I don't mind reasonable regulation of firearms, and I say this as a person who carries a personal firearm quite regularly for self-defense. I do, however, disagree with the banning of civilian purchase, possession, and usage of personal firearms. I'm not saying that's going to be enacted anytime soon, but if it happens during my lifetime I know I'm not turning my gun in. The only people who win in that situation are criminals, because they're the ones most likely to NOT turn their guns in.

I just enjoy shooting at cans and targets every once in a while. My only concern is the insane rise in ammunition prices since Obama came into office. Everyone is scared that they're not going to be able to buy ammo soon so they've, in some cases, tripled the prices on ammo(specifically hand guns)

I don't mind reasonable regulation of firearms, and I say this as a person who carries a personal firearm quite regularly for self-defense. I do, however, disagree with the banning of civilian purchase, possession, and usage of personal firearms. I'm not saying that's going to be enacted anytime soon, but if it happens during my lifetime I know I'm not turning my gun in. The only people who win in that situation are criminals, because they're the ones most likely to NOT turn their guns in.

Just to let everyone know not all gun owners are nuts. I've got 2 guns and am not in the least bit afraid that someones going to take them. I don't carry them around with me, heck, i don't even hunt. I just enjoy shooting at cans and targets every once in a while. My only concern is the insane rise in ammunition prices since Obama came into office. Everyone is scared that they're not going to be able to buy ammo soon so they've, in some cases, tripled the prices on ammo(specifically hand guns)

the point of not having your guns registered is because that is the first step to removing your guns if they pass a law after one required to register then they can remove any guns they dont like

@spartanunoob That's why police use gun registration to help in investigations. But do you have to register a hunting rifle or a shotgun you bought down at Cabela's? No. Please stop with the senseless "government is taking all your guns" world, it's not happening.

@Macabre215 um actually since my dad has his ffl i am aware of all the firearms laws in my area as well as the federal laws if you were to buy a gun from cabelas and not have to register it that would be breaking federal law buying from any licensed dealer you have to that means any stores or pawn shops or ordering it the only way around this law is with gun shows because most dealers there it is not required to be licensed since its just a person to person deal and registration really only

@Macabre215 helps if the person who owned the gun killed someone otherwise it dosent help worth shit and even then guess what it isnt a tracker or something so it dosent automatically find the killer for you all it is the registration is a piece of paper with a bunch of mostly useless information ive seen a bunch of the sheets myself my dad has to help fill them out plus registration leads to confiscation look at stalin mao hitler mexico england france hell about every country has used it

It is not illegal to not register your firearms. There is no law stating they must be registered in anyway. You can buy, sell, and trade firearms as well.

I have had a concealed weapons permit for over 10 years and have only had to draw it once for the purpose of self defense in North Tulsa when a man approached me with threats of killing me because I dared to be a white man in his part of town. Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns.

I can see how millions of urban citizens have a negative view of guns because the only time they ever hear about them is when someone gets shot, this is unfortunate because they don't understand that the majority of Americans don't use guns for killing people, most hunt or shoot targets. America has always had a deep hunting culture and a lot of urban liberals don,t understand that many people see banning guns as a threat to their way of life.

You're right, the government would never just come after someones guns. They didn't do that in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina crisis. They confiscated over 1000 registered firearms and in order for them to be registered you have to be a law abiding citizen. So basically. . . . they took all the law abiding citizens firearms. I'll let you look up just how many robberies and violent acts went on during the looting and what-not.
