Yawning Cockatiel

This can be a sign of respiratory distress. Mine do this when there is a strong smell in the house, such as cleaners. It can also be the sign of a bacterial infection. This is a serious signal, and could indicate distress on your birds part. It could be regurgitating food as well, but you should really watch any time you see this.

that's not yawning. when they do that, put them in there cage for a minute or give them a drink. i thought that was yawning too.

My bird does that too. . . when he's dehydrated.

I'm not sure that's yawning, our cockatiel does it too - I always thought it was trying to vomit or something.. ha
