  • I have got to say, Out of most of the tutorials on youtube on how to fly the 737 NG this one by far is the best! Great job!

  • @Flyglobespan93 Vow, thanks :)

  • Why is your PD and ND different? Mine has 5 instruments on it. How an I change this?

  • @SoloNetherlands Via the PMDG menu from FS. Look for display modes.

  • @rennes6 Yup, I found it already, but if I choose an airline nothing happen even when I press ok. It will stay the Boeing Livery, do you know how to change to KLM, Transavia w/e?

  • where did you download the 737NG, can you give the link???

    please

  • precisionmanualsDOTcom

  • FSX have both 737-NG and 744 installed.

  • 737-600,700,800,900? Or just 600 and 700?

  • I have all of them installed

  • Then access the PMDG menu and look for the PFD/ND-EFIS section. There you will find certain options to change the way the DUs (display units) show information.

  • the LCD gauges look different on my 737 how do i change it to this new type?

  • You have both the 737-600, 700 AND the 800, 900 installed?

  • Hi renness,

how do you install PMDG onto FSX? My 737NG on FSX is pretty simpfied and I would like to honned my FMC programming skills. How do you zoom in and program the FMC? Sorry for this seemingly imbecilic question. Kindly advise. thanks (:

  • Hello,

as far as I'm concerned PMDG 737NG is not compatible with FSX. Exactly what do you mean by "zooming in" to program the FMC?

  • Well, as I see on this video reply above there is some workaround available to install the 737 to FSX...

  • @rennes6 Yeah, it's REALLY easy actually. All you have to do is put a few items in the aircraft.cfg files inside quotes. Takes about 20-30 minutes or so, depending on how many liveries you install.

  • Literally: all systems are standby, electrical power is off.

  • It's very difficult to simulate a real world plane, but this simulation is OK.

I needed two months to understand this systems.

    2400 pages of manuals :))

  • No wonder, these are complex systems. A CBT is very useful for amateurs, because it presents a simplified system specification and at the same time it enables operations to be carried out interactively. Of course, it does not replace the hard text and certain drawings of the system... I know a pilot who tested this aircraft and he also told me that this virtual plane is almost OK for real training (only flight procedures). But I dream of a fully implemented aircraft. :)

  • PS: Don't forged balancing wing tanks :D after APU shut down :)

  • Of course, copied. :) Due to APU fuel consuming not implemented, I did not included this.

  • include, pardon grammar error. :)

  • Ok, I have lufthansa training manuals, you can start APU using his DC pump, but only if you don't have external power !

Because DC pump isn't design for longer usage.

External or ground power supplying AC pumps

    Battery supplying DC pumps

  • Correct, thank you. It is a pity that maintenance ops are not simulated, aren't it? :)

  • @rennes6 True, I also miss the ACARS pages, the only one you can 'use' is the INIT page.

  • Very Good, When you start your APU use one of the AC fuel pump(left, center or right) for longer APU DC pump life. If you suppling APU from right or center fuel tank then use crossfeed valve.

  • Thanks for the info. However, I must note that I have added the APU start and operating procedures from a Boeing Maintenance CBT Training Module. I also consulted the ops manual.

  • man! you don't know how to fly!

  • man! :) you should tell me!

  • i did! XD

  • hello just be carefull our company procedure shouldn't be widespread! happy landings

  • Hello, I don't get it, sorry. :) What company procedure?

  • Ya maybe I'm wrong but all the small advice you give are written very clearly and in such details like u write on our ops manual vol 1, If i'm wrong and u know this stuff already good for you and ur future! see u

  • It's not your OPS manual, don't worry about that. :) Regards.

  • nice video man but one question what are u using to direct the mouse in the cockpit? are u using a program?

  • Thanks. No program, I just simply record the screen via Fraps.

  • hi dude. thanks for some help.

    i got a question.

when im looking from the spot, and tower, i can hear the sound from the cockpit, like the altitude callouts, and bank angel and all that thing, do you know, if i can switch all the cockpit sound off whem im looking from the spot, and tower, so i only can hear them in the cockpit?

  • Hi, that's a good question... I think you are able to mute the sounds under the general sound options in FS9 by positioning the relevant parameters (like cockpit) to 0%. Or, under the PMDG menus, you are also able to customize sound settings like voice callouts. That's for a single shot though - to automatize such sequence is (I believe) unmanageable. My knowledge stops here :)

  • hope you understood it.

i can always hear the sounds from the cockpit from the spot, and tower. i hate it. but thanks for the help :).

  • Comment removed

  • you stupid noob Look it up on google and it costs money... 40$ i think

  • How can i start this 737 ng, with default Cold and Dark settings?

when i load this plane it always up and running. i want to set ColdDark as default, can you help me please? thankyou

  • Load the Cessna 172SP, cut mixture, position the magnetos off, also turn off the battery. Save the state, make as default.

  • Thankyou !

  • how come my fsx closes when i choose an aircraft from the pmdg 737..it happens all the time..it says sumtun bout the memory then fsx juzt closes

  • PMDG 737NG is not compatible with FSX.

  • i have problem with the MCP and radio panel,it just BLACK..no digits value show up..please help...

  • I have no idea what it should be, I've never encountered this issue. Maybe something with the panel files? Try to reinstall the product, it should work.

  • Hello, thanks for the tutorial, i was trying to learn with the manual, but its pretty hard, your videos is healping me a lot.

Just one question, im using an 737-700, and when i click in the fire alarm test, no sound rings. Why ?

  • 1. I'm glad to help. 2. Maybe something with sound settings? Or sound files corrupted?

  • No it wasnt, i think it was something to do with my Overhead config, it was starting different from yours...

    Thank you very much.

  • May you upload the checklist..Please!!!:)

  • Please check smartcockpitDOTcom or other aviation sites for checklists.

  • Hi,

Great vid! The first time i started my PMDG i watched this vid and the GND Power light came on like it was supposed to. Now every other time it doesnt come on! Any Ideas?

  • Hi, glad you like it. Parking brake is set?

  • No worries, it workd every time now. I think i must have been doing something wrong

  • Hey, How did you get the center screen to show hyd fluid qty and the earilon and spoilers and all. Is that changed by the FS9 PMDG menu in styles?

  • Right click with the mouse and the third DU should pop-up.

  • thanks, i meant the style is under/over rite? I got it though..thanks still..cool vid!

  • I think, yes. I don't have it installed right now, sorry.

  • what recording program did you use?

  • Fraps v2.8

  • wow, fully deatailded, i love that 5/5 :)

  • Thanks.

  • Cool vid, however I noticed that you don´t switch the left fuel pump required for the APU to work. 5 stars for me

  • Oh you have fuel in your center tank. Said nothing then.

  • Alright :)

  • hey ive just got PMDG, and i was wondering how do i change my PFD so it looks like your one, mine at the moment is just in little boxes like, the PFD screen if full of little boxes telling me the height the speed the waypoint, how do i get it so its like yours? i dont like it as it is now because even though it may not be it feels out dated. thanks alot :D !!!

  • The main switch between EFIS/MAP and PFD/ND is in the PMDG menu under FS. It's the style of the display. On The EFIS control panel, you can switch between modes, functions etc.

  • yep it worked thanks alot !!

  • btw, how do you get the wing views? and what does Vnav do ? thanks for your quick replys :) regards

  • re: Vnav.

That's a big question for this forum, but it's going to give you "vertical navigation," just as the name implies.

Basically it looks at altitude requirements and flies the plane to meet those constraints.

If a DP or STAR says be at 3000' at fix xxxxx, it'll try to meet it. If the alt sel doesn't match, you'll get the "reset mcp" light.

Alaska Airlines typically uses it above 3000' on climb and then down to 10,000' on descents unless you're on an arrival.

  • hi rennes.can you tell me where i find the panel (show in 3:20)i have 737ng pmdg but not this panel.

  • Hi, could you be more precise please, because I don't know which 'panel' you're talking about.

  • how long did it take u to learn to start the b737 up and stuff

  • To learn all the things I know today about 737NGs took about a year or two.

  • Hi rennes or anyone who can help me. I just got the OMDG 737NG and I can't see the wipers move and also I turn on the ignition, with engine GRN and wait for 20.0 N1, the engine doesn't start until I do CTRL+E and then the fuel cutoff... whats wrong?

  • Hi. Some info about the wipers: you need all the latest updates (1.3, about 2 years old). Of course, the wipers only work in the VC (virtual cockpit) mode. I never fly the PMDGs in VC mode - so that's all I can help... About engine start: if you follow these procedures above, it MUST work. Make sure you start the PMDG in 'cold and dark' configuration (load the cessna172, set mixture cutoff, magnetos off etc. etc. and save.) 20.0 N1 is a bit slow speed, wait for 23.0 N1 RPM percent. So?

  • hey can you help me on something

i don´t know how to star the plane with the engines off, when i load a FLP the plane always came with the engines on and ready to taxi

    what to do?

    nice video btw really helps

    =D

  • first u need to load the cessna 172 and once it that turn everything off.. then go up and load the PMDG 737 and it will now be in a cold and dark cockpit

  • Yes, nice solution.

  • it would really frekin help if u actualy said something, if u dont no how to do that i suggest u keep away from making tutorials. Its much easier to learn and understand when a person is talking about it. Instead of some crappy text

  • Maybe this tutorial is for those who already have an intermediate knowledge on the 737NGs and had read the AOM before... "Not for starters", so to say. VA-pilots have found it very useful. And, other "how to start the PMDG" videos are often very unrealistic.

  • AWSOME VERY CLEAR VIDEO WHAT DID u use to make your vids so clear.

  • I used the real life Boeing 737NG Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the Aircraft Operation Manual (AOM).

  • I love this video, I hope you make a new package soon for Wilco's 733

  • The classic is almost exactly the same to operate. There are only minor differences. Anyway, I won't promise anything, I am very busy lately and that won't change until summertime...

  • thank you man for this great fantastic production . i have it o my pocket PC and have watched the three parts 20 times util I am now ery familiar with this procedure

  • Thank you for your kind words Sir.

  • whoa! that was super realistic, how did you make all those switches appear?

  • If you own MS FS9, buy the aircraft from PMDG and you'll encounter the very same situation ;)

  • I believe this pmdg has a sound update. Could u please inform me about this sound package so I can also update my pmdg's sounds.. thx!

  • The engine sounds are payware, called Synchro-Soft CFM56-7B Soundset. The air conditioning sounds are from an addon called FSPassengers. I fine-tuned them with Sony Sound Forge. There is no official PMDG sound update.

  • what scenery is that

  • Aerosoft Budapest 2007.

  • EMER EXT LIGHTS should be the second thing that you turn to auto after energizing the aircraft.

Also, after the check of APU frequency, set the AC meter to STBY PWR. this provide electrical safety if there are spike in the AC frequency of ENG/APU.

  • Comment on ER exit lts - I think it varies by A/C OP. At mine, this proc is at preflight F/O page 3, by standard pattern scan flow.

Comment on APU CPS - you mean spike in the EDGs? Your advise is correct, though, thanks.

  • EDG=IDG

  • You need one pump switch on before starting apu, because apu does also consume fuel

  • Normally the APU consumes about 100 kgs of fuel with 1 hour operation at MSL. The APU gets fuel from the main left tank automatically. Only if extended operation is required should a fuel pump to be set on, and it varies by OP.

  • [...] And Boeing recommends the left center by default for extended APU op, to prevent IMBAL.
