And for those of you who want to say that all of those people switched to the Republican party ----- The only two KKK members in the US Senate in the last 50 years were (and one is still there) are Democrats [Sen Robert Byrd WV and Sen Fritz Collins SC ret.].Yet African Americans vote Democrat 95%.

It's useless for Republicans to go to the NAACP convention. Most Afr-Amer are 100% close minded. 1. A higher % of Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1965 than Democrats. 2. Al Gore Sr. led a 73 day filibuster to stop the Civil Rights Act of 1965. 3.When you look at the VIOLENT reactions to the Civil Rights movement in the 1960's EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE OPPRESSORS administering the 'beat downs ' to the marchers WAS A DEMOCRAT. I agree with everything you've said and I remember all of the statistics you've added. Thank you. I just want them to say exactly what you've said, so we can get down to the bottom of this non sense and break through the percieved lies by some. I'm conservative and Non Partisan, but the values that have been expressed by the Republicans fit me best, now they they have to get their house in order, in order to get regained trust.

A few years ago Julian Bond called President Bush either a 'Nazi' or a 'Hitler;' the NAACP routinely comes out against every initiative put forth by the Republican Party; the organization, of course, is almost exclusively run by liberal black Americans...why show up to a convention where you truly aren't wanted? 90% of black America votes for the Democratic candidate - period. Jesus Christ could run as a Republican and - if only black America were voting - he'd lose.....

George Bush HAS gone to (3) previous Urban League conventions; if my mind serves me, he may have attended one NAACP convention. Yet, we BOTH know the Republicans will be trashed - it's just reality. Blacks, for decades now, have been told their prosperity lies with, and only, government programs. Conservatives blacks are either dismissed or ridiculed. I understand you are a Republican? How seriously, or supported, will you be taken in the African-American community?!?

I'm a Non Partisan and an Independent/Conservative Presidential Candidate. I could care less if I'm dismissed. When my children needed food and shoes not a single one of them was there to support me. Anyway My husband and I were on the Executive Committee of the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP for 2 years and lets just say it was an experience I would not repeat, but I would have gone to the Debate for the Greater Good. They tried to treat my husband badly because his skin is White. I debated Grand Dragon of the KKK David Duke so I'm not moved by arrogance, I let people hang themselves.

Condoleeza Rice has been ridiculed in the black press, cartoons with exaggerated racial features have been published; Clarence Thomas was featured on Ebony magazine with a 'hankerchief head' and was not even LISTED among 'The 100 Most Important Living Black Americans Today' that the magazine undertook a few years ago. In today's culture, if you're black - and a conservative - you, sad to say, are dismissed - period...

Our Republicans don't play the politics of race. They treat everyone equally as individuals instead of grouping people based on the color of skin.

That is not the question. I am a Conservative and although I believe their is a real effort to break down the barriers of race in the Republicans Party, with all due respect you cannot answer for what's in someone else's heart. So my question still stands to the Candidates. I am so glad you have shared your thoughts with me and maybe we will meet on the Campaign Trail in the future.
