  • I always love these folks comericals. tehy were so dead pan and reading right off the cue card.

  • Video 8 - woah, hi tech! My first camcorder, in around 1989, was a Panasonic M7, full-size VHS job. I got some good quality with it, but I sure did get some funny looks, too :-)

  • My first videocamera was one of the two piece thingies. I had a Sears camera and a separate Magnavox portable VHS recorder. My Grandpa built me a bracket to physically join the two, which made it the size of a professional videocamera, not to mention about 25lbs! Talk about stares! I'm sure glad technology has shrunk these things considerably in the past 20 years.

  • Yeah, I remember those things, we had one in high school and used to have great fun with it. I think it was called a "porta-pak" - which in retrospect seems pretty funny, but heck, this thing actually ran on batteries, so I guess it was portable. You were supposed to sling the VCR over your shoulder but we used to wheel it around on a big tea-trolley with a TV (monitor) on top.
