  • - Wow... That has to be one of the most moving things I have ever experienced. It's so short but directly to the point.... Rascism has impacted this county so much... SMH

  • Strangely enough this song was written by a Jewish man...

  • Wow she was good!

  • i played scout in to kill a mockingbird a few months ago and this song reminds me so much of that play and the movie the help!! I <3 YOU BILLY HOLIDAY

  • @brighidfleming Billie

  • Although I've heard and listened to this song before I couldn't stop shivering. The forcefulness of the lyrics completely addresses the most destructive nature of prejudice. The constant question that comes to mind : How is it that a human being is capable of developing so much hated for another human being who's only difference is ones skin color?

  • What year is this?

  • @Poprostujaola 1939 i believe

  • This song makes me cry

  • Actually a white Jew Wrote it "Abel Meeropol" and it was originally a poem he wrote. He then later convinced Billie Holiday to sing it as a song.

  • @lazeracefromkong That's right. And Billy Holiday didn't want to sing it at first. She was afraid of the reaction. That was an ugly time in our history.

  • Really emotional song

  • @b2e1z Your comment was absolute truth.

  • This song has always been nothing short of chilling.

  • oh BILLY! LOVE FOR EVER!

  • @wiccanmoonman is ignorant, as well as uneducated about the religion that is contained in his name. He does not represent Wiccan's, spiritualists', or pagans' anywhere.

  • @wiccanmoonman what the hell is wrong with you?

  • The video and sound quality sucks!

  • @wiccanmoonman its because this was recorded on a proper vinyl, in the good days when music was about the meaning and the voice not all the editing and auto tune, if you don't like it, why comment? (by the way, i'm not an old lady who was alive when billie holliday was...i'm 14. i just appreciate good music)

  • @laurapassau123 It was a joke retard go kill yourself now.

  • This song is so strongly visual... listening to it automatically evocates images, dark and painful images >.<...

  • @Temarioneesama I agree like the dark being subjected to pain by the evil light right

  • So busy arguing about racism we didn't notice the weird words incredibly quiet at the end of the song..

  • @Aaku13 What is wrong with talking about racism in relation to this song? When the klan lynched people in the South it was done not only to kill the person being hanged it was also meant to scare other persons into silence. During the time this song was recorded it was the norm to not talk about the lynchings where they occurred and to pretend everything was hunky dory between blacks and whites in the North. In fact, many radio stations banned this song because it caused arguments about racism

  • @Aaku13 can you tell what there saying at the end?

  • beautiful

  • I thought the purpose of the comment section was to comment on the video playing and not to compare which race is the most racist and why. Who does that? Especially in 2012? Grow up.... Love Billie Holiday! Her voice gives me chills every time I hear her.

  • Not too many people know all their own ancestry anyway, this is an amazing tragic truthful song about history, a beautiful and talented singer love you Billie

  • youtube should just make an app where you click on a comment and it shows that whole conversation from the very beggining, i mean do you know how long it toke me to find all of these conversations?

  • There is one child left of American slaves. Do you think she's been bitter 112 years?

  • @paulj0557 I don't know. Is that a You Tube video. The people that are actual victims of discrimination like that are not bitter or prejudiced. People are people and everyone reacts differently. I live in Boston so the idea of lynching a black is about as foreign to me as the terrorism that goes on in the Middle East. Its like an entirely different country down South. Well it was the Confederate States of America once.

  • going on ipod

  • In Art Survey, we're doing a whole lesson on this song and the meaning about it. It's really awful what happened to the blacks back then.

  • I feel like crying when i see how she feels what she sings...it's horrible to what happened to them... :'(

  • Depressing but true. A huge mark in history. If this didnt happen racism may not have existed

  • The word Race in itself is a stupid word,it is a lie.Race was a term coined to differentiate/segregate people.unfortunately it will always exist. I applaud any person,no matter the colour of your skin,if you choose to overcome racism. We are all victims of what we call racism, not only the people who are subject to the racism, but the people who choose to be racist,They are a victim of their own opinions and despite knowing that they will hurt other people they still choose to air those opinions.

  • @clanat01 When people make statements like "I hate all of you. You as an entire race of responsible for this and that. You are the bad guys." You can apply that to any race or any ethnic group or religion. The reasoning for the hatred is a reaction to past wrongdoings. Hitler blamed Germany's problems on the Jews. And just because lots of people agreed with him didn't make it right.

  • BILLIE HOLIDAY DIDNT WRITE THE SONG! A WHITE MAN DID! DUMMIES!

  • @jasminechughes i dont get your point

  • @jasminechughes Stop it. That song was pretty much written for her in mind. The man who wrote that song was Jewish, not white.

  • @TDS4UT Jew is a religion not a race Hebrews are a race and today's jews are not hebrews

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Well Perfect Black I think it is a matter of semantics. Judaism is not like Christianity in which a person can easily convert to Judaism and be accepted as a full fledged member of the religion. In Orthodox Judaism a person must be born of a Jewish mother in order to be a true Jew. Anyone can convert to Judaism but those persons are still considered to be converts also known as the Goyem. The Jews come from the 12 Tribes of Israel that followed to Jesus Christ

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Would you consider Jesus Christ to be a Hebrew, Israelite from the 12 Tribes or someone similar to today's Jews, sort of a mix of Caucasian and Semite?

  • @jasminechughes A white man didn't write it. A Jew wrote it.

  • It's always the negative comments and arguments that always have to ruin the song. Such a disappointment.

  • @JasmineeBites You do not have to read a comment that you do not like. There were many people who did not care for Billie Holiday's song. They preferred that she just sing love songs and this song was considered to be stirring up trouble. I am sorry that there are people in this world that do not share your opinions on everything. But cyber lynching isn't the answer. Is it?

  • Billie died at a relatively young age, still in the prime of her life. Drug addiction and alcohol abuse did not help her health. But that should not cast a shadow on the greatness of this woman. And when she sang this song she was indeed showing the greatness of who she was. It was daring for her to sing this song and some radio stations refused to play it. It is about Freedom of Expression. So if you don't like what I have to say, don't tell me to shut up. You can choose not to read it.

  • @TDS4UT fuck you and all white people why are you crying you were saying blacks are racist against whites well I am telling you yeah I am racist against whites and only whites

    so what

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Fuck you and stop acting stupid. Hate me because I am a stupid person but don't hate me because of the color of my skin. If you want to hate me that is your choice. Just don't block out an entire race. Do I look like the King of the White People to you? I don't represent an entire race. There are German Aryans who think that I am from a lesser ethnic group and lesser than they are on the food chain. The Brits have looked down upon the Irish for centuries. Get over it.

  • @TDS4UT I am not british or German so who gives a dam I can feel how I want to feel you need to speak to your people because it is falling on death ears with me

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 My point is that there is no real unity with the white race. The English hate the Irish. The French hate the Italians. The Greeks hate the Eastern Europeans. And everybody hates the Jews. If all the blacks went back to Africa or were all dead there would still be racism and ethnic fighting over who is better than someone else.

I am sure there are blacks who commit violence against blacks. Its dumb and it needs to stop.

  • @TDS4UT I do not hate hebrews I only dislike the fake jews that helen thomas was talking about

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Thanks for the citation. Would the Hebrews be the Black Israelites like Jesus? And the fake Jews are the European, mixed race Semite-Caucasian Jews that crucified Christ? Herod favored the Romans because he was part European himself. Jesus and his early followers were black. The Pharisees that crucified Jesus were white or mixed race. Is that correct?

  • @TDS4UT yeah we all know caucasus people are from the "Middle East"

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Semites are the people from the Middle East. Caucasians are from India and Tibet and migrated Northwest to Europe. Whether Jesus was a Negro or a Semite is a matter of debate.

  • @TDS4UT wow that was bullshit

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 What's bullshit my dude? Do you think Jesus was Caucasian, Semite, or Negro? Maybe you think I am talking shit because you have your head so far up your own ass all you see is shit. What do you need for a citation? The Bible. Talking to you is like educating a monkey. I talk to you. You throw your shit back at me.

  • @TDS4UT The dude you white people call Jesus Name was Yeshu. Dr.Blumenbach who was a German scientist in the 1800's stated that the caucasus was were whites could draw the line claiming indigenous racial stock. He stated that their were 3 types of races Negroid produced the Mongoloid and they produced the Caucasoid. The woolly haired "Negroid" is what would be more exact in describing the original Hebrews they married Ethiopians Not Anglos.Yeshu seeked refuge in Africa not Europe

  • @TDS4UT Jesus is a fictional character.

  • @wiccanmoonman get a life. I'm 17. I like all Jazz and Pop (Lady gaga, Amy winehouse, Billie Holiday, Ella, Etta James) I'm a Big Little Monster. What I'm trying to tell u? This really a Good music (even with young boy like me)

  • @TDS4UT I thought this song was about how white man hung black people from trees. Bloody and all, they'd have parties around it. But then again, many meanings to this song.

  • @TheJackson4eva That is the only meaning to the song. It is a song about lynching. Which was done by mostly southern white man to black men. Billie did not hate white people. Jazz musicians were the pioneers of positive race relations.

  • @PatrickNM57 I never said anything about her hating whites. But... the jews.

  • @TDS4UT The song is not about Freedom of Expression it's about racism and lynching when in the south white trash used to hang black people of the trees like "strange fruits". Or maybe u wanted to say other thing with your message but wasn't clear.

  • @cuervotaylor Everyone is entitled to an opinion. It was not just black people who were hanged from those trees. Lynching was not just a thing that whites only did to blacks only. There were all different colors of strange fruits hanging from those trees.

  • @TDS4UT But it was MOSTLY black people that were being hung from those trees, THAT is the point. This song, as its lyrics quite clearly tell you, is not about different coloured strange fruits hanging from trees either, it is about "black bodies swinging" from those trees. Even if there are blacks that hate whites, none of them are appear to have commented on this page, so why attack and confront something in a place (such as THIS video) where it is non-existent and poses no kind of threat?

  • @ManOfBamboo It was mostly but it was not all. And that is my point. It was mostly blacks who were slaves in America, but it was not all. You seem to turn this into a Black good vs. White evil sort of thing. It's not that simple. There are blacks who hate whites and they have commented on this page and made comments to me. If you read words as well as you misread faces you might be less hateful.

  • @TDS4UT No, but it was MOSTLY blacks, and this song is ABOUT blacks. I am not turning anything into a black good vs. white evil scenario at all, every race possesses evil doers, but to say that whites were not responsible for black slavery is, honestly, just plain disrespectful and laughable at best. The blacks that hate whites do not appear to have commented on this page in a while, so how about toning your racial pride act a notch? Oh, and I am not hateful, I'm just honest.

  • @TDS4UT It seems to me that you would have people dismiss/forget the very obvious leaders and perpetuators of slavery, which --- and I say this with complete, genuine sincerity --- is sad and unfortunate, because it shows just how much you would have people ignore history just to soften the burden or responsibility that past whites are expected to take for slavery.

  • @TDS4UT "But the answer is not to blame a race for the problem, nor is the answer to hate a race for the problem." - So in other words, the answer is not to 'blame' the people that were honestly, truly responsible for slavery (Southern Europeans that ventured to Africa as well as the Northern Europeans that followed them)? That's bogus... and I think that you're perfectly aware of that fact.

  • @ManOfBamboo More specifically the answer is not to blame a person because of the color of their skin for the actions of others. I read a book by a Jewish researcher on the Holocaust. In the book, accounts were listed about how some Nazis crucified Jews on crosses of barbed wire. Hitler told the Pope that he was an instrument of God's will in protecting Germany. The Germans blamed the Jews for everything from the economy to the crucifixion.

  • @TDS4UT Nobody is blaming YOU, though. People are blaming whites of the past, and they are doing so because whites of the past are the people that instigated and perpetuated black slavery. Your comparison of a Holocaust incident to people blaming whites for slavery is inaccurate and unnecessary, too.

  • @ManOfBamboo Nobody is blaming individual Jews for the death of Jesus. Yet Jews consider it to be bigoted to blame Jews for the death of Jesus. The Romans were forgiven because most Italians converted to Christianity. So if I were to say to a Jewish person that I have nothing against you personally but the Jews did kill Jesus. Some kind of hate.

  • @TDS4UT But that is not "some kind of hate", because it is TRUE. Whites DID instigate and perpetuate black slavery. Being honest and harbouring hate are two entirely different things. I am a biracial guy (mixed with black and white), I AM partially white and I'm not somebody with self-hatred issues, so your theory is debunked. You equate being honest with being hateful, and than alone indicates that you have trouble accepting the truth.

  • @TDS4UT But how would we come to discover we don't like what you're saying, if we don't read it? Don't we have to read it first? ;)

    Nice comment.

  • I have been asked why am I here. Of course, I am a fan of Ms Billie Holiday, one of the greatest woman jazz singers of all time. I am also here because I like controversial songs. And one of the controversial favorite subjects of mine is Racism in America. I remember hearing this song in school and now it is in my collection of jazz recordings.

  • I cry every time I hear this song...I can't believe what those before me had to endure...

  • WHATS THE POINT OF THIS SONG?

  • @Sarah43va She's talking about lynching's in, mostly, southern america between the civil war and the civil rights movement :)

  • @McSFraNtic71 lynching?

  • @Sarah43va I believe the "politically correct" definition is: when a group of people kill a person without giving them a fair trial. Basically people would go out in mobs, gather anyone they didn't like, and sentence them to death on trumped up charges. Many were african americans after the civil war

  • @Sarah43va Do you not understand?

  • @gazrobbo53 i dont understand and wats lynching?

  • @Sarah43va What the hell you mean, "WHATS THE POINT OF THIS SONG?" it's quite obvious from the lyrics, pay attention. Use your brain and decipher the message. To end this, I recommend that you put much more thought into your next comment regarding this song.

  • @Sarah43va You can look up Wikipedia for that. The strange fruit is the dead bodies hanging by the neck from the trees. The Ku Klux Klan went around lynching blacks that they did not like. Sometimes a black person might be trying to organize blacks in a civil rights march or to join a labor union. Sometimes the KKK would pick out a black person at random- for no reason other than being black- and hang that person. The writer was not Billie but it comes from the agrarian culture of seeing

  • @Sarah43va What the heck kinda fruit's comin out of that tree? Bares no resemblance to the leaves or the fruit. My grandmother was from Alabama, my only branch of my family living in America during the Civil War. She would say things like "this Yankee soil don't take to my pea seeds." Nana could cook anything. Peas like I never tasted in my life. She taught me how to play the piano. She had black friends because she was Southern like them. Yankees wouldn't socialize with Negroes, the coloreds.

  • @Sarah43va My point is that you have to see a Southern person looking at the tree and saying "Looky here. What's that strange fruit coming out them poplar trees?" Then you look closer and you see the bodies hanging by the necks. That is the horror of it. But I don't think that Billie meant it as an attack on the South, although she talks about the "strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees" and the "gallant South." Racism like slavery is not a Southern problem- its an American problem

  • This video deserves a good top-rated comment

  • If anyone wants to believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was black, they have that right. God bless them, and everyone else with brains to end human exploitation - everywhere.

  • @MiserableOldFart But that's not what its about and it doesn't end there. Jesus is black. Jesus is a Black Israelite as all black people are. The Africans. The Jews that killed Jesus are believed to be white and as they are white are believed to be the fake Jews, not the True Israelites. Heaven is only a place for black people, sort of like the second floor balcony of an old movie theater.

Hell is the place for Jews and white people. We are the devils. The answer is to kill us. Bless that?

  • Instead of saying "don't be mean to black ppl, don't be mean to white people", you should say don't be mean to PEOPLE alltogether, cause that is what we are

  • @Lilyfloss What the definition of Racism in America has become is "don't be mean to black people." It does not include whites. It doesn't include Jews. That is the hypocrisy of it.

  • @TDS4UT what ever white devil you was looking for a black man who is racist against whites and only whites and you found one fuck all white people

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Maybe that would be the answer for you. Now I have been told to watch my language here. But maybe the answer for you is to date a white girlfriend, marry a white wife, and have a few mixed race babies. My ugly face won't convince you. But maybe a sexy white girl might.

  • Comment removed

  • @TDS4UT shut the fuck up.Did I say anything about slavery and end the Nazi and klan before you try to change people like me minds because as long as they exist I exist so like I said I am racist against white devils and only white devils suck it up with your racist ass on a video talking about balcks being lynched and crying about the white mans problems

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 There were white slaves. There were whites who were also lynched. There were black slave owners. There were blacks who were members of the klan. How long are you going to blame your problems on whites? Its not my fault you didn't get where you want to go in life.

  • @TDS4UT u out your damn mind

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 And your not the first person to tell me that. But I'll bet you dollars to donuts that when people said you would see a black man as President people would say that you were out of your mind. How about seeing the slaves free? If we have black men going around with chips on their shoulders hating whites and wanting to kill them that's not what Dr King had in mind at all. If you won't listen to me- listen to him. That man died for you. This is how you thank him.

  • If I were to post comments on YouTube like "I hate blacks." "I hate niggers." "You niggers are the devil" and to join other white people on a page and say "don't waste your time talking to that nigger devil. They are evil." I would be accused of cyber bullying and racism.

  • Comment removed

  • Why is it that blacks refuse to accept that blacks can be racist? Calling themselves nigger isn't racist but the use of the word nigger is not limited to blacks alone. But blacks say that even when they beat on another race, it cannot be racism because they do not have any economic power. And its always the white man's fault.

  • what amazing song, what awesome poetry to describe one of the most brutal times in American history. Billie you were ahead of your time, today 2012 you are so current. thank you for your talent.

  • @RBRodas This song was written by a Jewish man. That was at a time when blacks and Jews were fairly tolerant of each other. Now the belief is that Jesus was black and that the white Jews, the Zionists, killed Jesus the true Black Israelite. The crucifixion was seen as a type of a lynching. I find it rather sad that many blacks today only relate to Jesus by his skin color and his teachings are of no use for today's blacks.

  • Straziante, quasi insostenibile interpretazione. Stupenda. Perchè al mondo ci deve essere sempre tanto dolore?

  • studied the african american civil rights movement when i was 16 and it made me want to do History at university. I'm doing a module on it now at uni & I hope to do my dissertation on it. just got a First on the first essay towards my final degree grade. her passion and her pain in this song is what i saw in the words i read from books.. and in other music like this. beautiful, brave, heart wrenching. you can't explain to people the pain you felt but you can give them an idea of it through music

  • @xProudxIrishxGirlx I would advise you to check out some of Sydney Portier's early movies. He did one where he was a union steward and he went South to work. At first he swore off getting involved in the union but he saw that the workers down South were exploited. He also saw much more severe racism down South. Its a great movie for that time period. I think Portier did more than one race issue movie.

  • @TDS4UT sounds interesting i'll look it up :)

  • @TDS4UT There have actually been several lynchings in the past 10 to 15 years alone. It is still done in the south especially. Nobody talks about because they either don't care or they want to cover it up so people will believe that there isn't still racism.

  • @ellorac09 That's a bunch of bullshit. Name a lynching of any black within the past ten years? And please do not include convicted criminals being executed as "lynchings." Because those have been reported on the news, 24/7. What people believe is that there isn't any racism of blacks against whites.

  • @TDS4UT First of all I wasnt trying to challenge you. Every race has someone who doesnt like them because of their race. I wasnt trying to deny that. All I was trying to do was bring awareness to the fact that it does still happen it just happens in the dark. Im only 20 and I know of 5 different times when someone was lynched in my lifetime. One of them was a friend of mine and he was only 15. He wasnt a criminal or anything. That was only 7 years ago. So now you know how young people can relate

  • @ellorac09 And you can't even name one of them. I see. Well I know of at least 50 times over the past 12 months in which black racists have perpetrated racial attacks against white people. So don't give me that bullshit about how blacks cannot be racist because they don't have any power.

  • @TDS4UT I hate white people so what at least I do not hate every other race on the planet like whites do I just hate you pale face mother fuckers

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 I have to tell you, for your own good, that hate is not productive. You're losing the ability to recognize real evil when you assign a look to it. Character can't be seen with the eyes, don't be fooled. Your hatred will betray you.

  • @katdaddimd I am not a devil simply because I am white. So I am a pale faced mother fucker. I am sure that Billie is rolling over in her grave somewhere seeing the comments from this dumbass racist.

  • @TDS4UT why do you and others have to use such language?

  • @lucas12345381 What language is that? I have come to know what I am called. Peckerwood. Cracker. Paste Face. Honky. I can go on and on. I hear the N word used every time I take a train or a bus. "Hey nigger, what's up?" I say it even as a point of reference and you have a problem with it. Dr Dre made a fortune on the N word. Got a problem with him too?

  • @TDS4UT The best I can tell you is to resist the urge to explain yourself to people online. The people who matter to you know your character and people who are open to knowing you will learn who you are as well. The rest... ef 'em. The best that you can do is to be sure that you don't let someone else's issues change who you are.

  • @katdaddimd I am accused of hating blacks. I am not here because I hate blacks. You do not have to be black to understand that there is discrimination in America. We are a melting pot of many cultures. It angers me that somebody in the klan or some Nazi group tells me that I need to join them. It also angers me when I am hated because I am white by some blacks. If we cannot have a democracy in America we can't build it anywhere else. The mess is in our own backyard. The mess of racism.

  • @TDS4UT Then why are you purposely seeking out people who hate you? You're not making much of a case and you're fighting a losing battle. People are people. You can show them through action what it's like to not be racist, but you can't harangue them incessantly and expect immediate change. As long as there are at least two people in the world, there will be prejudice. Let it go.

  • @katdaddimd On election day, I was cut off coming out of the grocery store. A black driver yelled at me "voted for McCain, didn't you?" America has become polarized between black and white. The race war is coming.

  • @katdaddimd I learn from my enemies. Believe it or not, there is some truth to what these haters have to say. They have just become twisted as to what the problem really is and what the answer is. I understand where the hatred comes from. Slavery was wrong. The racism that followed was wrong and continues today. But the answer is not to blame a race for the problem, nor is the answer to hate a race for the problem. Two wrongs don't make a right.

  • @TDS4UT Oh wow. You are still here? That is actually kind of amazing to me. Nobody was hating on any race; acknowledging what whites did and hating TODAY's whites for those actions are two entirely different concepts. For example, I am half white and would never dream of hating that side of my genetic heritage: but should I turn a blind eye to who the clear perpertrators of this event were? No, and to expect otherwise is disgusting and ignorant on your part.

  • @TDS4UT In other words: don't take it personally.

  • @katdaddimd It is interesting to find out how people's minds work. What makes them tick. If I ask the black teenager why he stares at me with a frown he could have a hand gun under the pocket of his hoodie. If I have a discussion about racism at work, I could lose my job.

  • @TDS4UT Or he could just be upset generally and not even noticing you. He could just have his cell phone in his hoodie. AND, most people don't want to have discussions about racism at work. Stop bringing it up.

  • @katdaddimd What I have learned is that these black racists believe Jesus to be black and the Jews who killed Jesus were "fake Jews" and either mixed race or Caucasian. What seems to be the only redeeming quality about Jesus for these black racists is Jesus skin color. What I have also found is that white supremacists believe Jesus to be white, an Aryan. Both groups are obsessed with Jesus skin color and could care less about his teachings.

  • @TDS4UT Tons of people, be they so-called racist or not, is obsessed with what Jesus looked like- why do you think there are so many renderings of him? This is where

  • @katdaddimd excuse the typo- meant to say "are obsessed"

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Thats bullshit too. What about the Jews? They are not white. And the Asians. And the Latinos. "The Sand Niggers got Malcom." That was a quote by a black guy after Malcom X was assassinated. The Sand Niggers. Well I guess it's okay for blacks to call someone else a nigger, even someone of a different race. "Mother fucking Irish just a bunch of White Niggers." So Muslims are Sand Niggers. Irish are white niggers. Diversity at its finest.

  • @TDS4UT who said the "sand niggers" got malcom give me the person and what forum that was said white devil. Secondly the fake jews are what they look like and Irish fuck them and all other white people deal with what I said bitch yeah I am racist against whites and only whites so what

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Jesse Jackson said "we all know it was the Sand Niggers that got Malcom." Louis Farrakhan also refers to Muslims as "those sand niggers who killed our Brother Malcom and are just Jews with sheets on their heads." Do you believe that Jesus is black and that the fake Jews killed him? Do you believe that the true Israelites are black?

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 AND WHO CARES LOL HATER HATE ON!

  • @brandys78 so cracka why leave a comment

  • @ellorac09 Jump of a bridge devil. Yeah so what. I am racist against white supremacist I have caused you mother fuckers much pain So what bitch, you must have thought this was a one sided thing People like me to equal out the racist skin heads and klans men.We are reacting Before you say it, yeah I am racist but only against white devils and no one else but white devils so what big deal

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 There are probably fewer members of the Ku Klux Klan today than there are black members of the New Black Panther Party. I am not a klansman. In fact have been harassed many times for people assuming that I am a "nigger lover." Down south I am called a Yankee. I am told that people like me up North are responsible for freeing people like you. And the whites who owned black slaves also had Irish servants. Don't blame me for slavery just because of my peckerwood skin.

  • @ellorac09 My bad I was not talking to you

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 Was this the peckerwood cracker that you meant to be talking to? I am here, Huckleberry. You got something to say to me then say it. With Obama as President that's one less thing for the Grape Soda jerks to whine about. Its slavery this and it's racism that. Its all white people's fault. Stop smoking crack, and watching white chick porn all day long. Go out and get a job. Yo momma eats kitty litter.

  • @TDS4UT And I forgot to mention the fact that there are no black members of the KKK. That's just stupid. KKK members do not associate with blacks let alone date and marry them. Again, stupid. You said yourself that you can't relate and don't know anything about it so maybe you should stop commenting on something that you don't know shit about. I'm not some angry black person who is out to get the white man I just don't like when people downplay racism because they are ignorant and blind to it.

  • @ellorac09 Do not try to get that devil to see your humanity why people always trying to get water from stone fuck his pain You see how he feels about ours

  • @ThePerfectBlack100 You're the devil. You're the racist devil. I'll be you rape all the white women and kill every white man that enters your neighborhood. I'd hate to be a little kid getting bused into your racist neighborhood to be cut up with your stiletto or beaten with a pair of brass knuckles you gangster. You have about as much humanity in you as a gorilla. Too bad Billie was not alive to slap your face. You are no better than a klansman with a tan.

  • @ellorac09 Racism is not defined as white hatred for blacks. There is racial violence going on every single day of blacks attacking whites simply because of skin color. And blacks say they cannot be racist because they do not have the power. We've got a Black President now. How much more power do you need? Every job in the US is now under an affirmative action quota including the Presidency. Do we need to make Obama a dictator before you admit your racism?

  • @TDS4UT Please don't think just because President Barack Obama is in the office in the United States of America that it erases the fact that racism exist. Racism is alive & it's like a cancer... It kills everyone!! Even the person caring it... slowly but surely. You may not see it or haven't experienced it, but I have and I'm 28yrs old & I pray my child, my niece, & my nephews will never experience it.

  • @kshay578 Even if blacks took every single white person in America and stuck them into the gas chambers that would erase racism. Racism like cancer effects many races. Blacks will attack other blacks who are friendly to whites, or who marry a white spouse and treat them as if they have done something wrong.

Before Obama was elected many blacks said "a black man will never be President." So now that's no longer true. Obama would not have been elected on black votes alone.

  • @TDS4UT Obama is half white, a little back and the rest arab....that is from what I have seen and read. Some people say that Obama is the reason we are going down hill as a country. I don't think that is exactly true although that may be a little bit of the problem. If we don't get to work and save our country we are going to be in a worse mess before the year is gone.

  • @kshay578 I have heard many insults thrown in my face. Peckerwood. Cracker. Paste face. Nigger Lover. Nigger lover? That is what I am called in Oklahoma and Alabama. I am also called a Yankee in a derogatory way. "Y'all set the niggers free." So although blacks blame me for slavery, Southerners blame my Yankee ass for freeing the slaves. Funny that.

  • @kshay578 My girlfriend has friends who are a bi-racial couple. He is black. She is Jewish. One of those "fake Jews" that were mentioned earlier. They have a son who is about 18 months old, a little boy who is mixed race. Now that boy doesn't know yet about racism. He knows me as a big boy like his dad. He loves my girlfriend. He is too little to understand racism but in his innocence he teaches a lesson to all of us.

  • Doing this in art survey. Hate the song, BOT what it means.

  • writing a thesis paper on herr

  • this woman is such an inspiration. although im white, and this sing is about racisim towards blacks, it just shows how anyone has the right to stand up for what they believe in. this woman has showed me how to live life in a strong positive way and not let anyone put me down :)

  • what a woman

  • Billie was first introduced tot he song at Cafe Society in the mid to latter 1930s. She didn't immediately take to the song. It must have taken such courage to sing it then. They are such powerful lyrics.

We are all so rewarded with this live performance. Bless her soul.

  • i cant listen to this without tearing up. . paints such a vivid picture. .

  • jim norton

  • Jimmy, you make a valid point. I'm utterly disgusted to how awful music has become.

  • @mrmitch hey buddy, there has always been good mixed with the bad. I remember the music from the 1960s. some of the best ever as well as the stupidest came out of that era. It is all up to you what you choose to listen to. Billie's music is real and immortal.

  • Who is this? We want Britney and GAGA... Not this nobody!!! Jimmy quit messing with us

  • JIM NORTON
