day. But I love your playing, brother! You're like me. You play Chet, and you play
I wanted to leave you this earlier... first... and again... outstanding playing ...[just checking to see if anyone had mentioned that to you before]. Now onto the serious matter. The left index finger nor any ajoined finger is for quietening the blow of the hammer ;o) Best to you and yours... wishes for a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
You are very talented. I've just been getting into ukulele playing myself, and I voraciously study as many players as possible. It's a pleasure to watch your videos and the grace with which you move your fingers.
It makes me wonder what kind of a man you are, to be able play such things with such a calm expression, and the smile after you hit the harmonic. Surely you must have experienced a great deal to be able to play like this.
very very nicely done a pleasure to listen to. would you consider making an instructional video and show how you play this. i would really appreciate that as there no way i could figure that out by ear
well ive been playing for over 40 years but it would be a FrostyMorn in August before i played it as well as you do.davefrog100 check out my site on youtube
hey frosty, im learning this song too! i think you play amazing.. i relly wanted to know what you play when you go to the 8th fret (i think its the 8th)
Awesome playing. I'm wondering if it might not be worth muting the bass strings with the palm on that tune. I personally don't use the thumb pick anymore, to get that deeper bass feel, "thump thump."
real good job,you "can't" hear that classic sound like some of them dudes, which is a nice change,it sounds real clean ,real american, not spanish or european thats why your on the same with chester a.,ray t.,and tommy e. with the
Very nice. I'm currently trying to find a NS32ce for a bargain. I don't care about "pretty" so long as it is structurally sound. Bob Schneider plays one that is beat to death and it still sounds great. Thanks for posting.
I've listened to and enjoyed many of your videos! Would you call it Travis picking or Chet Atkins .. or someone else? Do you [or anyone out there] have advice for learning your style of fingerpicking? Many thanks!
Thank you for listening. This arrangement is by Chet Atkins and I try my best to emulate his right hand style here. At least in spirit. Travis picking, while also a fingerpicking style, is more driving in it's rhythm - I offer my recording of Farewell My Bluebelle as a comparison. Travis played with only the thumb and first finger of his picking hand. Chet's style requires thumb and two or three fingers and, in general, I would say is more articulate than the Travis style.
Beautiful as usual. But you seem to be playing in a bit different voice this time, maybe a bit sadder. I hope everything goes well for you and my best wishes.
Thanks very much, RT. It was rather late at night when I recorded this - perhaps that accounts for the voice! Or maybe I was thinking of the verse about Mr. Bojangles' long lost companion.

I do not have tab, since I learn mostly by ear. But I know there are commercial transcriptions available. Try searching Homespun or Guitarvideos.
