  • This can be a sign of respiratory distress. Mine do this when there is a strong smell in the house, such as cleaners. It can also be the sign of a bacterial infection. This is a serious signal, and could indicate distress on your birds part. It could be regurgitating food as well, but you should really watch any time you see this.

  • He isnt yawning he is regurgitating his food

  • that's not yawning. when they do that, put them in there cage for a minute or give them a drink. i thought that was yawning too.

  • My bird does that too. . . when he's dehydrated.

  • I'm not sure that's yawning, our cockatiel does it too - I always thought it was trying to vomit or something.. ha
