It requires an enormous amount of trust... and the way you're "petting" your bird matters too. (Don't touch below the neck area.) Work on building trust BEFORE you try to touch your bird.

They should be fed a combination of high-quality pellets, fresh veggies, fruits, legumes. Only a small part of their diet should be seeds (except sprouted).
