@PhilosopherGaming partly true. He is really concerned about those bad budgies taking the crumbs from his toast. But he adores them, follows them everywhere, and has never pecked at them or anything. He starts to make heartwings to me in this video ... which is a cockatiels sign of adoration. The laughing doesn't mean anything to him like some of his other words. He is mimicing me. Whats funny is if I chuckle when he does it, then he keeps repeating it and we go back and forth like 2 idiots.

The thing I love about youtube are the comments. I LOVE the fact that you can say anything you want. @PhilosopherGaming Oh yeah, I wanted to add, that cockatiels do a weir posteruing where they kinda bow low, stretch their heads out with their hats flat, and slightly open their wings so it looks like a heart when they like/love someone. You were right though, I mean he was obviouly confused on whether to do that or be totally annoyed at the budgies for swiping the food lol.

@bunka7rox are you dumb? Show me a finch that talks. I thought all birds talked, according to you? My female cockatiel doesn't talk, and I hand raised her from 1 week after her hatch. I played tapes of Christmas music after she was 7 months old, with my male cockatiel who was 5 months old in the same cage, and the male whistles jingle bells, yet the female doesn't talk or sing. If you own birds, I am very sorry for the torture they have, and are going to endure.

@TheIPodTouchTechGuy yeah you're right male birds only, coz its a courting behaviour they do to the females. for parakeets and all those, the more complicated song they do, the more attractive they are to the females. the females don't need to talk so arent evolutionarly adapted to being able to speak

They're not really called 'parakeets' they're called budgerigars, they're native to Australia. Also budgerigars are particularly attracted to the colour yellow. I think if you apply an ultra violet light, a spot near their head becomes visible.

well, i know for sure at least it's very rare for female cockatiels to talk or even whistle songs, my mum's raised them since i was a small child, not to mention I've done a little research on them, not sure how it is with other parrots, although considering the reasons female cockatiels don't talk or whistle, i imagine it's similar

@XXXTiffanyTerrorXXX Girls can talk as well, it is just unlikely. Males tend to talk more because it is adaptation. The males whistles and sounds they can make will make them more attractive to females.

he's KINDA saying "pretty boy! hahahah" but it's not as clear as others.

@GreenDayRHCP If he is a "normal grey" you can tell indesputably he is a male. If he has a yellow face just like sunny, he is a boy. Othewise, you need DNA testing by the breeder, etc. They say some parrots won't talk until nearly a year old. But Sunny was trying by six months I think? Catn' remember. Once he did ... get that one word, it never stopped. So if your boy/girl is trying to say something, never shut up ... keep saying it lol. Then pick two other words at a time and keep going.

Is he not awesome!! He is a budgie! That's it. He's some sort of green dilute. He looks absolutely neon. with a few colbolt blue feathers in his tail. His wing markings are a cinnamon color. Awesome as heck.

Just what I said about the green one. The whites with blue patches are getting more common. I'm thinking thatsa type of pied or piebald. I dont know if they are as healthy as your common dark green and blue ones or not.
