Eastern HS was a hotbed of talent in the '60s. I had a chance to sing against them in the talent show of '67. They were the best of the best. We all "knew" great things would happen to them but Van McCoy's untimely death changed everything and the rest is history.
I wasn't hip to this song til a buddy of mine that I used to sing with let me hear it. The main song I knew by them was "You're So Right For Me". There were some bad-ass tenors back in the day, and this cat was right up there with Eddie, Damon, Billy Brown. Russell, Eugene, William Hart, and all the rest of them. I haven't heard all of their cuts, but I can't imagine any of them being any better than this one. The background was jamminnnn. Greatttt post!!
Man this is music. I had the fortune of singing with the Choice 4 when they tried to come back out and let me tell you we still had that sound. Pete, Ted, Orlando and Andre were going to blaze the air but it just seemed like the odds were against us. I miss you brothers

I'm glad it brought back memories for you.
The 70s & 80s were the good old days where these types of music could be heard at many house parties.

Any chance you could provide some quality mp3s for us? Can't buy their CDs no more. Not available.
