  • Mercedes is quality. :)

  • i got one for christmas!!!!! but it need sum work gonna upload vids of its progress. sub if u wanna follow

  • Now here's a car with class. I've seen these cars go for less than five grand, which ain't bad for a Mercedes Benz. Too bad parts are more expensive than parts for my International Harvester pickup truck.

  • Beautiful beautiful car! That's real luxury! Like if you remember this same vehicle from Creepshow 2 XD

  • No offense but the American front bumper and headlights are just F***ing ugly

  • @tigrelle

Everyone says that :( Ive alweighs found them super attracitive. adds character

  • nigger wheels

  • @PiranhaJaw22 douchbag

  • @MrJcoyne77 what about douche bags? they're good for hygienic reasons.

  • @PiranhaJaw22 okay you little bitch I'll be real clear, don't be dropping the N bomb because you're safe behind a computer screen. Besides, how does a black kid feel when he reads that. Dont say anything online you wouldn't say to a mans face. To prove the point I'll say this, you're another web-entitled pussy.

  • @MrJcoyne77 My friend it's not a web-entittled pussy they are called KEYBOARDWARRIORS : )

  • Reclining rear seats??? If so, sexy.

  • beverly hills cop!

  • Pretty car, ugly wheels.....

  • My Grandpa had a petrol blue one (Same as this colour?) with white hide interior, it was a 1988 model and I have fond memories as a child sitting in the back :] still can hear the distinctive two-tone beeping of the sony stereo system when powering on. Great cars, Gearbox Died at 183,000 miles in 1999 and is still, to this day sitting in a mercedes specialists breakers yard :[

  • "tacky rims"? Those lorinsers are worth quite a bit of money

  • @justizZzZzleMcG666 High cost and / or brand name does not stop them from being tacky.

  • the 1979-1992 Mercedes-Benz W126 was assembled in

    Germany: Sindelfingen

    South Africa: East London

  • My father and I have one of these. It has currently run 207.000 km. Its V8 is silky smooth, and when you need the 240 bhp, the kickdown function does its job perfectly. All the details and the high quality leather interior makes a lot of the car, but its as well the feeling you get when you drive it. It feels like an engineering masterpiece, and it really is. Each summer, we drive it from Norway to Kiel (Germany) to fix everything that needs to be fixed. We just had it painted in original color.

  • @KongSkruf this is how a car like this should be owned. Respect Sir. Hope it lasts forever they are a joy to behold.

  • You have 126 likes

  • shit looks cleaannnnnnnnn

  • Get the Mercedes 16-ovals alloy wheels buddy, only those are the real deal for this ride. Otherwise great car, love the leather squeak it's louder than the hum of the V8 engine.

  • The first car I ever rode from the hospital :D If it's black, it would be like the mafia, and like "move over poor people!!" LOL!! Like Jeremy Clarkson said

  • Ugly Chrome On The Wheel Arches Makes It Look Cheap.

  • I Love THe Colour! Ours Is A Brown :)

  • awesome video , i wish the driving part was longer !!

  • What a wonderful car, thanks for the video! I have always been a M-Benz fan

  • Lovely car. Alloys are a bit tacky though, I'd go for something like the originals. Not too sure about the chrome on the wheel arches either - perhaps thats a New World thing? :D

  • *The mirrors have electronic adjustment* "Oh, my 1988 Jeep Cherokee Limited has that too. *electric head rest adjusts* :O ... Oh my god...That's some classy shit right there...

  • Early high-tech car in because of electric-operated seat-belts, seats, side mirrors etc.

W126 is the best saloon car ever in the 1980s

The best car in S-Class series!!!

  • Thanks alot pal, you just HAD to post this video to remind me that I should've kept my 1986 420SEL that I just sold 4 months ago w/325K miles on it. Yeah buddy, I miss that car, but at $3.37 a gallon (in Orlando, FL.) I don't miss it THAT badly. The 126 chassis was a wonderful car. The limousine like space in the rear was amazing (and the car was shorter than a Deville or Towncar which had no leg room in the rear like this car did). To stomp on the accelerator to pass was like asking for warp 8!

  • Very nice, I had a 500SE in the mid 80s and I loved that car. Only car I ever liked more was my aunts 560SEC. Any of the S class back then was just perfection. You have a great example of some of the best cars Mercedes made. They dropped the ball for a while in the 90s. Hopefully they are dedicated to making the best cars in the world again.

  • I the long wheelbase Diesel version of one of these, The SDL. I had almost forgotten just how damn pretty the interior of these cars is. Mine was a joy, would go over 600 miles on a tank of Diesel, comfortable and sweet to ride in.

  • the wheels are horrible

  • Amazing car - the wheels were boy racer, terrible on that car - good choice to relace them with originals.

  • 1984 and it has an airbag? =)

Those US spec headlights are ugly.

  • @sekopiski

Finally someone mentioned this. If I bought one of these I would try to find proper European headlights for it. Greatly improves the look of the car.

  • @sekopiski air bags origianlly came out in 74 look it up but weren't widely implemented in autos(highend) till the 80s

  • nice! But hate the wheels!

  • i like the carpets at 0:34 :)

where can you get somethin like this ?

  • If you bought euro headlights your car would love you forever.

  • i have a 95 and they hardly changed anything in it from this one

  • yea man get some chrome wtf u sittin on

  • hell yea the 605 freeway

  • it's really class & beautyful, thanks for the ride .

  • worst buzzer ive ever heard

  • @andyass3 yeah buzzer is pretty anoying, but I don't mind as long as the engine starts quick

  • One W126 fan to another, the car looks really good. All you need to do is get rid of the little circular mirrors on your mirros and repaint the instrument cluster needles.

  • Everyone high almost 2 meters like me, must be happy seeing a rear seat space at 0:52

  • so many noises where you're sitting

  • nice car! where can i get some wheels like that for my 91 420sel?

  • Hi, nice car! I am seeking one of those here in Argentina, a SE500, but I wonder about the fuel consumption, is that so high as people say. For instance, how much fuel you use when you run at 130km/h, around 70miles per hour. May you tell me please?

    thanks.

    Gustavo.

  • absoulute beauty.

  • Very very smooth car. Unfuckingbelievable condition. Nice rims. The engine is so quite. Beautiful ride.

  • why is the bling bling wheel???

  • perfect car for serial killer

  • ditch the nasty wheels

  • junk the nasty wheels

  • nice!!!!

  • I'll hazard a guess that you have had a problem with people walking up to you and offering to buy your car from you while you're out and about with it.

  • Mūčija grazuolį

  • John Gotti had a 500SEL. Rumor has it they could pack 5 to 6 bodies in the trunk. I have a 1985 500 SEL Euro from Lotar Machanbachar, the factory Mercedes racer, & the freekin' trunk is huge!

  • crap wheels

  • @georgandishellas I actually agree. I have finally replaced it with original wheels. I'm surprised it now rides even quieter and smoother!

  • @LAdweller too bad let it ride rough LOL

  • @georgandishellas Good that you put on orginal wheels! :)

  • This is Mercedes-Benz 500SEL US-spec right ?

  • @BlackLegendIII

Right. You can tell that because of the speedometer calibrated in MPH.

  • no word can explain how proud it feels when driving with your eyes staring at that nice mercedes star emblem!!

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...

  • dad had same car even same color as yours. was a dream car and loved it. very aggressive too.

  • maffia ride of the 80's

  • @jeffrey727 thats right! I remember one of the mafia guys had this exact same looking benz in early 90's, this is when everybody else was driving LADA and the best second car you could see was Ford Escort and we use to call them imports, cause nobody knew what it was! lol What a time it was, this Benz is a pure beauty in my eyes and I'm so happy that someone's still appreciate this beautiful classic! Long live to your car mate!

  • i dont like the seats because it rides up and down when you go over anything

  • You gotta love that tank-thud sound when you close the car doors

  • a sign of a good quality build IMHO

  • Damn i would like to have 500SEC/560SEC! My dad has this w126 300SD which is imported from california and it's awesome, though a bit powerless

  • Just bought one this morning!

  • 126...

    is an ICON!!

    F..ing nice car!!!

  • how much litres ?

  • 5.0

  • american version

  • 1984 you said? shit! this car in in mint condition! Lovely!

  • Cool car where so you stole it? J/K J/K J/K

  • Lovely car, nice color...those must be Lorinser wheels which are now vintage themselves. I would remove the chrome wheelarch trim as it can be a rust magnet. I also see it is an airbag car, which I believe was standard in USA W126 from 84+. I once had a W126 300SE, great old car, similar color (DB355).

  • What an excellent car! Takes us back when Benzes were real Benzes, built to last.

  • Wow, yes great car, and not just: Engineered Like No Other Car in the World. It's build like no other!

  • nice ride! I have an '87 560 SEL and it's so fun to drive.

  • Gorgeous W126..........engine and transmission sound sweet.

However, please lose the bloody chrome wheel arches - they look awful (not to mention they trap moisure and cause the wheel arch metal to rot).

Would look better too with a set of the original '84 alloys - these are obtainable (and you could easily part exchange them).

I know it's all down to personal choice but I just believe that a Classic Merc will always looks better if left to the same specification as it left Stuttgart!

  • I agree. With a car like this you must keep it as origonal as possible.

  • nice merc

  • beautiful car... :O)

  • kanker mongool

  • I love the sound it makes when you sit inside!

  • This sound is present at all movie :D

  • Quite nice, I like it better original.

But loose the chrome at the fenders. You never know if water comes through and then it rusts.

Besides that... the W126 is one of the very best mercedes ever!

  • what a beautiful car! You obviously take great care of your car! One day i hope to have a 500SEL

  • Classic !! I love dis S man ! dope car :X

  • doesent look long base looks like you just made it zoom in and wide screen

  • its easy to its a SEL, backdoor is equally long as the front doors

  • oh i c

  • I love that car, man!! It is a classic Merc strong as a rock.

  • One of my favorite Benz's ever built. Will remain an all time classic

  • My 89 420 SEL has that same great quality, built like a tank, reminds me of the 56 Chev I had w. 350 block etc. powerful yet refined lol

  • just listen to the sound of the door opening . it's just sublime . true mercedes-benz quality . the last car they made with the customer in mind not money

  • Quite. They weren't at all concerned about making money when they built this car; they were performing a public service, really. As a matter of fact, they gave cars away for free back then. Not very many people know that.

  • u should of recorded the gauges

  • The S-Class Mercedes was produced in Sindelfingen, Germany...

  • You are correct. The riveted plate on my door jam says "MFG by Daimler Benz AG, Stuttgart" but I believe that's the location of the headquarter, not the final assembly plant. Thanks.

  • Tank.

  • I hate the new lights looking triangle shaped same as any honda etc.

They should have kept the oval/curved design and just updated it.

  • Like those crunchy lether seats!!:)

  • sel

    s für s-klasse

    e für einspritzer

    l für langversion

mit eienm sl hat das nichts zu tun

  • Wow what a car!! I can assure you,if mercedes continued to make durable rugged cars like this one, they'd probably be out of business by now because these cars would last too long to replace.

  • thats why they stoped :)

  • I thought s stood for saloon. If that is the case what does SL stand for in 500SL

  • The S in SL stands for Sport. (The L stands for Leicht)

  • ok. so i have an 85 500 sel. can i put newer syle s class rims, say s500 2001 wheels, on my car without using spacers???

  • Sorry for the late reply. I think you cannot use the newer style S-class rims because the offset is too extreme. I remember seeing some where in the BenzWorld forum a rule of thumb: any MB rims of offset ET25 or less will work nicely. For example: the original 15-hole s-class rims for the W126 is ET21.5 offset.

  • shum e bukur

  • I had the 560 model of this car... MAN I miss it! For anyone who has not driven/ridden in one, you can easily do 80mph without knowing it on the highway. The ride is ridiculously smooth, the cabin is GORGEOUS, and it seems as though absolutely everything is there specifically for driver/passenger comfort.

  • These cars look so damn nice.

  • I did not know the 1984's had auto head rests. This car was way ahead of its time

  • Smooth as silk. Nice wheels, Lorinser?

  • i got my 500sel for sale 9.5k if ur interested message me.

  • what menas SEL?

  • S = S-Klasse, E = Einspritzen (fuel injection), L = Lang (long wheel base)

  • hoffentlich kann ich mir noch so ein tolles auto besorgen bevor die erdölvorräte zuneige gehen.

  • najs ride... bad camera man ;)

  • Very Nice! :-)
