Im looking to get a vision and I play mostly rock music at an intermediate level does anybody know which one I should get? just the vx or the vbx, vbx, vbl?
@Zakx2896 Depends. VBX has a 6/8 shell composition (6-ply on the racks and 8-ply in the floor toms and bass.) VBL has all 6-ply and as far as I now the finish is different (I don't believe VBX has a laquer finish, but I could be wrong.) Do some research and you'll find what you need. I know for a fact though that I am going with VBL.
@Zakx2896 Personally, I think that there isn't any benefit. I think that they should've kept the 6/8 ply composition. It adds a little more depth and attack to the kick drum and floor toms.
@drummer4life54 iits not his sig snare, t's the sensitone snare drum. It comes with most of the pearl sets. There are vision snares but you have to buy them separately.
From my experience with Pearl, no drum company beats their level of quality. They are simply the best. Their hardware rules, It's sturdy and has high end features. Pearl is what I started with and will continue to use.
@ilovesabian1n1 its the entry level drum set from pearl and pros normally dont use it but in some occasions they do see watch?v=b-KESMvx9Ok proof that entry level doesnt always sound as cheap as people think =)
@ilovesabian1n1 its intermediate but i guess considered more as an entry, but my ban class has it and it still has the stock heads and it sounds beautiful, and the snare really is sensitive, just a little too much ring
@HeyImJonah I love the Pear Export Series even though they discontinued them. But the Vision drumset is actually the Export Series. They just changed the name and upgraded the shells. But the Export Series was not really discontinued they just changed the name and made the drums more durable.
I have the Vision Maple, it's the baddest kit Ive ever played on/purchased, and Ive played high end DW's, OCDP's, you CANNOT beat the price. The toms are loud and warm and simple to tune, the kick drum litterally shakes my walls in the guest bedroom.
u can get a vision set uhhh vsx or vx with 900 series hardware great snare and many different kits of your choice like 3 tom toms or 2 floor toms whatever u know plus good scratch that great sibian symbol kit with stool and some extra stuff for around 1500 best deal on the market no question!!!!!!!!!
his approach to rudiments is unique among other drummers. im not a particularly big fan of the music morgan and his band play but i do admire him for his technique. that snare drum sounds RUDE.
hey guys .. plz reco me a good set of drums .. Vision VBX or Tama superstar ?? .. if isnt both of these im going for the superstar custom..wats the diffrence between the custom and the standard anywaY??
this drum set BAD ASS when i bought it i told myself this would be nice set when i played it i realized i was wrong, this et is awesome, the best thing of this set is the sound of the toms, it sounds like it doesnt need to be mixed. BELIEVE THIS IS THE BEST SET YOU CAN BUY
It's a matter of preference. I've tried both mapex and pearl. And mapex are great drums, but personally I like pearl better. For their hardware and their sound.
If you use the IMS mount, like on these drums, you should remove it every time you break down your kit and mount it on a different spot on your tom, cuase it tends to bend the hoop if you leave it in the same spot for very long, especially if you hit really hard when you play.
mines ivory , its pretty shitty so iim changin it to like silver glitter or some other shit. ZooYorkUK: id recommend
something like remos probly'd go with coated emperors just cuzz they last long and sound pretty good, or black suede, they might be expensive but they really have a distinct tone to them.
well it depends in the sound, references are blended shells were as visions(exclude the vx and vsx) are either 100% birch or 100% maple. quality wise Reference > Visions if you want Reference quality birch or maple go to the masters premium drums.
i have a pearl vbx and it sounds really good. the only thing that i found to be bad about my kit is that the heads it comes with sound like shit!! (at least for my tuning preferences, which is fairly tight.)
I found that the heads tend to resonate a little too much for my taste, especially the floor tom, I think I can take dumps that sound better than that. so what I would recommend for anyone that buys a pearl vision is to order new heads at the same time you buy the drumset.
That snare sounds awesome, but is also very compressed in the mix. The sensitone is not a great snare unless finely tuned to perfection. Iv'e had one...
i have this kit and i love it but the only thing that i dislike is that the floor tom is mounted on my ride..... the tone and sound of it is perfect, but it does fall off on occasion (rarely). is there any way to alter my floor tom so thats its on the floor? (it is relatively small not much bigger then my hi tom so i dont think that legs are an option.
make sure that a leg on the stand is directly underneath the tom to stop it falling forward, and try to make the legs as wide as possible to stop it toppling over the side.
i have this kit too, i have the vbx. i love it so much, makes a real difference when you put some new heads on it and get it in a good room for sound.. that sensitone is the best sounding snare i have ever had,i lvoe it its sound is unique..
ty wow i didnt know that about da manufactring stuff cool im probabbly gonna go wit da vmx not cuase well their made in taiwan but ive heard the sound and it sounds so close to what the professionals use and i mean really close
you guys are all assholes i have hade these drums since december and they are a lot better then perefetional drums i have have played get a good tuning a evans eq pad and emad and you are ready to go what morgan just showed you is the real thing.
I like the tone of the export better, but I really want the peral unilock. The thing is my drums have all black hardware. Anyone know where I can get pearl unilock in all black?

also for the kick a head like the aquarian regulator resonant head, and the drums are also miced in this vid if you're looking for a sound like it, so that could affect it. The visions come with 2 ply heads so you shouldnt need dampeners.
Probably get a new head. The metal sound I reccomend Remo Powersonic, Evans EMAD 2, and Aquiarian super kick 2. Also for the echoes put a pillow or blanket in there. If you want it even more damp port your front head. If you want the loud sticky atack, with the head get a click pad. The ones with metal inside.
no you shouldnt. definitely start out with something cheaper so if you realise its not your thing than you dont have to worry about wastin so much money. you should definitely try to find yourself a good pearl export series i know the kind i have is discontinued but i dont think all export brands have been discontinued. there around 700$ for a 5 piece kit and they sound great and look nice. its the perfect series to start out on
no man. ive been playing for five years and im still beating the shit out of my forum. i desperately need a new kit but the only issue for me is money.
the hardware is the bass drum pedal, the hi-hat pedal, the snare drum stabd, and two cymbal stands. it doesnt come with any cymbals. you have to buy them seperately. i recomend sabian b8 or zildjian zht if your just beginning drums
zht pro pack come with a pair of 14 inch hihats a 16 inch crash and a 20 inch ride. They should sound good. I say it's worth the price for that set of cymbals
zht pro pack come with a pair of 14 inch hihats a 16 inch crash and a 20 inch ride. They should sound good. I say it's worth the price for that set of cymbals
this is probably a stupid question but i want to get into drumming and someone recommended I look at the vision series as a beginner set. I read that all hardware is included. What does that mean? Does it come with any cymbals?
I love Morgan...but how obvious is it that he's reading a script? xP

Well,
VMX (maple) is made in taiwan, with all the master series, reference, etc.
VBX (birch) is made in china, with all the lower class drums
Dont get me wrong, birch is still great.
But Birch has a punchier, faster attack.
Maple is a warmer sound, and all VMX sets come with a matching maple snare.
but the steel vision sensitone snare is good.
They are both great kits.
especially for the money.

soz. when i say hi-hat pedal, i mean hi-hat stand
blender364 3 years ago
the hardware is the bass drum pedal, the hi-hat pedal, the snare drum stabd, and two cymbal stands. it doesnt come with any cymbals. you have to buy them seperately. i recomend sabian b8 or zildjian zht if your just beginning drums
blender364 3 years ago
ok cool thanks for the info. How do those cymbals sound? Even though i am a beginner, I dont want cymbals that sound like shit

dude, those are A Customs, if your a beginner, you don't deserve them

zht pro pack come with a pair of 14 inch hihats a 16 inch crash and a 20 inch ride. They should sound good. I say it's worth the price for that set of cymbals

this is probably a stupid question but i want to get into drumming and someone recommended I look at the vision series as a beginner set. I read that all hardware is included. What does that mean? Does it come with any cymbals?
Bonnaroo10klmf 3 years ago
I definitely recommend these drums to anybody. I just bought them, and they are fantastic. The sound is great.

call these stupid questions, but two things....
1. is the vision series a combonation of the session and export series?
2.why did they discontinue the session and export?
someone please comment me back

I think they have quality of Session and prize of export, they replaced these two levels with this for intermediate drummers and students..
