I'm so sick of seeing women screaming blue murder while having babies on tv and movies - you'd think by watching films that all women screamed like banshees whenever they gave birth!
@isolatedmynde Well, that may be, but I don't think I would have written something like that if I had not, as wel as given birth five times and never was there such an inordinate amount of screaming. There simply is not enough air in the lungs during birth to equal what is depicted on films - I maintain it is a man's idea of dramatic effect!
@barcalonga well. yes. I gave two natural births, and had not screamed, but you forget that was not 20-21st century, it's 18th. There was no pain killers they usually give you now when at labor and no birth speeding-up IV. Before women gave birth many hours and days, even. Now - I was done in about 6 or five hours after admission. So, it is not comparable. And they probably were screaming the hell out of it.

Only on TV do new born babies look so cute and smooth, when my brother was born he was wrinkled and splotchy the first few days.
Will Mary be allowed to raise the baby?!
