  • Great match, but IMHO, the greatest match at the Australian Open was in 2005 when Safin beat Federer in his prime, and ending Federer's 26 match winning streak 9-7 in the 5th in the Semis!

  • ya me lo llenaron de complejos a mi nadal como deseo verlo jugar asi

  • I didn't know his name is pronounced Nuh-doll.

  • @whiteshadow1110 of course it's not nuh-doll!the american guy just can't say it right!it's nadal!first and second a are pronounced the same!

  • @samoht500 dammit, I can't sound sarcastic while typing on a computer. I know enough Spanish to know how to pronounce his name correctly, but thanks for replying anyway :)

  • /watch?v=lzwWDzgNJAc

  • after 5 hours and only 1 day and a half of rest, to come back and play another 5 setter 2 days later with roger, just show´s what a hell of an athlete/competitor, rafa really is..

  • @chillende Federer also played better then Nadal in the final but Nadal was mentally stronger and in the 5 set and Federer folded....

  • this was nadal's best tournament performance ever playing 2 5 sets backtoback and beating Federer in the final Federer played better tennis in the final but nadal mentally stronger held in there in the 5th set!!!

  • Verdascos tennis strokes looks the best out of all left handers. Nadals strokes are quite awkward actually.

  • i hate rafael nadal

  • Unforgettable match. One of the classics of all time.

  • Nadal is by far the greatest tennis player ever ..

  • This match was better than Wim 08 final.

  • Are you crazy?

  • high level of tennis in this match

  • @AbiMaster905 Its just the longest match in the history of the AUSTRALIAN OPEN, you fish

  • @rafafan97 Oh sorry, didn't see that.. You don't have to be offensive or something.. =.='

  • Not the longest match anymore.. Isner vs. Mahut beats this :)

  • @AbiMaster95 "Longest match played in the history of australian open" --> Is it that hard to understand?

  • Sad ending to a freaky match.

  • Hyper on the court that is, but every bit of a gentleman off court. In this day and age, you will never find a more humble and down to earth athlete than Rafael Nadal. He just plays every point like it is his last. Brilliant match from both guys!

  • i totally agree!

  • And then he goes on to win the final against roger in another 5 set match, wow what a great australian open that was filled with intense matches

  • Best tennis match i ever seen i hope this year verdasco will do well :)

  • i tell ppl this is the best match ever too, second might be 2008 wimbledon, or 2007 i forgot which one was better

  • I would have been shattered. Brilliant match.

  • wtf 0:54

  • Nadal is hyper. Everyone loves Nadal. Don't *you* love Nadal?

  • I love Nadal...so intense from start to finish of every match...VAMOS RAFA! Can't wait for his return in Montreal!

  • Most hyper guy ever.

  • hes just great!

  • w0w!!

  • The best tie breaker verdasco will ever play. It was so insane he was so fired up i can't believe it. Even nadal was like what the fuck....It's almost like he was taking drugs and the reaction after winning the tie break was truly amazing and inspirational 1:12 . Australian open 2009 was insane.

  • One of the best tennis matches i have ever seen, credit to both playes!!!

  • legit, this match was better than the final itself..i mean, feds crying, and letting go in the last set?, how heartbreaking.

  • thats quite true but Verdasco redeemed himself at times, but still its pretty good, since almost every player in the tour is intimidated by the force of Nadal.

  • This match was better than the final. I mean, it's gotta be up there with some of the best matches ever!

  • this year was the best Australian Open ever...

  • top 2 easily, the most ridiculous rallys i have ever seen.

  • How did he crush Verdasco?

Rafa was basically 2nd best for most of this match...but its his better physical condition that won him the match

  • @AlphaDraconis7, so the amazing ball he returned you say its just pure luck? even though he does it all the time?

  • @AlphaDraconis7 fucking luck

  • nadal's mental strength gave him the edge

  • yeh, good competitor too, that also gave him the edge against Federer in the final as well....it was just pure effort - giving it all he's got.

  • rafa is the king

  • thnx mate...........great work
