@DgkSwag516 It sounds like you may have a MicroSD card. There are adapters that will allow you to put your MicroSD card into an SD slot. Stop into your local Best Buy and speak to a member of the Best Buy Mobile Department. Let them know you want a "MicroSD card to SD card adapter".
@QSPLegend The issue may be due to either the card reader or the SD card itself. If you have another computer, try the SD card with that PC. Otherwise, bring the SD Card and the card reader into your local Best Buy for the Geek Squad to check out.
@ShueFig There are Micro SD card adapters that you can place your Micro SD card into, and then insert the full-sized adapter into any SD card reader slot:
@7franny7 If the card is functioning correctly, Windows will often automatically bring up a menu asking what you want to do with the card when you first insert it. In many cases, it will be set to run Windows Photo Gallery (PC) or iPhoto (Mac). You can also click on the Computer icon and see the card appearing as a separate drive (like F:, G:, etc), often listed under Devices with Removable Storage.
@TehBzNeez Sorry to hear that. You may want to bring the laptop into your local Best Buy. The Geek Squad there can check it out and see what needs to be done to retrieve the card. It could be as simple as just needing a very thin set of tweezers.
@vpgirl1 It sounds like you may have either a Mini SD or Micro SD, or possibly an xD card. In the case of Mini and Micro SD, there are adapters that are sized as a SD card, and allow you to insert your Micro or Mini SD card inside. If you're not sure what you need, bring the memory card into your local Best Buy and the Geek Squad there can check it out and provide you with options.
@mrspartanmonkey1 Some desktop PCs will have memory card slots in the front, possibly under a door that opens. You'll want to check your PC's manual for details.
If you desktop does not have a memory card slot, you can find USB memory card readers at retail locations like Best Buy. These devices will connect to a USB port on your PC and allow your PC to read those cards.
@Newguy585 It is possible that your laptop does not have an SD memory card reader, not every one does. Check in the manual for the make and model for specs on what ports are available. If you don't have the manual, you can often find the specs on the manufacture's support site, along with download links to the full manual.
@julieloek You may want to try visiting the website for your laptop's manufacturer and checking out the support page for your model. Often, there will be drivers for the card reader on your laptop that you can download and try reinstalling.
Thank you for your help. I don't have problems with anything else...and I have another sd card I use in my camera. I have had this one for a while...I will take it in to Best Buy and see if they can tell me the problem. Thanks again.
I am having the same problem...only my SD card is going in and staying...however my computer isn't finding it. It makes that noise when it finds new software, but then it makes the noise when you take it out...so it is as if it's kicking in and then right back out. What do I do??? Please help!
@lswann13 That sounds like a possible missing driver issue. Your PC is detecting the new hardware (card) being inserted, but the drivers that would normally kick in and allow your PC to interact with it can't be found. You may want to check with your PC manufacturer's support site for that model to see if they have updated drivers available, or bring the unit into your local Best Buy for service by the Geek Squad.
@Setraxful Some laptops will only support certain types of memory cards in their included slots. You can get around this with an inexpensive USB card reader that plugs into your laptop's USB ports. If you have other tech questions, feel free to submit them via bbyfeed.com!

@summerparadise04 To eject the memory card, you would push in, then let go. The card should eject at that point.
