@juarezdaking Still the best? really? 34-29 over the last 5 seasons? Never even won their division in the weak ACC in 8 seasons? 1-4 in last 5 bowl games? Still the best? OK
Lets see, Canes 5 Gators 3. National Championships that is. And look at the NFL, the U not only represents the success Miami has had in college, but also the fact that they are the best football factory for the NFL, period. And if the Gators are the new U, then why dont they have the balls to play Miami every year? Took them off their schedule in 87 because they just couldnt hang. Canes will always be the U.
@umcane79 "took them off the schedule because they couldn't hang"??, you realize Florida beat Miami in 1971, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 82, 83, and 85...right. Its been 24 years since Florida took Miami off the schedule.....don't you think its time to get over it? I love Miami and I'm proud of their past championshps and NFL talent, but live in the NOW....not the WAS. Miami is mediocre at best. Florida has 3 NC's in the last 15 years. Florida has the most wins in college football since 1990. fact.
@TheKassicRock Miami was 41-66 for the 1970's ...no bowls from 1967 to 1980....tell me something I don't know. Florida also beat Miami 82, 83, and 85. Miami actually wasn't very good anything before 1980. Bowl record from 1926 to 1980....3-5.
and for the record, no offense to my favorite team in the whole wide world that i love more than anything (ohio state) but the miami hurricanes are a dynasty. which i am jealous of. college football was hit by a hurricane. gators need more rings if they want to start talking about them. The hurricanes have alot of potential, and they're new coach are going to help them reach it. they are talented. the miami hurricanes will always be THE U and the gators will only be gators
@WODEAL94 No Gator ever wants to be called "the U".....just doesn't happen. Florida has been the premier team in Florida for some time now. Miami has become irrelevant in college football. Miami has been mediocre at best for the last 5-7 years. Miami has been in the ACC for 7 years and has never made it to the ACC CG. They are 1-4 in their last 5 bowl games. ***the U....is a nice catch phrase....just like roll tide, go Gators, Hook em horns...etc. I love that catch phrase....its a good one.
um in not a gator fan or hurricanes fan what so ever, i actually dont like any of them, im a fan of ohio state. so u cant say im being bias wen i say this soooo the gators cant be the u. they just cant, "The U" is always gna be the title for the miami hurricanes. its not an award its a title. what do you see on the miami hurricanes players helmet? a U. what do you see on a gators helmet? a gator. so its impossible that the gators can ever be the U.
@WODEAL94 "the U" is not a title...its a catch phrase....are you telling me that if Miami changes their helmets in the future they won't be the U. Of course they will....has nothing to do with whats on the helmet. Bama has a number on its helmet...Penn St has only a stripe....Notre Dame has nothing on its helmet. Where the heck did you get the helmet thing from?? funny.
Just wondering how can ppl still consider the Gators as Miami rival? FSU is a rival bc they faced Miami every year even when they werent in the same conference, unlike the Gators who faces Miami 2 or 3 times then chooses not to play them until another 5-15 years.
@Bxfinezt91 Florida and Miami are still a rivalry based soley on there history and location in Florida. You are right though. Florida/FSU and Miami/FSU are much bigger rivalries. Florida and FSU are so close in location and have such a great rivalry. FSU and Miami are now in the same conference and have a great history of close games decided by last second field goals. I still would consider Florida/Miami a rivalry though.
@Bxfinezt91 You do realize that Florida played Miami every year from 1938 through 1987 right. Do some homework before you throw out a comment. Florida dropped them from the schedule when the SEC expanded and required SEC teams to play 8 conference games. Just a couple of facts for you.
Receivers/tight ends....advantage MIAMI. Andre Johnson, Michael Irvin, Eddie Brown, Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne, Jeremy Shockey, Bubba Franks, Kellen Winslow, Lamar Thomas, Leonard Hankerson, Greg Olsen > Ike Hilliard, OJ Small, Percy Harvin, Jabar Gaffney, Reche Caldwell, Andre Caldwell, Travis Taylor, Ben Troupe, Chris Collinsworth
@thegatorguy111 Theres only one "[]_[]"!!!!!Got it!!!When you guys can get by Bama maybe you will get to 5 rings! Its the STATE OF MIAMI GOT IT!!!!!Florida is not the "[]_[]" they are "BAMA'S BIATCHES!!!
@Canesnumber1stunner Florida has met Alabama 7x in the SEC championship game. They are 4-3 in those 7 games. Alabama has a really great team and I hope we get another shot at them. Florida is the most successful team in the state and has been for the last 5 years and has dominated the SEC for 20 years. Miami has a great past history and has a good team this year. Maybe Miami and Florida will meet in a bowl game....wouldn't that be cool. Go Gators!!
@knightguy11 I doubt it'll be Florida from the East. After seeing how good of a team USC can really be I think they will win out the East. Florida just isn't producing on offense or defense. I think the winner of the LSU v. Auburn game is going to be the one to win the West. Alabama just isn't in a situation to repeat with such young players now coming onto the team.
@DMB206 That is a possability. I don't see Bama losing to either Auburn or LSU. So I think Bama will win the West and of course the winner of the Florida/South Carolina game will win the east. You must remember that South Carolina played the best game of their life Saturday. Florida can beat the Cocks. I guess we wait and see.
@Canesnumber1stunner Florida got by Bama in 08'. Florida is 4-3 vs Bama in the SEC Championship Game. They have had UF's number the last 2 years. I love Miami...I just don't like idiot Miami fans like yourself. Go Canes, I'm rooting for UM to win the ACC this year.
oh Gators , gators I really hope your team can back it up in the years to come , trust me as U ! fan is hard to watch this but is even harder admitting that your team needs alots of work... this mean you're probrably going to do great or you going to stumble since most of your stars players are gone . Just remember Gators fan every team has their chance at greatness
@jclee42 You are entitled to your opinion and if you think the canes are the laughing stock , well let it be but I sure don't believe it , and there millions nation wide that respect the University of Miami for who they are not for what you think ... either way I'm not worry about the Gators , all I care about is the Hurricanes and their progress ! .
@jclee42 you wouldn't be saying that back in 2000-2001 when miami was winning all the time. you just wait, they'll be back to championship form. miami will always be the "U"
@jclee42 i'm a gator fan and i can say that's false. do u know how many players from miami play in the nfl and actually play. in the 80s and some of the 90s, miami dominated. that's what intensified the rivalry between miami, fsu, and florida because all three teams were hot then. football is like a circle like bowden says and i agree with this.
@jclee42 u start out bad, u get good and u go back to where u started. i hate to say but eventually florida will fall. i hope not but it will most likely happen. besides, after this past year and the way miami played, i can see miami is on the rise
20 years???Lmao....it will take 40 years for Florida just to achieve and get to Miami's 5 NC's titles lol.....watch out....Alabama owns the SEC now ;-)
@jgatorful Shut the fuck up. You feel like you're the greatest thing on earth because you beat us once. Wow. I can't imagine how much shit you would be talking if you were like us and won 6 in a row over you guys from 86-04 (2 of those being bowls). Try having an undefeated season. Oh that's right..it's never happened. When you have 5 and put out players like Johnson, Wayne, Irvin, Portis, Kelly, Lewis, Beason, Vilma, Taylor, Wilfork, Sapp, Reed, Kosar, Testaverde, James, Anderson, etc then talk
@odoylerules1231 Hate to tell you buddy but Florida beat Miami 7 years in a row from 1971 thru 1977. Florida also was 3-1 vs the Canes from 1982-1985. Florida also has 1 undefeated season(1911). Miami has 3 undefeated seasons, 01, 91, 87. Not sure where you get 5, lol. Miami has a great history and has put some great players in the pros. I'm very proud of Miami past success. 37-28 over the past 5 seasons without a bowl win is pathetic. UF has the most wins in college football over the last 20 yr
@knightguy11 Miami is just the better program. Leads the overall series..beat UF thoroughly in the 2001 sugar bowl (37-20) and in another bowl (2004 peach bowl 27-10). UF has never put together a 58 game home winning streak. UF has never won 34 in a row like Miami did from 2000-2002. UF has never had 14 straight yrs with a first round NFL pick. It's simply hard to argue against facts my man. Miami has been the more dominant program. UF got a little hot lately..that's clouded your judgement.
@odoylerules1231 I just simply disagree with you. Florida has been a dominant program in the best conference in the land for 20 years. We can go back and forth on the programs achievements all you want. Florida has 3 Heismans. Florida has the most wins in all of college football since 1990. Florida had 9 guys go in the NFL draft last year, the most since Florida had 10 guys drafted in 1978. Florida has had 42 1st round draft picks all time. 2 NC's in the last 4 years.
@odoylerules1231 FYI: if Miami played in the SEC they would have have had those win streaks. Miami was independent, then big EAst, and now ACC. Come on buddy. UM played a 3 or 4 game schedule back in the 80's. Anyway I love the Canes, I support the Canes...I just think that Florida is a stronger program in recent history. UF has been a little hot since the 80's. Spurrier just took them to the next level and Meyer took it farther. Miami has gone backwards.
@odoylerules1231 Florida is coming off a 22 game win streak from 2008 and 2009. Did you miss that??? It's been 7 years now that Miami has not been relevant. I'm sorry for that. I hope they get back to been a good team that plays in a decent bowl game, and wins a bowl game. When did they last win a bowl game???
@knightguy11 Quarterback...advantage MIAMI. Jim Kelly, Bernie Kosar, Vinny Testaverde, Steve Walsh, Craig Erickson, Gino Toretta, Ken Dorsey > Spurrier, Noah Brindise lol, Jesse Palmer, Tim Tebow, Danny Wuerffel, and Rex Grossman
@odoylerules1231 Sure Miami has had more heralded QB's. Tebow and Wuerfell are as good as you can get though. Records(stats), wins, Heismans....those 2 QB's are as good as any QB's in all of college football....bar none. Grossman, Spurrier and John Reaves are truly great college QB's....I think you are mixing up the NFL with college. Look at Gino Toretta, he won an NC and a Heisman as a Cane, never even made an NFL team.
@knightguy11 You cannot name a SINGLE position that Florida has had better players than Miami in. PERIOD. At every positon for Miami I can name at LEAST one hall of famer/future hall of famer. Not the case with Florida.
@odoylerules1231 Wow, I just disagree with you. I"m not going to do the research. Maybe later. You are a bit over the top. Florida has 2 in the hall right now. How many does Miami have??? Emmit Smith and Jack Youngblood. Not a Miami hurricane QB on an NFL current roster, ouch. Florida has great players at every position as well. Have a great evening.
@knightguy11 No I'm serious...I just proved to you that there is not a SINGLE position where Florida has done better than Miami at historically. Just saying..Have a great evening.
@knightguy11 Florida's "now" isn't too good at all.. So you are living in the "was" as well pal. If you are Oregon or Auburn the now is treating you well.
@odoylerules1231 I call the NOW the most recent 5 years, not 1 year. Florida is fine and has 2 NC's in the last 5 seasons. Just my opinion. Live in recent history, and stop talking about QB's who aren't playing football anymore. Florida is the premier team in the state...all the experts agree that Florida is a top 5 program in the Nation. Look how they are talking about what a great job the Florida job is. Florida will go out and hire a great coach.
@knightguy11 You keep saying Florida is the winningest team over the last 20 years..Well Miami's the most successful the last THIRTY years. They've won in each of the last three decades. Florida cannot say that.
@odoylerules1231 No they can't, but they can say they've got 2 National titles in the last 5 years. Nobody else can say that. Fact is Miami won 4 National Titles over 20 years ago. Guess what??? Princeton has 26 college football National Titles....all from 1869-1935.....does that make them relevant??? does that make them the kings of college football??? No it doesn't......I prefer to live in the NOW...not in the WAS. Last 5 years in present history. Miami has been very mediocre the last 5 years.
@odoylerules1231 I find it funny how Cane fans want to drill people with those 5 NC's. They just keep getting farther and farther away. Soon you'll be like Notre Dame(who has 8 NC's), Notre Dame won NC's in 3 straight decades, 60's, 70's(2), 80's....and 4 NC's in the 1940's.......again...does that make them relevant today???? I think you get my point. I love UM but I don't talk about NC's from 20+ years ago. Miami is not a top program and hasn't been for a while. I wish them luck.
@knightguy11 Our last one was 9 years ago. Hasn't been that long. Miami will ALWAYS be premier bc of tradition. To think that Miami will never reach college football's ultimate peak again just further proves your ignorance. It's like you think that Miami did ABSOLUTELY nothing the last ten years. In the last 10 yrs (RECENT history) Miami has a rose bowl win, an orange bowl win, a sugar bowl win, a peach bowl win, a 4-1 record vs UF, 8 wins over FSU, and 25 first round NFL picks. Not bad at all.
@odoylerules1231 When did I ever say UM will never get back to being a top 5 program???? Never did. I'm a Miami fan...I guess I have to remind you of that. Miami has done nothing in the last 5 years. Not sure how I'm ignorant in any way???? YOu are funny dude. I love UM and I wish they were relevant in college football. Thats all I'll say. I never said Miami has done nothing in the last 10 years. YOu are making stuff up, lol.
@knightguy11 Al Golden was a great hire. He got his feet wet at Penn State and Virginia..and he has the head coaching experience at Temple. He's blossoming, hungry, and thankful for the job. I say they got their man.
@odoylerules1231 You may be right...I guess time will tell. The only negative I see is recruiting. I hear some recruits are running from UM. I really don't know though.
@knightguy11 Miami had 11 pro bowlers last year. Oh but I guess all those players played on 80's teams. Cause you know they haven't done anything recently.
@odoylerules1231 They weren't from the last few years I can tell you that. I think Miami had 3 guys drafted in the last 2 drafts. Miami has tons of great pros, I acknowledge that. I love Miami...Go Canes, beat Notre Dame. The bowl of the has beens.......I joke, I joke, I kid, I kid, lol. Have a great weekend.
@knightguy11 And you seriously think you're taking shots at Miami by saying "not a Miami Hurricane QB on an NFL roster". How about the greatest WR in the NFL (Andre Johnson)? How about one of the best RBs in the NFL (Frank Gore)? How about the best Nose tackle in the NFL (Wilfork)? How about one of the best Left tackles in the game (McKinnie)? Greatest LB of all time (Lewis)? Best kickoff returner of all time (Hester)? One of the best safeties of ALL TIME (Reed)? UM > UF in the NFL as well.....
@knightguy11 Linebackers: Advantage MIAMI.....Ray Lewis, Bernard Clark, Jonathan Vilma, DJ Williams, Dan Morgan, Jay Brophy, Darrin Smith, Jon Beason, Jessie Armstead, Michael Barrow, Tavares Gooden, Nate Webster > Andra Davis, Brandon Siler, Channing Crowder, Brandon Spikes, Jevon Kearse, Marcus Oquendo Johnson, Bam Hardmon
The U still runs the state. 5 national championships and look at the nfl its all canes. its over for the gators. We will watch all the gator fans dwindle this season now that the cry baby is gone. Its all about the U
The U is irrelevant in college football right now. Hoping they can compete for an ACC championship this years. Florida wins 2 NC's in the last 4 seasons, #1 recruiting class.....um, Florida is by far the SCHOOL in Florida.
Actually is was 23 years and it was only 6 games in those 23 years. Using your formula. UM has not beat the Gators in 6 years, lol. Coach Meyer has had heart problems for years, are you an idiot.
whats really funny is florida only has 3 championships and miami has 5 and comming next year when j.harris comes back with a better thumb its over for all the team 2011 champions the "U" while tebow cries on the sideline when he rides the bench in the nfl
You skipped 2010. This next season is the 2010 season not the 2011 season. Just because the NC game is played after the new year does not make it the 2011 NC.
a dynasty doesn't last only a couple of years man and someone with an ounce of intelligence should know that.. The Canes are a dynasty that "controlled" football for 30 years. Do your homework before you run your mouth because you'll only be left looking stupid. Gators are a "good" team, nothing more. They won their games and good for them. But don't even think of putting them in the same category as the Canes. There's no crying in football you know that.
Canes are 28-23 in the last 4 seasons. Canes were horrible pre 1980. Florida is the winningest team in college football in the last 20 years.....do you get that.......most wins of ANY team in college football since 1990. 20 years of success. The last time Florida lost 6 games was 1987. Miami went 5-7, 7-6, 7-6 in a 3 years span. Miami should be embarrassed. Miami should never lose more than 2 or 3 games a year with the talent they have. Florida has been the better team in the present.
hey man how are you? how did that pop football team of yours do? Look i get it that you're a big gator fan. But answer me this. Why did UF take the U off their schedule? At least FSU had what it took to keep us on every year. You can say whatever you want with whatever numbers you have but history states that Miami is better than any team in college. Just watch the end of 30 30 espn. There they show the stats and each stat isgreater than any other school. There you go. good talk
The two schools met every year from 1944 until 1987, but have not played regularly since then. Florida canceled the annual series after the 1987 season, when the requirement of the Southeastern Conference for member schools to play eight conference games induced the University of Florida to fill out the non-conference portion of its schedule with teams that do not require a home-and-home arrangement. ***Does that explain it. I took it off the Miami web site concerning rivalries.
that's all good when you're only discussing the rivalry aspect of the case but the conversation was about records and on that matter the Canes control the table. Until somebody else steps up and takes it away from us, it'll still be a Cane record.
How do they control the NC records. 4 teams have more National Titles and 2 other teams also have 5. Not sure how Miami is a better program than teams with more titles??? Ohio St and Nebraska have 5 as well. Here is a stat for you. Most wins by a college team in the last 20 years(since 1990) that would be Florida. Most wins in all of college football. I like that stat.
if you want to talk about 20 yrs go ahead I've been talkin about the last 30yrs. Those other schools have all those championships due to being around alot longer than the U. The U became the team to beat in the 80's and ran with it. The gators were good in the 90's because the U was undersuspension for 5yrs.
Yea, Miami has only been playing college football since 1926????? Keep justifying whatever you want. You are really saying that Florida was good in the 90's because Miami was on probation???? thats crazy, they don't even play each other. How do you justify Florida in 83, 84, 85, going 10-1-1 every year and being name National Champs in 1984(UF was on probation and couldn't accept the title), you are funny dude. Like I said before....justify anything you want. Both team are great programs,
How can you say that Miami has better historical statistics than any other college football team. I'm a can fan and I'm very proud of their accomplishments. That being said. Notre Dame has 8 NCs, Bama has 8 to 12 depending on who you talk to. Oklahoma and USC both have 7 NC's. You must remember that UM was horrible pre 1980. They had little to no history before Schnellenberger. 8 bowls from 1926 to 1980, record 3-5. No bowls from 1967 to 1980. Historicall UM is not in the top 5. Sorry buddy.
Over what period of time did all those other schools aquire their NC's? Did they do it as quickly as the U? The answer is NO. Miami became the U in the 80's and 90's. 5 NC's 3 undefeated seasons, 14yrs of 1st round icks, 11 pro bowlers (this year), etc, etc... QB U, LB U, RB U. Simply enough said. Cane fan as yourself can't deny that. UF had their run and good for them. They beat the U when they were at their strongest and the U at their weakest. I wouldn't take pride in that.
Sorry buddy but Bama won 6 NC's in a 18 year period. 3 in the 60's and 3 in the 70's. add 1992 and 2009 to make 8. Your arguments just don't add up. Alabama has 6 undefeated season in their 8 NC's. Miami has made some great pros, I'm so proud of what they have done. Florida beat Miami in 1983(28-3) and Miami went on to win the NC. I can refute anything you throw up. Miami is a great team and program, just not in the top 5. I love UM and hope they win the ACC this year.
FYI: regarding the espn 30 30 documentary. 95% of the people I talked to think that piece made Miami look bad, and I agree whole heartedly. Miami cheated by rappers paying players, Miami had players who commited burglaries on a regular basis. Miami had tons of Unsportsmanlike penalties. It really showed them in a bad light. It amazes me that UM fans think that was a positive program. I love UM but I don't think that program was good for the Canes. Just my opinion.
ya like that shit doesn't happen anywhere else...?????? You must be delusional. When you have kids to feed and put pampers on them you do what you have to do. Those people you speak of have most likely never gone thru hardship as those players did. You can't live on $30 spending money for food when you weigh 200+lbs. You do what you have to do. But I guess those poeple that you talked to never went to bed with an empty stomach, or knowing if you're gonna get evicted the next day.
YOu can't justify breaking the law. Sorry buddy. I watched the program and heard them saying I have kids to feed. Maybe you should have used birth control when you don't have a job. Or....you can just go break into a car and steal a stereo????? NO I refuse to think that is OK. Sorry buddy, that is just stupid. I'm amazed you think it's OK to be a criminal to feed your family. GET a job.
not justifying that committin a crime is right because it is not. But I'm sorry If i don't have money to feed my kids I will do what I have to do. Last I checked if i remember correctly you have kids so if you lost your job and your wife (lets say) lost hers, would you let your kids go hungry. I would do ANYTHING for my family. The law wouldn't apply to me if that was the case. These were kids from the ghetto that didn't know anything about condoms what do you expect.
What a crazy argument. You can go to public assistance, church, friends, etc.....give me a break. Get a job and stop stealing other peoples stuff. You are so far off base.
With that comment i know you'r not from Dade county and know nothing about the riots in the 80's. So you don't know what these kids went thru so your argument is mute. Miami started up in 1925 and started the program in 26. After 50 yrs they almost tore down the program until howard stepped up in 79 and by 83 won a NC and the U ran with it until 2001. Both teams a great but Miami has a better record, period. Da U 5>3 UF it's math man.
How have the last 4 seasons been for UM. Florida actually has more wins than Miami historically. You admit that UM was a terrible program pre 1980. At least you got that right. Miami has 5, UF 3, wow you really know your history. I'm from Naples, born and raised buddy and I still live here. I'm a parent and I have played and coached with kids from poverty. I can't justify robbery, sorry buddy. Better progams than UM are Notre Dame, Alabama, USC and Oklahoma. Miami is about 6th on my list.
that's right you live in naples. One of the nicest places in florida with some of the lowest crime rate. Ya you really know about poverty, sure you do. Look you got your opinion of who's better by what margin and I got mine so leave it at that. Can't justify robbery? Lose your house, job, see how your feelin and then see your kids goin to bed hungry. Maybe YOU wouldn't do anything for your kids but I sure as hell would. I rather starve than my kids. So lets end it on that. Cheers.
I would rate Miami a better overall program than UF by a hair. I just don't think they are even close to being the best program in college football, that is where we differ. I would work at Mcdonalds to feed my kids, not commit robbery, etc. I do love Naples and I'm very lucky to have what I have. Have a great day watching Tebow in the Senior bowl.
how the fuck can you say notre dame is a good program.. they are ass.. their not the program in the past were they were the only football games on tv. Notre dame is a bunch of stained glass pussies
Notre Dame is a crappy program. Historically they are one of the best ever...in the last 15 years they are not good. You can't always judge a program on what they have done in the last few years. IF you did that, UM would be terrible. 28-23 over the last 4 seasons. Losses in the Emerald bowl and the Champs bowl??? come on buddy.
Where's 2000 sugar bowl score??Peach bowl??LMMFAO!!!Thats it? 2008 all you got? hehehehehehehehehehe Miami's dicks are still bigger then the Gayturds lol by 5 NC's to 3 lol....and its the STATE OF MIAMI BITCH GET IT RIGHT!
Miami's dicks are bigger then gators dicks? Dude well take miami's dick out your mouth (after they came in it) and measure it then faggot ass bitch ! your talking about sucking guys dick you punk ass bitch!
Lol....the only bitch Gators know is HOW TO BE BAMA'S BITCH lol....Tebows gone and so is the run....have fun getting your asses handed to you every year........lol...and the only person talking about sucking dick is you lol.....and so sound like you like faggets Bama BITCH THAT GOT THEIR SLAMMER!
Wow your grammer and language, i can tell your a UM fan. Keep talking about dicks and 'who's bigger' and im sure you'll figure out what team YOU are playing for sooner or later lmfao! You sound like a 14 year old kid playing on mommy's computer flaming. Stay a canes fan and you can be just as IRRELEVANT over the last 20 years as those losers you route for! TIM TEBOW ONCE PLAYED RUSSIAN ROULETTE WITH A FULLY LOADED GUN.....................AND WON!
LMMFAO!!!WOW....is that what happened in that SEC confrence ass wupin game lol....I don't think I need to tell you who I watched holding that crying towel do I?Guess the gun went off that time huh ;-)
Stay a GAYTURD fan lol....it will be another 40 years before their next big dance!Watch out for that rammer jammer in the SEC lol....We all know what happened last year.
no you'r on crack thinkin that when they are 14,15,16yrs old and no parental guidance they are gonna know the difference. A kid with no parental guidance is a loose cannon. A parent would know that.
who cares how many more wins the gators have their first games were against charleston southern and troy, come on tryo? who the F is Troy?, the Hurricanes first 2 games were against FSU and Georgia Tech, just sayin its easier to beat teams that are ranked in the negatives
Troy is a team Miami used to schedule all the time. I went to UM vs Troy in 2001 at the Orange bowl. Troy was a bowl team this year and last year. Florida plays FSU every year. Georgia tech got beat by Georgia who got beat by Florida. Oh yea, Miami played Charleston Southern in 2008. I guess thats OK for them but not for UF????
What does that have to do with anything???? UM is a historically great program. NOt sure what your point is. Florida has played #1 ranked opponents the last two years... trust me.... Florida has a fine schedule. Have a great evening.
It's to bad UF is coming to an end. You guys will go back to that outcast team. You may have had a 3 year celebration, but we had a decade long one. Along with 2001, and it's time we begin again.
Funny stuff RSFlagpole. Since the 1990 season, Florida has 201 wins, while Miami has 185 wins. Where do you get your research, oh I forgot you don't research you just throw out comments. All time wins, Florida has 641, Miami 516.
BTW RSFlagpole, UM was horrible before 1981. 8 bowl games from 1935-1980, record 3-5. No bowls from 1967-1980. 41-66 for the 1970's. You are so proud of their history but it started 25 years ago. Just educating you a little. I'm really a UM fan, been a fan since I was a kid. I just don't like UM fans putting down Florida, when Florida has been so good for 20 years. Don't be jealous. We are a brotherhood of the state of Florida.
How is it a 3 year celebration when 2007 the GAtors go 9-4 and lose their bowl game. 9-4 is a very average year for the Gators. I don't think you have a clue as to what you are talking about sweetheart, lol.
UM has been garbage and is still a garbage team for the last 3-4 years or so. Florida is still the best team in Florida even after getting its ass handed to them by Alabama, which last time I checked, was no in Florida. Pretty sure UF beat UM last time we played. All miami fans are pretty stupid when it comes to sports, I would know..I live in the godforsaken place.
Well I know UF beat Miami 28-3 in 1983(the Canes 1st NC season), and UF beat them again in 1985. Since they only played sparingly from then on, I"m not sure. Can you remember the last time the Canes were relevant, lol. I'm just joking. I love the Canes. Don't know why you have to get on UF though.
In 23 years they have played 6x. Like I said, using that way of thinking......Miami has not beat the Gators in 5 years. Florida is the winningest college football team in the nation in the last 20 years.........DO YOU GET THAT. Why do you care so much about UF.....I don't get it. Miami has a great history. Florida has been the more dominant team presently......stop it dude.
Look up who decided to drop who. Look who doesn't want to schedule who. If Florida is sooooooo dominant and the king of Florida, why won't they schedule Miami.
Even if the Gators have been the more dominant team presently, they are 4-1 against the Canes this decade.
The two schools met every year from 1944 until 1987, but have not played regularly since then. Florida canceled the annual series after the 1987 season,[22][100] when the requirement of the Southeastern Conference for member schools to play eight conference games induced the University of Florida to fill out the non-conference portion of its schedule with teams that do not require a home-and-home arrangement.
That excerpt is from the Miami Hurricane website that talks about the UF rivalry. Although its a real shame UF/UM rivalry is no more, Florida really did it for the money. Florida sells out every home game and doesn't want to have to play an OOC game away. It already has FSU every other year in Tally, It has Georgia in Jacksonville. That leaves 7 possible home games. Botton line.....UF makes a ton of money from home games.
Well,if were taking everything in account, every game and what not.Every game counts, right?.So,then why doesn't florida's undefeated season stand in you miami fans eyes? And seriously bub, your bragging about conference titles, while playing in a basketball conference?...good fight indeed.Haha, fsu and miami ran to basketball conferences, when florida welcomed you into the sec.You guys are total fuckin frauds jack
Umm, we may have turned down the offer but lets not forget that the ACC was once the dominant conference along with the big east. I believe they are both getting their dominance back.
The acc was once the dominant conference along with the big east
Yes,maybe those georgia tech teams in the 50's dominated the acc. But, when miami joined the big east, and fsu joined the acc, those conferences were and have remained A W F U L! Let's compare the schedules florida had to go through, compared to fsu and miami's in their nc seasons.Fsu's and miami's are laughable in comparison.Haha..you sure you want this?lol
Why do Gator fans still think the SEC is dominant still? Open your eyes? 3 ranked teams! The Big East is DOMINATING this year. ACC is all coming into the top 25. UNC and UNC will definitely be next year and FSU still has another year with their starting line up. Face it. The SEC is no longer what it was. There goes that CBS sponsor.
YOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT THE FUCK ......... WE ARE THE U WHO GIVES A DAMMMMM ........NIGGA UR FAT UGLY ASS ........ WE ARE STILL THE BEST
juarezdaking 4 weeks ago
@juarezdaking Still the best? really? 34-29 over the last 5 seasons? Never even won their division in the weak ACC in 8 seasons? 1-4 in last 5 bowl games? Still the best? OK

Lets see, Canes 5 Gators 3. National Championships that is. And look at the NFL, the U not only represents the success Miami has had in college, but also the fact that they are the best football factory for the NFL, period. And if the Gators are the new U, then why dont they have the balls to play Miami every year? Took them off their schedule in 87 because they just couldnt hang. Canes will always be the U.
umcane79 5 months ago

WODEAL94 8 months ago
@WODEAL94 No Gator ever wants to be called "the U".....just doesn't happen. Florida has been the premier team in Florida for some time now. Miami has become irrelevant in college football. Miami has been mediocre at best for the last 5-7 years. Miami has been in the ACC for 7 years and has never made it to the ACC CG. They are 1-4 in their last 5 bowl games. ***the U....is a nice catch phrase....just like roll tide, go Gators, Hook em horns...etc. I love that catch phrase....its a good one.
knightguy11 8 months ago
um in not a gator fan or hurricanes fan what so ever, i actually dont like any of them, im a fan of ohio state. so u cant say im being bias wen i say this soooo the gators cant be the u. they just cant, "The U" is always gna be the title for the miami hurricanes. its not an award its a title. what do you see on the miami hurricanes players helmet? a U. what do you see on a gators helmet? a gator. so its impossible that the gators can ever be the U.
WODEAL94 8 months ago

Bxfinezt91 1 year ago
@Bxfinezt91 Florida and Miami are still a rivalry based soley on there history and location in Florida. You are right though. Florida/FSU and Miami/FSU are much bigger rivalries. Florida and FSU are so close in location and have such a great rivalry. FSU and Miami are now in the same conference and have a great history of close games decided by last second field goals. I still would consider Florida/Miami a rivalry though.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@Bxfinezt91 You do realize that Florida played Miami every year from 1938 through 1987 right. Do some homework before you throw out a comment. Florida dropped them from the schedule when the SEC expanded and required SEC teams to play 8 conference games. Just a couple of facts for you.

Canesnumber1stunner 1 year ago
@Canesnumber1stunner Florida has met Alabama 7x in the SEC championship game. They are 4-3 in those 7 games. Alabama has a really great team and I hope we get another shot at them. Florida is the most successful team in the state and has been for the last 5 years and has dominated the SEC for 20 years. Miami has a great past history and has a good team this year. Maybe Miami and Florida will meet in a bowl game....wouldn't that be cool. Go Gators!!
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 I doubt it'll be Florida from the East. After seeing how good of a team USC can really be I think they will win out the East. Florida just isn't producing on offense or defense. I think the winner of the LSU v. Auburn game is going to be the one to win the West. Alabama just isn't in a situation to repeat with such young players now coming onto the team.
DMB206 1 year ago
@DMB206 That is a possability. I don't see Bama losing to either Auburn or LSU. So I think Bama will win the West and of course the winner of the Florida/South Carolina game will win the east. You must remember that South Carolina played the best game of their life Saturday. Florida can beat the Cocks. I guess we wait and see.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@Canesnumber1stunner Florida got by Bama in 08'. Florida is 4-3 vs Bama in the SEC Championship Game. They have had UF's number the last 2 years. I love Miami...I just don't like idiot Miami fans like yourself. Go Canes, I'm rooting for UM to win the ACC this year.

gus305 1 year ago
@jclee42 you wouldn't be saying that back in 2000-2001 when miami was winning all the time. you just wait, they'll be back to championship form. miami will always be the "U"
jetstar186 1 year ago
@jclee42 i'm a gator fan and i can say that's false. do u know how many players from miami play in the nfl and actually play. in the 80s and some of the 90s, miami dominated. that's what intensified the rivalry between miami, fsu, and florida because all three teams were hot then. football is like a circle like bowden says and i agree with this.
Andydag904 1 year ago
@jclee42 u start out bad, u get good and u go back to where u started. i hate to say but eventually florida will fall. i hope not but it will most likely happen. besides, after this past year and the way miami played, i can see miami is on the rise

When you have 5 and put out players like Johnson, Wayne, Irvin, Portis, Kelly, Lewis, Beason, Vilma, Taylor, Wilfork, Sapp, Reed, Kosar, Testaverde, James, Anderson, etc then talk
odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 Hate to tell you buddy but Florida beat Miami 7 years in a row from 1971 thru 1977. Florida also was 3-1 vs the Canes from 1982-1985. Florida also has 1 undefeated season(1911). Miami has 3 undefeated seasons, 01, 91, 87. Not sure where you get 5, lol. Miami has a great history and has put some great players in the pros. I'm very proud of Miami past success. 37-28 over the past 5 seasons without a bowl win is pathetic. UF has the most wins in college football over the last 20 yr
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Miami is just the better program. Leads the overall series..beat UF thoroughly in the 2001 sugar bowl (37-20) and in another bowl (2004 peach bowl 27-10). UF has never put together a 58 game home winning streak. UF has never won 34 in a row like Miami did from 2000-2002. UF has never had 14 straight yrs with a first round NFL pick. It's simply hard to argue against facts my man. Miami has been the more dominant program. UF got a little hot lately..that's clouded your judgement.
odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 I just simply disagree with you. Florida has been a dominant program in the best conference in the land for 20 years. We can go back and forth on the programs achievements all you want. Florida has 3 Heismans. Florida has the most wins in all of college football since 1990. Florida had 9 guys go in the NFL draft last year, the most since Florida had 10 guys drafted in 1978. Florida has had 42 1st round draft picks all time. 2 NC's in the last 4 years.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 FYI: if Miami played in the SEC they would have have had those win streaks. Miami was independent, then big EAst, and now ACC. Come on buddy. UM played a 3 or 4 game schedule back in the 80's. Anyway I love the Canes, I support the Canes...I just think that Florida is a stronger program in recent history. UF has been a little hot since the 80's. Spurrier just took them to the next level and Meyer took it farther. Miami has gone backwards.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 Florida is coming off a 22 game win streak from 2008 and 2009. Did you miss that??? It's been 7 years now that Miami has not been relevant. I'm sorry for that. I hope they get back to been a good team that plays in a decent bowl game, and wins a bowl game. When did they last win a bowl game???
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 NUMBERS do not lie. Miami has the series lead, more championship trophies, and a history of MUCH better players.
odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Quarterback...advantage MIAMI. Jim Kelly, Bernie Kosar, Vinny Testaverde, Steve Walsh, Craig Erickson, Gino Toretta, Ken Dorsey > Spurrier, Noah Brindise lol, Jesse Palmer, Tim Tebow, Danny Wuerffel, and Rex Grossman
odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 Sure Miami has had more heralded QB's. Tebow and Wuerfell are as good as you can get though. Records(stats), wins, Heismans....those 2 QB's are as good as any QB's in all of college football....bar none. Grossman, Spurrier and John Reaves are truly great college QB's....I think you are mixing up the NFL with college. Look at Gino Toretta, he won an NC and a Heisman as a Cane, never even made an NFL team.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Defensive Backs....advantage MIAMI. Phillip Buchanon, Sean Taylor, Antrel Rolle, Kenny Phillips, Ed Reed, Ryan McNeil, Bennie Blades, Bubba McDowell, Earl Little, CJ Richardson, Darryl Williams, Mike Rumph, James Lewis, Maurice Sikes, Brandon Meriweather > Todd Johnson, Marquand Manuel, Reggie Nelson, Ryan Smith, Joe Haden, Jarvis Williams, Louis Oliver, Tony George, Kewain Ratliff, Gus Scott, Darryl Dixon, etc
odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@knightguy11 You cannot name a SINGLE position that Florida has had better players than Miami in. PERIOD. At every positon for Miami I can name at LEAST one hall of famer/future hall of famer. Not the case with Florida.
odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 Wow, I just disagree with you. I"m not going to do the research. Maybe later. You are a bit over the top. Florida has 2 in the hall right now. How many does Miami have??? Emmit Smith and Jack Youngblood. Not a Miami hurricane QB on an NFL current roster, ouch. Florida has great players at every position as well. Have a great evening.

odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 I call the NOW the most recent 5 years, not 1 year. Florida is fine and has 2 NC's in the last 5 seasons. Just my opinion. Live in recent history, and stop talking about QB's who aren't playing football anymore. Florida is the premier team in the state...all the experts agree that Florida is a top 5 program in the Nation. Look how they are talking about what a great job the Florida job is. Florida will go out and hire a great coach.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 You keep saying Florida is the winningest team over the last 20 years..Well Miami's the most successful the last THIRTY years. They've won in each of the last three decades. Florida cannot say that.
odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 No they can't, but they can say they've got 2 National titles in the last 5 years. Nobody else can say that. Fact is Miami won 4 National Titles over 20 years ago. Guess what??? Princeton has 26 college football National Titles....all from 1869-1935.....does that make them relevant??? does that make them the kings of college football??? No it doesn't......I prefer to live in the NOW...not in the WAS. Last 5 years in present history. Miami has been very mediocre the last 5 years.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 I find it funny how Cane fans want to drill people with those 5 NC's. They just keep getting farther and farther away. Soon you'll be like Notre Dame(who has 8 NC's), Notre Dame won NC's in 3 straight decades, 60's, 70's(2), 80's....and 4 NC's in the 1940's.......again...does that make them relevant today???? I think you get my point. I love UM but I don't talk about NC's from 20+ years ago. Miami is not a top program and hasn't been for a while. I wish them luck.
knightguy11 1 year ago
@knightguy11 Our last one was 9 years ago. Hasn't been that long. Miami will ALWAYS be premier bc of tradition. To think that Miami will never reach college football's ultimate peak again just further proves your ignorance. It's like you think that Miami did ABSOLUTELY nothing the last ten years. In the last 10 yrs (RECENT history) Miami has a rose bowl win, an orange bowl win, a sugar bowl win, a peach bowl win, a 4-1 record vs UF, 8 wins over FSU, and 25 first round NFL picks. Not bad at all.
odoylerules1231 1 year ago
@odoylerules1231 When did I ever say UM will never get back to being a top 5 program???? Never did. I'm a Miami fan...I guess I have to remind you of that. Miami has done nothing in the last 5 years. Not sure how I'm ignorant in any way???? YOu are funny dude. I love UM and I wish they were relevant in college football. Thats all I'll say. I never said Miami has done nothing in the last 10 years. whats really funny is florida only has 3 championships and miami has 5 and comming next year when j.harris comes back with a better thumb its over for all the team 2011 champions the "U" while tebow cries on the sideline when he rides the bench in the nfl
AMPLIGHTNING 2 years ago
Florida has the most wins in college football over the last 20 years. Thats in all of college football....not bad.

You skipped 2010. This next season is the 2010 season not the 2011 season. Just because the NC game is played after the new year does not make it the 2011 NC.

If canes don't like it, get a better team Florida is a DYNASTY get over it.
gatorsgotspeed1 2 years ago
@gatorsgotspeed1
a dynasty doesn't last only a couple of years man and someone with an ounce of intelligence should know that.. The Canes are a dynasty that "controlled" football for 30 years. Do your homework before you run your mouth because you'll only be left looking stupid. Gators are a "good" team, nothing more. They won their games and good for them. But don't even think of putting them in the same category as the Canes. There's no crying in football you know that.
funguy7979 2 years ago
Canes are 28-23 in the last 4 seasons. Canes were horrible pre 1980. Florida is the winningest team in college football in the last 20 years.....do you get that.......most wins of ANY team in college football since 1990. 20 years of success. The last time Florida lost 6 games was 1987. Miami went 5-7, 7-6, 7-6 in a 3 years span. Miami should be embarrassed. Miami should never lose more than 2 or 3 games a year with the talent they have. Florida has been the better team in the present.
knightguy11 2 years ago
@knightguy11
hey man how are you? how did that pop football team of yours do? Look i get it that you're a big gator fan. But answer me this. Why did UF take the U off their schedule? At least FSU had what it took to keep us on every year. You can say whatever you want with whatever numbers you have but history states that Miami is better than any team in college. Just watch the end of 30 30 espn. There they show the stats and each stat isgreater than any other school. There you go. good talk
funguy7979 2 years ago
The two schools met every year from 1944 until 1987, but have not played regularly since then. Florida canceled the annual series after the 1987 season, when the requirement of the Southeastern Conference for member schools to play eight conference games induced the University of Florida to fill out the non-conference portion of its schedule with teams that do not require a home-and-home arrangement. ***Does that explain it. I took it off the Miami web site concerning rivalries.
knightguy11 2 years ago
@knightguy11
that's all good when you're only discussing the rivalry aspect of the case but the conversation was about records and on that matter the Canes control the table. Until somebody else steps up and takes it away from us, it'll still be a Cane record.
funguy7979 2 years ago
How do they control the NC records. 4 teams have more National Titles and 2 other teams also have 5. Not sure how Miami is a better program than teams with more titles??? Ohio St and Nebraska have 5 as well. Here is a stat for you. Most wins by a college team in the last 20 years(since 1990) that would be Florida. Most wins in all of college football. I like that stat.
knightguy11 2 years ago
@knightguy11
if you want to talk about 20 yrs go ahead I've been talkin about the last 30yrs. Those other schools have all those championships due to being around alot longer than the U. The U became the team to beat in the 80's and ran with it. The gators were good in the 90's because the U was undersuspension for 5yrs.
funguy7979 2 years ago
Yea, Miami has only been playing college football since 1926????? Keep justifying whatever you want. You are really saying that Florida was good in the 90's because Miami was on probation???? thats crazy, they don't even play each other. How do you justify Florida in 83, 84, 85, going 10-1-1 every year and being name National Champs in 1984(UF was on probation and couldn't accept the title), you are funny dude. Like I said before....justify anything you want. Both team are great programs,
knightguy11 2 years ago
How can you say that Miami has better historical statistics than any other college football team. I'm a can fan and I'm very proud of their accomplishments. That being said. Notre Dame has 8 NCs, Bama has 8 to 12 depending on who you talk to. Oklahoma and USC both have 7 NC's. You must remember that UM was horrible pre 1980. They had little to no history before Schnellenberger. 8 bowls from 1926 to 1980, record 3-5. No bowls from 1967 to 1980. Historicall UM is not in the top 5. Sorry buddy.
knightguy11 2 years ago
@knightguuy11
I wouldn't take pride in that.
funguy7979 2 years ago
Sorry buddy but Bama won 6 NC's in a 18 year period. 3 in the 60's and 3 in the 70's. add 1992 and 2009 to make 8. Your arguments just don't add up. Alabama has 6 undefeated season in their 8 NC's. Miami has made some great pros, I'm so proud of what they have done. Florida beat Miami in 1983(28-3) and Miami went on to win the NC. I can refute anything you throw up. Miami is a great team and program, just not in the top 5. I love UM and hope they win the ACC this year.
knightguy11 2 years ago
FYI: regarding the espn 30 30 documentary. 95% of the people I talked to think that piece made Miami look bad, and I agree whole heartedly. Miami cheated by rappers paying players, Miami had players who commited burglaries on a regular basis. Miami had tons of Unsportsmanlike penalties. It really showed them in a bad light. It amazes me that UM fans think that was a positive program. I love UM but I don't think that program was good for the Canes. Just my opinion.
knightguy11 2 years ago
@knightguy11
ya like that shit doesn't happen anywhere else...?????? You must be delusional. When you have kids to feed and put pampers on them you do what you have to do. Those people you speak of have most likely never gone thru hardship as those players did. You can't live on $30 spending money for food when you weigh 200+lbs. You do what you have to do. But I guess those poeple that you talked to never went to bed with an empty stomach, or knowing if you're gonna get evicted the next day.
funguy7979 2 years ago
YOu can't justify breaking the law. Sorry buddy. I watched the program and heard them saying I have kids to feed. Maybe you should have used birth control when you don't have a job. Or....you can just go break into a car and steal a stereo????? NO I refuse to think that is OK. Sorry buddy, that is just stupid. I'm amazed you think it's OK to be a criminal to feed your family. GET a job.
knightguy11 2 years ago
@knightguy11
not justifying that committin a crime is right because it is not. These were kids from the ghetto that didn't know anything about condoms what do you expect.
funguy7979 2 years ago
What a crazy argument. You can go to public assistance, church, friends, etc.....give me a break. Get a job and stop stealing other peoples stuff. You are so far off base.
knightguy11 2 years ago
@knightguy11
Da U 5>3 UF it's math man.
funguy7979 2 years ago
How have the last 4 seasons been for UM. Florida actually has more wins than Miami historically. You admit that UM was a terrible program pre 1980. At least you got that right. Miami has 5, UF 3, wow you really know your history. I'm from Naples, born and raised buddy and I still live here. I'm a parent and I have played and coached with kids from poverty. I can't justify robbery, sorry buddy. Better progams than UM are Notre Dame, Alabama, USC and Oklahoma. Miami is about 6th on my list.
knightguy11 2 years ago
@knightguy11
that's right you live in naples. Cheers.
funguy7979 2 years ago
I would rate Miami a better overall program than UF by a hair. I just don't think they are even close to being the best program in college football, that is where we differ. I would work at Mcdonalds to feed my kids, not commit robbery, etc. I do love Naples and I'm very lucky to have what I have. Have a great day watching Tebow in the Senior bowl.
knightguy11 2 years ago
how the fuck can you say notre dame is a good program.. they are ass.. their not the program in the past were they were the only football games on tv. Notre dame is a bunch of stained glass pussies
Jumpman231344 2 years ago
Notre Dame is a crappy program. Historically they are one of the best ever...in the last 15 years they are not good. You can't always judge a program on what they have done in the last few years. IF you did that, UM would be terrible. 28-23 over the last 4 seasons. Losses in the Emerald bowl and the Champs bowl??? come on buddy.

who cares how many more wins the gators have their first games were against charleston southern and troy, come on tryo? who the F is Troy?, the Hurricanes first 2 games were against FSU and Georgia Tech, just sayin its easier to beat teams that are ranked in the negatives
iArchaic 2 years ago
Troy is a team Miami used to schedule all the time. I went to UM vs Troy in 2001 at the Orange bowl. Troy was a bowl team this year and last year. Florida plays FSU every year. Georgia tech got beat by Georgia who got beat by Florida. Oh yea, Miami played Charleston Southern in 2008. I guess thats OK for them but not for UF????
knightguy11 2 years ago
the hurricanes weren't ranked #1 though.
iArchaic 2 years ago
What does that have to do with anything???? UM is a historically great program. NOt sure what your point is. Florida has played #1 ranked opponents the last two years... trust me.... Florida has a fine schedule. Have a great evening.
knightguy11 2 years ago
i'm just saying that i would think they would schedule better teams since they were #1 but who cares they still molested 'em so it doesn't matter lol
iArchaic 2 years ago
Question??? do you think when Florida scheduled these OOC teams a few years ago, they knew they would be #1.....of course not.

Funny stuff RSFlagpole. Since the 1990 season, Florida has 201 wins, while Miami has 185 wins. Where do you get your research, oh I forgot you don't research you just throw out comments. All time wins, Florida has 641, Miami 516.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Why don't you count the losses?
RSFlagpole 2 years ago
we can do that buddy. Do you really think that Florida has more losses??? Do you want since 1990 or All Time or both. Wise up buddy.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Since 1990, Florida is 201-37-1....
Miami is 185-53
All time
Florida is 641-373-40
Miami is 516-288-19
YOur welcome. Florida has 125 more wins and 85 more losses.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Why would you say that UM has more wins??? without doing the research, I would love to know.
knightguy11 2 years ago
BTW RSFlagpole, UM was horrible before 1981. 8 bowl games from 1935-1980, record 3-5. No bowls from 1967-1980. 41-66 for the 1970's. You are so proud of their history but it started 25 years ago. Just educating you a little. I'm really a UM fan, been a fan since I was a kid. I just don't like UM fans putting down Florida, when Florida has been so good for 20 years. Don't be jealous. We are a brotherhood of the state of Florida.
knightguy11 2 years ago
How is it a 3 year celebration when 2007 the GAtors go 9-4 and lose their bowl game. 9-4 is a very average year for the Gators. I don't think you have a clue as to what you are talking about sweetheart, lol.
knightguy11 2 years ago
UM has been garbage and is still a garbage team for the last 3-4 years or so. Florida is still the best team in Florida even after getting its ass handed to them by Alabama, which last time I checked, was no in Florida. Pretty sure UF beat UM last time we played. All miami fans are pretty stupid when it comes to sports, I would know..I live in the godforsaken place.
DeathByMetals 2 years ago
Wow. You beat us once in 23 years :D nice job!
RSFlagpole 2 years ago
Miami has not beat the Gators in 5 years. Think about it. With your rediculous way of thinking the Canes have not beat UF in 5 years, sorry.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Before this game, can you remember the last time UF has beat the Miami?
copstryin2takemycrop 2 years ago
Well I know UF beat Miami 28-3 in 1983(the Canes 1st NC season), and UF beat them again in 1985. Since they only played sparingly from then on, I"m not sure. Can you remember the last time the Canes were relevant, lol. I'm just joking. I love the Canes. Don't know why you have to get on UF though.
knightguy11 2 years ago
lmao, wrong? UF beat us for the first time in 23 years since 2008. NICE TRY.
RSFlagpole 2 years ago
Yea, Florida beat UM in 1985.....add 23 years and you get 2008...lol, come on genius.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Wow! 23 years! 8395 days of recruiting! Nice Job!
RSFlagpole 2 years ago
In 23 years they have played 6x. Like I said, using that way of thinking......Miami has not beat the Gators in 5 years. Florida is the winningest college football team in the nation in the last 20 years.........DO YOU GET THAT. Why do you care so much about UF.....I don't get it. Miami has a great history. Florida has been the more dominant team presently......stop it dude.
knightguy11 2 years ago
Look up who decided to drop who. Look who doesn't want to schedule who. If Florida is sooooooo dominant and the king of Florida, why won't they schedule Miami.
Even if the Gators have been the more dominant team presently, they are 4-1 against the Canes this decade.
copstryin2takemycrop 2 years ago
The two schools met every year from 1944 until 1987, but have not played regularly since then. Florida canceled the annual series after the 1987 season,[22][100] when the requirement of the Southeastern Conference for member schools to play eight conference games induced the University of Florida to fill out the non-conference portion of its schedule with teams that do not require a home-and-home arrangement.
knightguy11 2 years ago
That excerpt is from the Miami Hurricane website that talks about the UF rivalry. Although its a real shame UF/UM rivalry is no more, Florida really did it for the money. Florida sells out every home game and doesn't want to have to play an OOC game away. It already has FSU every other year in Tally, It has Georgia in Jacksonville. That leaves 7 possible home games. Botton line.....UF makes a ton of money from home games.

TheGatorfan93 2 years ago
Umm, we may have turned down the offer but lets not forget that the ACC was once the dominant conference along with the big east. I believe they are both getting their dominance back.
RSFlagpole 2 years ago
The acc was once the dominant conference along with the big east
Yes,maybe those georgia tech teams in the 50's dominated the acc. But, when miami joined the big east, and fsu joined the acc, those conferences were and have remained A W F U L! Let's compare the schedules florida had to go through, compared to fsu and miami's in their nc seasons.Fsu's and miami's are laughable in comparison.Haha..you sure you want this?lol
TheGatorfan93 2 years ago
Why do Gator fans still think the SEC is dominant still? Open your eyes? 3 ranked teams! The Big East is DOMINATING this year. ACC is all coming into the top 25. UNC and UNC will definitely be next year and FSU still has another year with their starting line up. Face it. The SEC is no longer what it was. There goes that CBS sponsor.
