Really, I think the reason I fell in love with one of my fav. celebs, James Spader, is only because I loved 'Andrew' so much first! (And I had a crush on James Spader from 'Stargate' when I was like 12 years old!) Holycrap, beautiful men! :)

It's depending on the overall health of a person, not healthy in the long-run to be under hot lights for ext. periods of time. I believe that is partially the reason why John Candy, Divine, and John Ritter all died. John Candy spent half his life under such lights and with his weight this did not fare well for him. The overall stress led to the heart shutting down. Steven Gately of Boyzone is questionable other than he had a weak heart or family med. problems we knew nothin' of....

OMG, I had not realised he had passed on. Was quite shocked to realise he was only 48 when he died. Rest in Peace John.

He looked so healthy, it just does not make any sense how he could had died from heart failure and 47 is not very old? So sad as he was a great actor, but maybe God wanted him to serve as an angle of death.

i only just started watching touched by an angel fell in love with those three then cbs cancels it and all three della,monica,and andrew became like family even though we dont know them its the character and personality on the show and off that i've grown to love within a few months the only good show that was on RIP John Dye

Ashame I heard he died John Dye died today, and he was only 47, from a heart attack. He played excellent as Doc on Tour of Duty, 1987-1990, The series was inspired by the success of the film Platoon, in 1986.

I just read that John Dye died at the age of 47. I admit I wasn't a huge fan, I only really know him from "Touched By An Angel" and I think he was in the first StarGate movie. But he still did leave a good impression, as every actor should. I think it's appropriate that many people are used to seeing him as an angel because he probably is one right now.

@906087 I think you are thinking of James Spader for the character who was in the first StarGate movie (1995). Dye and Spader did look similar in their 20's and 30's.

Regardless, 47 is too young to die of heart disease.

I am just sick!! I was watching TV and just heard.  IJohn was oneof the first guys on my fashion board squad at Mississippi State Univ. I am just so sad to hear of his passing. I had so hoped to have a reunion with all of the former models during that time. Would have loved to see him just once more!

you may already know this, but John Dye passed away yesterday, Jan 10, 2011. He died from heart complications. He was a personal friend of mine, we are from the same town in MS and used to do summer youth theater together. He was so talented, and a gift to the lives he truly touched on and off screen. So for those of you who adored him...yes, you were touched by an angel.

@VictoryStarr07 tour of duty was my favorite show. hell its one of the reasons i joined the army.lol his character was my least favorite but that made him a great actor to pull off the perfect conscientious objector .the episode were he freezes and lets a fellow soldier get killed made you hate and love the character at the same time, he was such a talented actor.rip john dye aka doc hoc.
