I saw this movie for the first time when it came out and i was 10 years old. Clarence Boddicker redefined villainy for me and my young impressionable mind. This character set the bar for what it means to be a true villain. Long live Boddicker... bring him back!
I'm watching this right now. This movie is about as hardcore as it gets. The fact that you have some of the most brazenly harsh scenes in a movie ever, paired with utterly unapologetic humour, puts this movie in a class of its own. You could almost make the case that its just extremely black humor.
@allrequiredfields I definitely agree with you on that. When i first watched it at the tender age of about 8 I was traumatised by the violence. Now after 2 decades of desensitization, through TV, I just find it hilarious.
@allrequiredfields I agree, he did an excellent job but I believe even he was out acted by Sam's henchmen in the warehouse. The two guys behind Sam, during the deal scene, manage to act like cardboard cut outs for what seems like an eternity. Bing able to portray an inanimate obect in such a convincing way must surely be the best.
Haha. Red from that 70s show is bad ass.

@dogfaced The movie still holds its own though.. after two decades. Not a lot of movies from the 80s can do that..

I honestly can't think of a gnarlier antagonist. The acting was so good - actually, his was the best acting in that whole flick.
