hawk eye should stay, and as we know hotspot is not always a true reading, snicko should be brought in to back up the stump microphone to see if the batsman has knicked the ball but it hasnt shown up on hotspot. snicko is very good and very consistent, the only problem is it takes a few mins more to process, however if it gets the right decision then its worth it. lets use the technology, and the tension rises in the crowd while awaiting a decision so its all good.
I got all of them right - except the last one I reffered ... because the bowlers umpire wouldn't give that decision. And they were all piss easy to give .. however I think with a pro bowling it would be a lot harder .. having said that I don't think umpiring is any more difficult than facing a fired up Lee or trying to bowl to Tendulkar or Sangakkara - or try to take a catch off a well timed Gayle shot ..
well this is a sarcastic video which is made by the aussi media during da test series against inda...... so yeah dey wouldnt be talkin like dis if da samething had happend 2 da aussi cricketers ..
I always feel that umpires decision are influenced by the appeals of the players. If the players are nonchalant in appealing (even if its a pretty close call) the umpire immediately shakes his head and dismisses the appeal.
Having umpired club matches for over a decade I can tell you there's one simple rule which makes umpiring stupidly easy which strangely enough the international umpires don't seem to follow.
When in doubt, give not out
IE. If you're not 100% sure its out, then its not out and you're completely within your rights to give it not out because you weren't 100%.
A good example would be that LBW outside off-stump with no shot offered, how the hell are you suppose to know? so many factors in play
I could make all the decisions. Didn't think it was that hard. But, I've umpired in some U-15 and club matches. In India, so your reflexes for spotting bat-pad are really tested as well.
And how the hell am I supposed to give a stumping decision from the bowler's end?
it is true...we need to value umpires more in the game, if it weren't for them, there would be no game! but i still think cricket isn't taking full advantage of technology. umpires should had PDA device that can play live video so that they can rewind the delivery and watch in slow-mo to ensure its hitting the stumps..they could also use the hawk-eye technology...there are far too many inconsistent decisions that effect the results of test matches and the lives of millions of people...c'mon ICC!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
man Indians ARE The scum of the earth - thats why EVERY civilised country refuses them visas. their passport isnt worth shit and they have a shit GDP per capita.
They stink, have B.O and everyone hates them - even other indians. you guys are the scum of the earth and are worse than fucking pakis.
with 1.5 billion people how shit are you at every sport? one gold medal for eating curry at the beijing olympics thats it.
if they introduced deoderant into india the whole pop would die out
lmao...that was so stupid ... actually i thought aussies were smart even if they are biased... but this video proved that also wrong..
Go get a life, The decisions were too simple ,i got all of them right, The stumping one was so silly, the leg umpire was supposed to give that decision which anyways he would have given it to 3rd umpire.
He talks about one wrong decision and ur name will be in newspaper , what about sydney my friend? arnd 10 wrong decisions , 1 in favour of india n rest aussies..
Feeling so wild my amazing sports body full of sexual energy!. I'm a REAL woman who wants to get naughty on cam with a REAL guy like YOU MY DEAR! I'm here to pleasure U dear, come to me! come visit me at Play-Cam * COM my user-id there is Alyssa-pixp chat soon on cam ;)
wtf? the stumping one was stupid.. the leg umpire gives those anyway? Fucking useless! The others were good tho. Also those were all easy decisions apart from the stumping (and only because u cant actually see it). Fucking useless, proved (showed) nothing!
Well I am also an Umpire, when ever my team plays a friendly match against each other. and it isn't hard to be an umpire. even though i am not a professional umpire, once u know the Rules of cricket than umpiring should be hard for u at all. thes aus tv people trying to brain wash people head.
I got all right. Does that mean I am ready to be an international umpire Healy? I am just a amateur league umpire in Minnesota, USA. Based on Healy's logic, if I got these right, Bucknor should've gotten those right!
This vid proves nothing. Bucknor gets paid a six-figure salary coz he is supposed to be one of the best ... in fact he's in the elite panel, which means he is the best of the best...however, his stunts during India's games over the last few years speak otherwise.
go suck a dick u faggot. i bet youre a shit indian cunt you dirty fuck. you suck at life let alone cricket. stop trying to act like you know shit you wanker. go kill yourself. dont u get the point of the video tosser
you just proved why aussies are sometimes referred to as 'convicts' ... too bad you dick suckers don't have any fuckin logic for any fuckin thing you do.
Example - Tony Greig and Sunil Gavaskar were removed from the Channel 9 commentary team a few years ago because their commentary didn't appeal to the biased aussie tv audience ... get a life australia! you may win the world cups...but you will never command respect. trying to demand respect is a completely different issue.
well too bad the whole world hates indians. you are the scum of the earth. trust me i have lived and travelled all over the world and everywhere i go people despise indians they mock and laugh behind your back. i was at the hyatt hotel in new york and the manager was tellin me how in the hotel industry the worst guest are indians and they even did a survey of all major hotels in the world and you fucks came out on top. u think youre smart but in fact your kind r just dirty rats
its a pity people feel that way. we are amongst the most influential in the world, be it technology or even cricket. BCCI can today single-handedly use itz financial muscle to kick any other country's butt if they don't comply. Some might call it being a bully, but that's exactly what happens when people can dish it out (1970s,1980s,1990s...), but can't take it back. and even if the general people are hated, people still visit india for tourism
go and ask that dick sucker manager of hyatt which hotels in india offer you the best hospitality and services when one considers value for money - India it is you moron. We have the best hotel industry in the world. I know you wudn't agree, but that doesn't change the facts. As for the aussie psyche, one can't avoid laughing at them coz every stupid act of theirs is passed off as just another behavioral anamoly coz of their 'convict' past...too bad asshole, but all ur generations are fucked up
All the more reason why Ponting and co. should have shown more integrity. The ustralians surely know the game , but have a very poor sense of justice...surely donot expect covicts to respect judges...they'll always be looking to bend the laws if not beat or berate the law. It is the convict mentality that comes forth in the form of aggression on the cricket field.
Good effort by former Aussies players. Let's see something where the noise is loud and the pads are nowhere near the bat and ball. LBW decisions are hard but the tip catches are really easy. 99% batsmen know whether they nicked the ball or not. 1% of batsmen (Aussies) don't know whether they nicked the ball even the ball was caught by the 3rd slip and wait for umpires decision.
Pretty stupid video. I got all of them right except the last which I couldn't judge because it was from the point of view of the wrong umpire. I cannot agree at all that umpiring is any harder than a batting, bowling, or fielding. All require skills and if you don't have it you go. If a player gets old can't move as dexterously he retires. If an umpire gets old can't see or hear clearly why should it be any different?
@ripley1978 Umpiring is definitely harder than batting or bowling. This was off spin at about 40-50 km/h. There are bowlers in international cricket capable of 150+ km/h. You have .3 of a second to register where the foot has landed, where the ball pitched, whether the batsman hit it, whether it was in line and if it was going to go on to hit the stumps. That's just for an LBW.
i agree with the last 2 responses... this doesn't prove the empire Steve innocent and also the comparison is really stupid.. and this video exp done by the AUSSIES.. i more funny and ridiculous
u r comparing eyes view with the camera view? you must be the silliest person in the world..are these cricketing geniuses? shame on them...
and yeah now you have technology..why dont u use them?Is it a shame for the umpires to take decisions from the third umpired? oh well when even the third umpire cant give a right decision,,,what can one do...dear oh dear..cricket has become a piece of shit..
Umpiring should be a standard, with the availability of all the technology, why not use them ? As such winning Aussies is a difficult proposition and in their own back yard, with lots of decisions going against you, what chance does the visiting teams have ?? come on slater/healy, its the umpires job to be fair and correct. Couple of decisions here or there is acceptable, else please keep a man with dark glass, white cane and a guide dog there.
Its a challenge for everyone there, we don't fret and frown for 1-2 decisions going bad, its when the mistakes become repetitive. Everybody loses form, like a batsman or a bowler, what do we do in such cases ? drop them. Same way Umpires shld be dropped from the panel of ICC and brought back after enough time or retire them. Bucknor has been consistently poor off late. The video as such doesn't make any sense to me.
well, lets play batsman now. Lets put the camera in the batman's angle and face bret lee/McGrath and say .."now say how difficult it is to face the likes of these bowlers. Now the batsmans job is difficult. Lets turn it around and put the camera behind the stumps and say how difficult it is to collect the balls. Lets put the camera in the slip cordon and see how difficult it is to catch the edges.
Hey, you guys just forgot to show how hard it is for third umpire to make a stumping decisions! Why does AUS get a benefit of all umpiring decisions? I have seen this for past 10 years or so now.
hawk eye should stay, and as we know hotspot is not always a true reading, snicko should be brought in to back up the stump microphone to see if the batsman has knicked the ball but it hasnt shown up on hotspot. snicko is very good and very consistent, the only problem is it takes a few mins more to process, however if it gets the right decision then its worth it. lets use the technology, and the tension rises in the crowd while awaiting a decision so its all good.

Heals, you retard...How the fuck can the umpire at the bowler's end give a stumping decision?
In case you never noticed during your keeping/batting/sledging career, there's a guy standing at square leg for this purpose.
Most YouTubers got all other decisions right; myself included.

there should be one on each, one on the side and one in the front viewing the half pitch from the front.

There are officials to punish & keep Players in check with their on-field acts.
is there a process in place, with the ICC, that identifies & eliminates poor Umpires ? NO.
Its not just enough to give away "best umpire" award annually.
Bucknor was making so many poor decisons over the last few years ! Terrible.
