@sunberst1: Thanx for the comment ! It's right, there is no Jerry Scheff on Bass. But it's Emory Gordy Jr. who played the Bass for Elvis in 1973. Especially Elvis stopped wearing Capes after June 1973-Tour. In 1974 he never wore a Cape on Stage. So the Clip must be from 1973. In 1973 Elvis wore the Aloha-Eagle-Suit - except for the Aloha-Shows - 5 Times. With the blue Cape only 3 Times: So the Clip must be from April 30, 1973 (Denver), June 27, 1973 (Cincinati) or July 2, 1973 (Oklahoma City).
@BurningLove1977 Oh yeah your right! I forgot about Elvis not wearing the capes in 74 and on. I can't believe I didn't pick up on that! lmao Plus he is still a bit more slender here than he was in 74 now that I watch again. Anyway, great clip!! Thanks. :)
i was directly invovlved in geting the suit back to graceland from the international hotel..i called graceland pleading them to return the suit back to g land ..AND THEY DID ..for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im not sure that the suit is the same as in hawaii. Because in graceland there is another very similar suit like aloha's. I think that Elvis wanted similar suit and wear that after hawaii. Correct me if I'm wrong :)
There were two belts made for the two jumpsuits used for the Aloha From Hawaii television special. The first suit was worn during the January 12, 1973 rehearsal show and the other suit was worn during the actual telecast on January 14, 1973. The suit he wore on January 14, 1973 is the one where he took the belt off and gave it to a lady in the front row at the concert. There was a third 'Aloha Bald-Headed Eagle Jumpsuit' made in the later months of 1973 due to Elvis's weight gain.
Elvis is wearing what is known as the Aloha suit, The suit was given this name because he first wore it on the legendary Aloha From Hawaii concert in january 1973. The show is famous because it was the very first live by satellite, and was watched live by over one billion people. To date, an unbroken record!
Great clip, it's from 1974 Duke B. is on Bass who filled in for Jerry during the 74 tour.
