  • @JustAnotherGay96 Thats awesome. Keep in good shape and you'll get another 100k at least out of it (My last car had 283k when it got hit). You may want to change the timing belt if you haven't and don't know when it was done. Haha I just looked at your profile, Good taste :) We are a toyota family too. Keep up the activism as well. Most of my GLBTQ activist friends would never think of demonstrating the car manufacturer's equality ratings...

  • Drift ???? HAHAHA :-D

  • @HayabusaDrift I know right. Looking back I don't know why I titled it that but I was still in go-fast mode. haha. I was never trying to show off with this video. I was more amused at how fucking bad the steering wheel snap was. My dad drove this car daily and it scared the hell out of me, because the suspension was so out of whack.

  • nice fail genius

  • who were you with?

  • wait does all this year BMWs over time crack their dashes or what b.c i just bout a BMW exact same as this and it has the same cracks in the dash

  • No, it's just usually if they are left outside in the sun and not taken care of. My car is only two years newer than this, and has a flawless dash after 280k miles. The other thing that can cause it to crack is if things like Armor all are used, because the silicone inside acts like a magnifying glass for the suns rays and heat it up. Just about every car will do this if it's left out in the sun and not taken care of.

  • It all really depends on how the car was treated. My 325e has cracks in the dash because it was left sitting for 8 years.

  • The E stands for ETA a greek term for econnomy! My 85 5sp was the chit man loved it. 32mpg with the onboard computer readout easy up to 34 if i took it easy. Just great! Still fun

  • @CRDLIBERTY I have a 325 "ES" whats that stand for?

  • @rossor6ridr It stands for economy sport aka it has the sport seats, front air dam, rear trunk lid spoiler..

  • @CRDLIBERTY I know it's been two years but I'm bored. haha. They are awesome aren't they? I had an 88 Super ETA that got about 27 with the way I drove, which was amazing. I got about 33 on the freeway because of the low diff ratio. 325i s are more fun (I have one now) but they lack the torque of the ETA and I only get about 23-25 now.. haha I miss my old car.

  • I got that same cracked dash!

  • It's very common. We have a 1991 325i Parts car that has the same dash. My 1988 325 is the only E30 I have seen with a really good interior.

  • Yeah. Everyone ive seen has a cracked dash. My buddie has an 85 325i and interior is mint also.

  • ^,^ I was lucky. the First 3 owners of my car were in the same family and Loved BMW's. So the only time my car wasn't taken care of was for about 2 years, which luckily didn't effect the interior, just the paint on the roof. (Evidently not everyone obsessively Waxes their car with Zymol every month.

  • P.O.S.

  • haha i feel you man. when i first bought my 325e the shocks in the front were completely trashed, the tires were all bald and the front end had soooooooooooo much toe out. Now i have h&r race springs and bilstein sport shocks. New wheels and tires, and an alignment. The car is very easily controlled now and doent have as much snap-back. Good luck with the e30!

  • yeah. we only paid $900 for it, and thought it appears to have gotten good service with it's first owners (who replaced the timing belt way early, etc) the owners after that just let everything go to hell. Luckily, I don't have to drive it. I drive a meticulously cared for 1988 325 that has shown me 15,000 reliable miles so far in just over a year. A good amount of those were spent going sideways. I plan to get a E30 325i and do a turbo project next ^^, as I need a car with less miles. (273k)

  • yeah i have an 84 325e, it's not easy at all when shes stock. the damn steering wheel is like...lag lag lag..OH HELLO

  • I have a completely stock 1988 325 (super Eta) and it's not all that hard in that car, but the 325e (our $900 dollar winter beater) just has The worst snapback.. It's worse than trying to drift a truck or SUV. Still fun though, aside from the fact this resulted in me spraining my wrist..somehow.

  • i have a question, how much does horsepower those a stock 86 325ES have? and what is different about the ES then like E, I, IS,etc.. please explain thank you.

  • okay.. here it goes.

    325 (nothing after) Hp: 130 Torque: 170 0-60: 7.9

    325e/es HP:121 Tourque: 170 0-60: 8.5

    325i/is/ic Hp: around 150 Tourque: around 150 0-60: 7.5

"E" after the numbers stands for "economy" Meaning that the engine was tuned specifically for economy. This is why a 325e will get better mileage than a 325i, but is slower overall. They are geared towards economy as well, so they accelerate slower but overall the engine runs at lower RPMS. Redline is lower as well (4800 RPM)

  • "I" after the numbers simply stands for "injected" Meaning that the motor is injected. All BMW Motors from About 1980-on are fuel injected, but it was used to distinguish between 70's cars that had a carb and those that were F.I. It usually means a more sporty car.

"S" after a letter means that the car has the "sports" package. This means it has a front spoiler, rear spoiler, stiffer suspension, Recaro Sport seats, and a 3-spoke M Steering wheel. The engine is untouched.

  • If the car only has numbers it could mean a few things. If it's a pre-1980 car (Like a 320) Thank it means it's not fuel injected. If it's a newer car, it usually means the letters have fallen off, or the car is a 1988 325 and has a rare motor that is more sporty than the E motor but more economical than the "I" motor.

"iT" after the number means the car is a touring, or station wagon.

"ix" or "Xi" means the car is all wheel drive.

"C" means convertible or coupe. Did that help?

  • Wow, you know alot about your cars, lol good job. Yea thanks alot that helped alot. And one more thing, lol sorry to bother you but im interested... To modify my e30, enginge, exterior, interior etc.. were could i go to find all these parts, like any websites you might know, or stores? Thanks

  • I have to know a lot about E30's. I have one and my dad does as well :). As far as mods go, I'd check out Bavauto. com as well as Ebay. I'd suggest (if you are into performance) Getting a set of H & R springs (don't get anything else) and Bilstein Shocks And some good tires (Goodyear Eagle GT's are fantastic. Quiet, amazing Grip in wet and dry. With these tires, my car could outhandle my dad's 911 with Race tires). That will Help your acceleration, braking, and Cornering.

  • if you get wheels, look at weight. The less weight you have at the tires (unsprung weight) the easier it is for the wheels to spin and stop. Aerodynamics for the E30 are a bit difficult to find. If you don't like whats on Bavauto, you'll have to search Ebay. I'd get a Chip as well. probably nothing more really with the engine. Maybe a good tune up, but no turbos (The stroke is too long on the ETA engines to make the engine last with a turbo).

  • Don't bother getting Anything but stock brake rotors. Instead get a nice set of either Semi-Metallic or Ceramic (no brake dust) pads. I have semi-metallics in the front on my car, and the car actually stops better the more you brake. Get some super blue racing brake fluid (higher boiling temp). There are some great cheap mods you can do too, Such as a built in garage opener, or smoked side markers. The interior you'll pretty much have to do yourself. isn't much available for the inside.

  • Thanks alot, i appreciate your help, if i get my e30 looking/running nice ill post some videos, thanks to you lol

  • Go look in my video's for The drift in my car. It's a lot better. Still over corrected slightly, but not much. I'll have an in-car camera at the next BMW car control clinic, so I'll have some of me drifting the figure 8. Provided that I can eliminate the understeer that seems present in my new tires. Oh, and it's "cough"

  • I can actually Drift my car. I'm just not good when I get in other vehicles. I'm not making excuses either.. even though i know it looks like that. I was in a car that has horrid shocks, 3 different kinds of tires, and at the time, 16 degrees of toe in in the front. my mistake was not knowing the limits and behaviour of the car.

  • lol Sweet i bet that was fun Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! :)
