  • Flexion of the spine during this movement is not bad for the spine, because the force is applied from the front. This is not a Good Morning or a Squat. On the contrary an arched back is the red flag here because it means you have lost frontal tension. This is one of the best ab exercises and builds tremendous bracing strength. That strength protects the lumbar spine during lower-back heavy movements.

  • the only thing wrong is flexion (during the up phase) of the back/spine is bad form so this is a bad exercise tool just letting people know. although if this is probably perfect form for the apparatus its a bad movement altogether

  • @MsNightisday Train hard and it will pay off. Get stronger: do squats, do deadlifts, do pull ups.

    it's a bodyweight exercise, doesn't matter if you're 130lbs or 230lbs...same strain for everyone :-)

  • @inkslingersunion Keep training and one day you will be able to do it. It took me 3 months and 2 injuries :-) to fix the technique, and build the strength.

  • That's crazy... In the video it seems as though you don't exhale on the come up. Try doing the exhale instead of holding it in when you come up, I think you'd crank out a few more no problem.
