Hi Christopher really good film would you mind if i put a link on the official marystanford website? You will be pleased to know that the Friends are going to take ownership of the lifeboat house, restore and have a display to the 17 heros of which Rye Harbour are very proud.

I believe that two brothers on this lifeboat were related to my grandfather. A short newsreel can be seen if you look on British Pathe News website

I first heard the story of The Mary Stanford after hearing the song by Meet On The Ledge. It brought tears to my eyes.
