Actually CTV & Eastlink both covered the story. And all the Timmins based print media and online media did as well. But you have to tune in to see it on local media :)

@shoeless2009 "local" is a relative term. You know that :) There was nothing on *my* ATV outlet, Shania is a National icon - and the 2010 Olympics itself is local to Canada - this story should clearly have been covered by my news. They managed to fill their segment with lots of overseas tidbits, though. So I reiterate my mocking of CTV's slogan of "Support local news" :)
