where did u get the visor? also im starting my 3rd playthrough of mass effect 2 on insanity and im still on garrus recruiting mission and im stuck on shutting the door on the right im also engineer and can't get through it any suggestions?
Ah the cryo blaster! Great weapon. Used against the human reaper? Completely worthless. But I do love me the cryo blaster :] Id say that gun and the arc projector are my favorites. Although I do enjoy the flamethrower. Anyone try a Vanguard with a flamethrower? Yeah.....carnage out the assssssssss. xD
what do you say? warp ammo as a bonus power or take a defense power(barrier or get h shield boost) as a panic button and use my squadmates for squad ammo?
Even if you use Mordin only once after his loyalty mission, it's a good idea to buy his omni tool upgrade. IIRC the total cost of all upgrades bought with element zero is less than the amount of element zero you start the game with (assuming you've already beaten it)
I can see why you would use the avalanche but I find incenerate to be extremely useful against shielded opponents and armored ones as well. I haven't gone through with an engineer yet because it wasn't as appealing in the first mass effect but now that I just realized more than half of the enemies are synthetic in the first then I'm ok with it. I miss sabotage btw.... =(
Dunno if anyone's mentioned this but the Inferno armor gives a 10% power damage bonus aswell. I don't know if's still possible to get the Blood Dragon armor but if not then the Inferno armor is now available to everyone, it's part of the "Equalizer Pack" i believe.
I've used the Inferno armor with both my Engineer and Sentinel and it grants a noticable damage bonus to your powers.
So, Gatsby, I was going to go through ME2 on Insanity for the first time using a Sentinal. Would you think that Mordin & Grunt would be a good choice at that point still, or perhaps using someone with more biotics like Jack and Mordin or Jack with Grunt better? I know the one time that I went through ME1 on max difficulty, I was using the powers on my teamates insanely, and always picked the Power-based ones.
I used to use the avalance on my engineer but then reallized that Full Cryo Blast did pretty much the same thing. I haven't tried it on barriers but as long as you have atleast one squadmate with warp then barriers aren't really a problem.
When you get a chance in the game, you should just use Tali and Legion so you can get three combat drones. Also what is your feelings on the AI Hacking/Dominate, thought it was a cool idea to have hacked/control target being shot and also having combat drone causing mayhem.
I'll be using AI hack extensively on the levels where I can actually use it. I advise as an engineer to replace all the points put in incinerate with AI Hack on any level fighting geth or a large amounts of synthetics (mech factory N7). Incinerate is useless on synthetics, and one would never even need it because Overload is so much better on them. I'll be showing Tali's mission soon, so you'll see.
Dominate is cool. If you had to drop anything for it, I'd drop Cryo :(.
@padamibr A couple reasons: First I really wanted to show off Mordin's strength as a squadmate, especially with his cryo blast which I use pretty extensively. I think Mordin is underused and that Miranda is so good some players just take her constantly. Miranda actually had a pretty useless squad bonus at this point, because I maxed overload and warp first. Another reason is that I wanted to show that you don't necessarily need certain ability, i.e. warp, in order to take on protected enemies.

The avalanche can kill both scions (when you encounter 2) if you spam it. Pretty useful and a good alternative to using the i-win weapon aka cain.

Fucking love the avalanche

I wonder why you get Mordin to Horizon.
.
Miranda is clearly superior with Warp and squad bonus, no need to freeze everyone.
.
Well thats my opinion at least.

Also, the Avalanche is amazing against barriers, so as you'll see it kind of takes care of that issue.

Yeah I thought you should take him for reason outside the game.
.
I like him for the IFF mission.

Two incenarates = poor husks.

Very interesting!
Many players and guide authors write that cryo blast and the Avalanche cryo weapon are basically useless, but this video proves otherwise.
Also, engineers seem to die rather easily, so your advice on maxing out their survivability with the right armor choices is welcome.

Very useful tips. I appreciate you showing your N7 armor build too, quite beneficial!

LOVE the shoutout to heavy weapons. Very useful tip that you get +5 shots with avalanche when you get ammo. I never know how many to fire.
You should also mention how fast the ROF is on that gun. It's pretty swift.

What would be the best option to go for if you get rank 4 of the combat drone?

Ah, but then you miss out on the Geordi Laforge / LeVar Burton headgear. :<
