Hi Christopher a very moving film, very well done. I am undertaking a heritage project on the fishing industry in Rye at the moment. I understand that the crew were fishermen. May I use your film to help inspire others?
Millidocker if you want to use this video for your site, Please do i cant think of anywhere but there, if it helps others to think and remember these hero then putting with the friends and sibblings families and the Mary Stanford website would be an honour thank you ChristopherYNot
Hi Christopher really good film would you mind if i put a link on the official marystanford website? You will be pleased to know that the Friends are going to take ownership of the lifeboat house, restore and have a display to the 17 heros of which Rye Harbour are very proud.

I believe that two brothers on this lifeboat were related to my grandfather. A short newsreel can be seen if you look on British Pathe News website

I first heard the story of The Mary Stanford after hearing the song by Meet On The Ledge. It brought tears to my eyes.
