@MegastarLV and drew carey did nothing to defend him? shows how much he thought of rich....they say they wanted announcers with improv comedy experience so im thinking this season was going to be whose line and price is right mushed together but all ive seen so far is not-so-great announcers just doing what they were mostly hired to do: announce prizes and contestants....rarely do i hear some quirky one-liner coming from them....also, is it just me or did drew seem funnier when he was fat?

@GD29 He probably did do something defend him, but it just wasn't in the media. These not-so-great announcers are just comedians who act as announcers rather than being ones. BTW, if you're wondering why Drew isn't so funny now, I think he's resented from the fact that Rich got fired.

@megamanfan3 there were a few other guys who auditioned after Rod passed and Rich was the third guy who had a call back and he commuted from Palm Springs where he used to be known as Chief Meteorologist Rich Fields. When Fields was about to do the weather in Palm Springs he got the call he wanted for awhile after 3 weeks test running with Mr Barker then in March of 2004 .. resigns from KPSP- As Chief Meteorologist.
