@experiment0003: Now what kind of stellar mic pre, variety of mics, converter, ..(forget the laser mouse) would cost anywhere within $4995? if you're so hard on a nucleus, then you shouldn't get a converter for less than $2000, neither does a "stellar" mic pre cost less than $2000.. I think you get the picture. Let's not touch the topic of "a variety of mics". The mics alone sound like a $5000 budget if you're NOT going to include an M150.
to bad the Alesis MasterConrtoler is discontinued I bought 1 for 450 saved 500 and still have 8mths warenty it works with any DAW and with protools9 and reason5 w/Record I'm beasting with it and it also has 2 mic pre and dynamic range is 114 in and out compared it to my 003 rack, i like the alesis better so i sold it what i need 2 interfaces for. Does it come with the waves mercery bundle and sslplug ins? if not then FUCK YOU!! SSL Mucous oh I mean Nucleus
@gsagula2 I wouldn't even use it if I got it for free... I'd simply sell it and use the money towards a stellar mic pre, variety of mics, a converter, and a top of the line laser mouse (for better control with editing and automation).

I think the price is justifiable:
-16 fader control surface: $3000
-usb interface (SSL A/D quality): $500
-2 SSL mic pres: $800
-Duende Native bundle: $500
-The SSL brand: $200? (I bet you'd still complain if it were $200 cheaper)
-The innovation that ssl has included.... priceless
