Very nice version man! I like your rythym and the originality of your picking style while at the same time preserving the feel of Page and Plant...sounds great! Kudos!
Awsome job with the guitar playing. Extra kudos for adding lyrics. The song is tough enough to play w/o lyrics. Jimmy is a God and I'm sure he could do it, but once again great job playing and good vocals.
Thanks for saying, tho' he has a point. I actually find that playing fingerpicked passages faster makes it easier for *me* to play consistently but when I play by myself, this has the practical effect of making things too fast. I soof liked how this one turned out, tho'.
Woah, woah, woah, spelling buddy ... way *too* something. You're right! It is too fast. If you believe that tempo is canonical. What's your cover of it sound like?
i don't have one up....but i can post one if you want. haha. i wasn't trying to make you look bad or anything...you were great...just sayin it was too fast.
hey dude would you mind telling where you got a tab? or the music for this? iv looked everywhere and i couldnt find anything so i started making my own version of the mandolin and guitar together. i really like you version.
I don't think many people realize how hard it is to play this the way he did, to keep those octave D's going, play the mandolin parts on the last three strings, and sing?? UNREAL.. Anyone who comments neg. on this better be the absolute sh*t on the axe, but I guess in most countries you're free to be an idiot too!
@Brocker8280 Its' way to hard for me, every month I'll go back and say "Ive gotten better! I can do this now". But when I try it's just as hard as it was before
I'm told I play everything too fast. Starting on the piano when I was 8 or so. Fingerstyle lends itself to that kind of thing, and I'm enough of a Kottke fan to enjoy letting it rip ... but you're right, this might not be the right song to accelerate into. : )
Double drop-d. This means with a thumb on the fat e, and a ring finger on the little e, at the fifth fret ... you're in G. Everything else is mildly modal. Mostly I played it 'til I didn't have to think about it, and then goofed one. Cool tune! Always thought so.
Heh-heh. First thing I ever learned, one note at a time with my pop's classical guitar in front of the turntable (dat's wight, wabbit, I said VINLY). I just stuck a cool old version down there in my "favorites" 'cause I had just that in mind--got a lot of work to do, singin'-wise, tho'. Hard not to want too, when the only Zep thing gets 1,000's of views. I'll do it next.
Ive got a martin myself. Its a 000-28 and i love it.But thats my all time favorite zeppelin song and you just made the best cover of it that ive ever heard..and no you dont sound like plant, but who cares..i think youve got a great and original voice. It works
hey man that was great i figured out how to tune it like your guitar are u a transcriber ? if you have this tabed out it would be cool if you could send it to me
I love Zep. I like how youre sticking to your own style and not trying to sound like Plant. There are a lot of jerks on youtube, the internet, and hell, the world in general. Just keep up the good work if doing this is what you love. I know I wish I could play or sing, so I envy anyone who can. Good work.
Alright, pay attention, kids. *THIS* is how you heckle. Thanks for your input. If it were me, tho'? I'd give the whole puking blood *first* thing a miss. Could just be me ...
all notes dont nessiscerily come from the guitar you where singing at 2.50 your expression and the smirk tells me you know.i know its not exactly what jimmy page played but who cares its not a copy its a cover i meant no offence i loved it your expression at 2.50 was priceless peace bro 5/stars.p.s.i dont no how your pronuncing amadan or what context but it might be "a mad one" as in he's amadan or mad yin(yin being one as in billy connely the big yin-big one)peace bro.
Ah, but that assumes I played the *right* note and the guitar is out of tune. I tend to put those sorts of things down to my own stupidity. Or possibly the Scotch (we call it here). Hey, what does "amadan" mean?
Work? In order to sound like Robert Plant, my voice would need a *career*! I love Zeppelin, but I seldom play electric and don't have ANYTHING like Plant's vocal chops. Then again, they are rock gods, and I'm a dude with a friend with a microphone. But thanks for listening.

This is excellent! And inspiring.
I think I can pick up most of the chords from watching this and looking at tabs.
The one thing I cannot get is the picking pattern. No tabs I have seen have the alternating bass throughout. This looks like a Travis pattern.
Can you share the basic picking pattern with us?
It would be a big help to get closer to approaching this song.
Thanks
