Great Interview !!! He talks so much sense and has the up most respect for his parents. He doesn't come across as snobby at all. In fact on the contrary he's quite down to earth and extremely intelligent !!! His wife is NOT submissive - she is supportive of her husband. This is why they've been married for nearly 40 years. Finally, he has millions of fans, which is why he's still in the industry - he is NOT dependent on anyone else. Otherwise no producer or director would waste their time.

@Super Again like God Khans helped Amitabh to make his movie and career a hit by hit movie Mahobate(SRK) big b got second career money TV shows then by Bagwan (salman) Kabhi Kushi KG big b came in to the lime light. When big b is a flop he smooches the khans as he got hit his behavior like God The industry exist bcos of him History is proof which costar has helped Amitab he took their place & he pulled down that Costar.Till today he & his son need Khans help to make their movies commercial hit

Interesting interview with perspective on ppls views in the 80's. I know this was the 80's but Amitabh is at times snobby. Especially when emphasizing his family's greatness i.e. his mother's aristocracy and her "edhuucation" and of course his Shakespearean father. His wife is so supportive about him not spending any times with the kids. Woman were so submissive int the 80's. His dismay on video piracy is funny. Little did he know what the 21st century and the internet would do to piracy.

@maxin80 I'm not saying his making money bothers me or his being powerful makes him bad SDSEN said he makes loads of money and is powerful and therefore he is good. I was merely pointing out than the possesion of either one of these things (power or money) does not make one a good person. I like Vinod Khanna, Naseerudin Shah, Rahul Bose, Tabu etc. I clicked on a BBC playlist and this video came on in that playlist @SDSen His making loads of money and being powerful doesn't make him a good person. The Bachan family see themselves as royalty and AB is overrated as an actor. So many of his contemporaries were and are better actors but get little attention. The Bollywood industry is a popularity contest, not an exhibition of talent.
