@megapad100 Actually, Jesus did. That was Craig's point. There's the parable of the vineyard, where he identifies himself as the unique son of God. There's Mt. 11:27 where Jesus claims to be God's Son and to KNOW God. Then Mk 13:32 where he again identifies himself as the Son. Jesus was put to death for claiming to be divine, and God raised him from the dead confirming it was true. Sorry, but you can't call him just a prophet. He IS a prophet, and also God.

In this context, God is showing himself to be the Father of David in a representive way as opposed to a physical way. Begotten is not necessarily sexual, and can mean "Brought forth" or "Brought up". Adam was a mere man, whereas Jesus Christ is God and Man, and existed prior to Adam, and Adam was made through him. God bless you.

Which is to quote a lot of verses really fast out of context of both the text of Scripture that it's found in, as well as history. He is not a scholar of eitehr Christianity or Islam. He is very similar to Yusuf Estes or anything that seems to appear on the Deenshow about Christianity. It was things like those double standards, the lack of historical support that helped me see the light of Christ.

Again the difference between using the term Begotten or Unique is not a fight amongst Christians, simply your ignorance which is a result of watching Ahmed Deedat, and reading the Quran. However we do not believe that Christ is begotten in the same sense that he is produced, but simply that he eternally proceeds from the Father in the economy of the Trinity. In John 3:16 and John 1:18 I read it as "Unique"

@megapad100 Actually, Jesus did. That was Craig's point. There's the parable of the vineyard, where he identifies himself as the unique son of God. There's Mt. 11:27 where Jesus claims to be God's Son and to KNOW God. Then Mk 13:32 where he again identifies himself as the Son. Jesus was put to death for claiming to be divine, and God raised him from the dead confirming it was true. Sorry, but you can't call him just a prophet. He IS a prophet, and also God.

Both of which have not been changed we have manuscripts from the 2th cen onwards and are exactly the same as we have today. The oldest Koran is dated the 10th cen in T Turkish main LIbrary. Changing god's name doesn't change the history of those faiths.

Allah is not good, and he is unworthy of worship, and he is a false god. Muslims may not accept the New Testament, but Craig relied on sayings of Jesus determined to be historically accurate - unlike the garbage the Koran contains about him, which was written 600 years after Jesus resurrection.

@acepace86 You seem awfully proud. You mistake the Trinity for a Triad. The Father, The Son, and Holy Spirit are not several, seperate gods, they are one. Matter is also one, yet it exists in liquid, solid, and gas. Our God got killed by humans because he loved us. He offered himself up as a sacrifice and didn't resist. God loves us just for believing in him, but my parents are more loving than Allah since I need to do good things to get Allah's love, otherwise he hates me.

@acepace86 Obviously you don't understand the role of Jesus as "Son of God". Jesus is Son not physically, but in role. Same applies to the verse you used. In this context, God is showing himself to be the Father of David in a representive way as opposed to a physical way. Begotten is not necessarily sexual, and can mean "Brought forth" or "Brought up". Adam was a mere man, whereas Jesus Christ is God and Man, and existed prior to Adam, and Adam was made through him. God bless you.

1) God as the eternal, transcendant Source of (and creator of) existence e.g. "Father"
2) the Logos of God, i.e. God that is immanent and self-revelatory; manifested to men as a man e.g. Jesus the "Son" ...sorta like God's Sims character within our physical world
3) God as an indwelling Spirit that is life and energy-giving, who also acts analogous to the idea of a 'conscience' e.g. Holy Spirit

Hercules' birth involved copulation of Zeus and his mother; not the same for Jesus, who (as the divine Logos) incarnated. And what is your source on Hercules historically existing? And "ascended into godhood?" Uh...he wore a cloak (drenched in centaur blood & poison) which caused his flesh to burn, and after being burned to death on a pyre, Zeus turned him into a god. His wife killed herself.

Hercules was based on the mythical Italian shepherd Recaranus; he's not a historical figure. Hesoid writes of him in an epic poem, similar to Homer's Iliad; hardly historical. Plato writes of promontories named after him, in locating Atlantis. Tacitus mentions him in a claim by some Germans (who had an affinity for him) that he visited them.

Jesus also follows that of the typical archetypal hero and mary sue doing great things and being turned into legend. The comparisons of dying and rising gods before the jesus figure, and there are no records of jesus being crucified being written down by the romans or even writings by him who supposedly did miraculous things.

Even the eager believer must admit that Christ himself couldn’t have been at Rome then [since “he” was well and dead by Claudius’s time]. Which is to quote a lot of verses really fast out of context of both the text of Scripture that it's found in, as well as history. He is not a scholar of eitehr Christianity or Islam. He is very similar to Yusuf Estes or anything that seems to appear on the Deenshow about Christianity. It was things like those double standards, the lack of historical support that helped me see the light of Christ.

Again the difference between using the term Begotten or Unique is not a fight amongst Christians, simply your ignorance which is a result of watching Ahmed Deedat, and reading the Quran. Niether term is wrong or incorrect, in fact they are both right. However we do not believe that Christ is begotten in the same sense that he is produced, but simply that he eternally proceeds from the Father in the economy of the Trinity. In John 3:16 and John 1:18 I read it as "Unique"

If you had taken the time to study you would know the Greek word here is "monogenes". mono - meaning only, and "genes"- meaning type of. @acepace86 Deception? You mean facts! Craig uses blunt facts which his oppponent's always fall. Badawi is a prime example. As for Zakir, he talks like he is saying something, but is not. That's the difference from the bible to the quran. The bible is read and understood and the quran is read, not understood, and given it's interpretation by those who know it. Is there any reason why a lot of Muslims are coming to Christ? This is why the radicals use verses in the quran to justify their actions.

@acepace86 You asked if god was killed when Jesus was, in the Christian belief when people 'die' it is not the end or annihation of them. Their soul is eternal. And it's not 3 seperate Gods, it's 3 'conciousnes's' in one God. It's very hard to explain over a short youtube comment, but just cause you dont at present understand it doesnt mean it's false. There are plenty of books on the subject if you really wish to understand it more (: I could probably reference you some if you like?
