  • Nice job! Sure, you could do this in a gym, but probably not to better results. Working out on uneven surfaces and using unevenly shaped weights, etc. calls into play balancing muscles in ways you'd never find in a gym. You're working the core muscles from so many new angles. Plus you get to skip gym dues, the cost of equipment and that wonderful gym odor!

  • the girl shows muay-thai (thai-boxing) kicks (specially ellbow / knee).

  • @MartinusThomsen elbow kick? funny, never heard that before..... anyway it not like Thais invented striking with elbow/knee, they just incorporated them into their fighting system. Now, anyone who strike with elbow/knee is perceive d as Thai-boxer, even if it's 4-year old in a sandpit :D...

  • Really awesome and inspiring :)

  • by the gods! now thats a real woman! yet another great vid, i love movnat

  • Been practicing MovNat in snowy Canada this winter and I'm loving it! The ability to just run and run and make up exercises as you go is so liberating, not to mention the health effects you get from it too.

  • you can do all of these things in a gym just as well if not better.

  • @JigaboosPigaboos It all depends on who is actually training and with what specific goals. You can train MovNat indoors indeed, or outdoors, it depends on objectives, safety or convenience.

  • @JigaboosPigaboos It also depends on the gym. I don't go to them anymore except for a climbing gym. I've been kicked out three times, for wearing pants with a zipper, being barefoot, and doing dumbell clean and jerks...? I found MovNat videos around the time I became disappointed in modern gyms and decided people, animals, do not need a gym to workout. I see a similarity between a gym and a hamster wheel. In a gym, I feel like a tame, caged animal. Plus, nature is free. That's just my opinion.

  • @JigaboosPigaboos you can't run on the beach in the gym so screw the gym :)

  • @JigaboosPigaboos Although you can do this in a gym, being outdoors is truly a different and invigorating experience than indoors with artificial lighting and settings. It is about the experience rather than just "working out." Since many people spend their time indoors--at work, school, home in front of a TV or computer--why not spend time outdoors for a change? Even in the backyard?

  • I really envy you. What d u eat? I reckon no coffee, no tea, no sugar, just meat, fish and whatever is growing? Some kind of paleolithic diet? Would suit perfectly this sort of training. No joke, but when i eat some raw beef i can feel call of nature from deep inside and my genetic memory gives me pictures of hills hills and mountains, clean air, fresh winds and sense of total freedom. For fuck's sake, why d i have to live in the world made of concrete?

  • Were is that place, wow, It looks lovely there.

  • it looks really quite interesting, combining free running, running, climbing, and martial arts. Heck, I love the fact that you're using kettle weights too. Love it

  • @tattoodfreeek We are not synthesizing a variety of specialized sports to make a new sport. MovNat is based on the ancestral practice of the full range of natural movement capacities in humans. It includes walking, running, jumping, balancing crawling, climbing, swimming, lifting, carrying, throwing, catching and defending oneself. Modern times made of those natural capacities isolated, specialized competitive sports, while they are all indispensable and vital abilities in nature.

  • MovNat rules. Going to repost this on our blog primal pallete dot com.

  • i would love to have somewere this beautiful to train!!!!!!!

  • Very intriguing way of moving naturally. I really want to learn more1

    Thanks...

  • What a cool environment to workout. Very motivating and inspiring. Good job on training your balance + free running skills.

  • Great video!! We train MovNat here in all seasons; it's always challenging, but fun!

  • I really like seeing a female trainer doing in Methode Naturelle training - so many of the videos are men and it can be challenging to extrapolate a less upper body dominate training. I'm feeling inspired to try some cross training after my 1/2 in a week.

  • Damn that looks like fun.

  • I would be very enthusiastic to see a MovNat trainer work in sub-freezing snowy temperatures. Being from Canada, these videos are very climate bias. Variety would inspire myself and so many others to try it out. Thanks for something new!

  • Can you train running barefoot on ice in the summer? No. It is very climate dependent as well.

Can you swim in the desert? Can you climb in a prairie devoid of trees? No. It is environment dependent.

All you need to do is to cover yourself when you train in the cold. That is common sense.

If it is extreme temperatures though, there will be limitations anyway, like there are always limitations when dealing with extreme weather conditions or extreme environments (natural or not).

  • BTW, I do not provide videos on demand, and I don't have a cameraman shooting me whenever I train, including barefoot running on ice and snow in Colorado. I suggest you inspire yourself. Try something new on your own. You do not need me right? How would you personally deal with cold? It is what should truly matters to you. Know yourself.

    Good luck ;-).

  • @IrishBeerGuy I live in KC, MO. Though not Canada, We have plenty of snow on the ground. Instead of driving to the gym to lift as usual one day, I decided to make my yard my gym. Climbed every tree to the top, getting in a full body, core focused workout, while feeling like a kid again. It requires your muscles to "think", instead of just stressing them. The world around you, no matter what climate, can become your gym, or better yet, your playground. It's worth a try, right?

  • @IrishBeerGuy

I am doing Movnat sessions in the snow/outside at winter this year. I will try to shoot some footage and post :)
