  • celiaemarcos. you are an IDIOT.

  • Fantastic

  • Man, this whole album rocks. It's more accessible than their later stuff (this is off their debut), but the grooving is super tight. good work gentlemen. really digging this video too.

  • John Novello, along with Chick Corea and the chief engineer at the Rhodes factory, were the select three who each received a prototype model of the midi Mark V to play, experiment on, and then make recommendations back to the company on improvements. Only about 3,000 Mark Vs were made before the company ceased operations in 1984, and these were the only three midi versions. I don't know what John Novello did with his, but Chick Corea still actively uses his model on tour and in the studio.

  • UnF__ingbeleivable!!!

These guys are just at the top of their art.

  • i think the guy got it wrong dennis chambers most deffinetly does not do bass he does drums....

  • If you were a drummer since your teens & you are in your 40's chances are you will have seen Buddy. It is sad that he wasn't such a great person to be around like Louis Bellson. Louis seemed happy & grateful & Buddy was never openly happy. He was cocky & always had to be revered as the greatest. I think Bellson thought Bozzio blew him away. I was there when they did a clinic together. I'm more impressed by Bellson's personality & humility but Buddy ruled as far as stick control & natural genius

  • It's what he says...

  • oh ok i thought it said bass dennis chambers and i was like most deffinetly not!!!

    sorry my bad

  • פששששש

  • does anyone can recomend any bands like these guys.. or some funky bands?

    thaks!! :D

    they are AWSOME!!

  • soulive, big organ trio

  • Whats about his tone - it's very easy to get.

Take simple bass with two neck pickups, pr just switch bridge one off on another type of.

Add some compressing, and here it is!

Even on Yamaha RBX-170 it is could be done.

PS: very good variation of such sound is when distortion is activated) Boss ODB-3 for example (I use)

  • Does anyone know more bands like these guys?

  • look up the five piece band and mahavishnu orchestra

  • 0:45

I love this keyboard melody. Sounds a bit familiar, reminds me about trains, railways, way...

  • thats really great... unfortunately only a few people admire pure instrumental art nowadays...

  • So true, sadly.

  • I really enjoy great drummers and have met and seen many from Louis Bellson to Buddy Rich, but Dennis has to be one of my favorites. He's got everything and is nearly perfect. Chops, groove, speed, great sounding drums and cymbals. What is more amazing is that he is self taught. No formal training. If this is the show at The Bottom Line in NY then I was there. I've seen Bill Bruford do some way out there counter rhythm stuff but Dennis goes farther out and comes right back into the pocket.

  • holy crap ...youve seen buddy rich?! ...LIVE?! omg id kiss the ground he stands on he is a god! i envy you to the fullest meaning of the term!!!

  • we should all take our daily dose of niacin --a great B-vitamin

  • essa banda precisava é do Ritchie Kotzen na guitarra...

  • Excelente!!!!

  • listen how novello mess a note at 2:24 and chambers immediately looks at him haha

    awesome musicians!!

  • Grunge Sound

  • oh fuck..thats so damn particularized good .. and thats the reason that it has more soul, vibe, groove, drive, energy and even a better sound than most "jazz", i think

  • Mario Kart or Top Gear Theme ?????

    iuhauhiuhaiuhaiuhaiuahiuahaiuh xD

  • Boombaaaaa!!!!

  • somptueux

  • Sheehan is so sick..

  • Wow i used to dismiss bilyl for playing melodic lines and assumed he onnly SHREDDDED and played with SPEEEEED but this changed my outlook on him

  • wow.. you really need to hear the rest of niacins discog.

  • same here. i just gained a whole lot of respect for him.

  • I have to agree with you... I always thought He was a wanker until I listened to Niacin about three years ago.

he should be more into this kind of music

  • A mistake many make...I've posted that people should listen to Niacin ALL OVER this place!

    May they find truth.

But seriously, I doubt ANY bassist could shred all day and not groove...it's just a natural thing.

That's like a shred guitarist that never plays chords...Oh yeah, oops, Malmsteen does that HAHA, jus kiddin!

  • In an interview, Billy stated that there were many bass players nowadyas who like to solo and can solo their asses off, but that they couldn't groove or play with a band. They learn the frosting, but not the cake.

  • LOL but the groove is natural...I hate using the word sometimes as it's overused but...it's natural...Every bassist has groove...don't they?

  • You'd be surprised...there are many bass players out there who treat bass as a four-string guitar. They have no idea it's a rhythm instrument, how to keep time or work with the drummer, they just riff.

  • I agree that on these Youtube recordings his bass tone is kind of muddy...sounds good on the CD's tho.

  • q vengan a sudamerica a mexico mexico please NIACIN COME TO MEXICO CITY

  • Descomunal banda!!!!!¡para cuando una gira por sudamerica?????? Por favor!!!

  • That's how it meant to be :), did you listen to other Niacin albums?

  • yeah man i know hes one of my favorite players but his sound is like an elephant raping a chiuwawa(over the top much)

  • Hahahahahuaehaeu

  • This band is amazing. I'm a drummer and as much as I appreciate Dennis Chambers, I gotta say that Bill Sheehan is my favorite member.

  • sounds like something on a video game

  • OOH YEAHH! RIDGE RACER!

  • QUE PEDAZO DE BANDA!!!!

  • great !!!

  • bow...

  • I hope these guys come to Pittsburgh one of these days. Most excellent!

  • These guys do some of the most awesome instrumentals. Sure, their stuff sounds like it's straight out of a video game, but that's WHY it's so awesome. Along with the incredible amount of skill possessed by all these musicians. Billy Sheehan is a true virtuoso, and Chambers is a master of the drums. Truly amazing!

  • they are so fucking good !!!

  • Billy Sheehan :D greatest Rockbase player of da Planet yo ;)

  • the bass and keys almost sound like classic yes

  • BS has so many similarities to CS in his style... Bi-amping for instance, and his melodic playing style.

  • yes there both awsome for sure

  • Wow thanks a lot for posting this, I love Niacin, if you have any more post them please! =]
