GS isn't the end all be all. This game has enough fun to it that it could have 0GS and it would still kick ass! Plus, the fact that this achievement is sooo easy. Why should there be a higher score just for gliding a certain distance?

i got it when you leave the Bat cave after you get the three pronged bat claw to tear the wall down. You jump off and follow the side of the mountain.

look over at the town and find the tall wayne tower then press r3 to zoom in and scan it

You can also get it from the lower level of the clock tower but when you glide you need to head towards the water on the right side and eventually end up in it... that is how I got it! :)
