  • Kettle Bell Swing, good Hamstring exercise.

  • ça par contre je dis bravo :)

  • I'm pretty sure muscle ups is in RINGS.. and that lady.. worst form on KB swings ever..

Nice WOD though.. i bet it was tough, just don't screw up your back.

  • @Ludizor92 muscle ups can be on bar or rights.

  • nice place to do that

  • song name?

  • @sendow01 HAHAHAHA

  • @sendow01 Silence by The Lambz feat. T-Pain

  • About which that swing everybody is discussing about: They call to overhead the American way and till horizon the Russian manner. Between those I suppose the German swing? lol

  • I feel like crossfit is kind of like a gimmick... I think you get better results just lifting and running.

  • @acat121 Prove it ^^. If you can prove your approach is better, we will look at it and may change our way. And keep having fun ;-)

  • im feeling that this workout is wrong divided... you tire much faster og 30 muscle ups than 72 kettlebell swings... should be less MU or more KS? could that let you do more reps in the same amount of time...?

  • @Richylol of*

  • naze

  • good work!!!!!

  • the whole point i that your body works as a whole function rather than singularly. Body builders would never stand a chance in any type of sport against a crossfitter. Besides, there's a bigger chance you'll get injured through bodybuilding because their body works singular :L

  • @jakeydudey101 Never comment on a workout or any type of fitness video again you have no clue what you are talking about.

  • @jakeydudey101 This comment is retarded.

  • @jakeydudey101 ::::::::::::::::DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD 10/10 you made my day. Ever heard about powerlifters or MMA fighters? They dont do fucking crossfit. Exactly.

  • @bouncygangsta You know google IS your friend (try googling for MMA fighter crossfit check the 4th link that goes to mmatraining website) MMA fighters DO crossfit, powerlifters do look for agility they just want to lift so no use for crossfit. @jackerydudey101 like it or not is correct (again google IS your friend) in how in sport it would be different (ever seen a bodybuilder run a 6 minute mile?) :) hope that helped to clear up a bit the matter. Ty for reading

  • @nahualito i have seen many bodybuilders run a 6 minute mile, and even race against an olympic sprinter /watch?v=Z1-ygiI6_3M

  • @skater506 Ohhh nice, that is a 40 dash right? then!! I stand corrected :) thx for pointing that out and dispelling for me that myth I appreciate it!

  • @jakeydudey101 You're a fucking philosopher.

  • any workout that works for someone else may not work for you! If the workout improves others health why bash it?

  • Why do crossfit muscle ups involve a kip up? If you watch other muscle ups they will keep their body as stiff as a board, but crossfit practitioners always cheat on their muscle ups.

  • @archimodes because its an explosive plyometric movement. each have their benefits... i wouldnt call it cheating

  • @rigatony019 This is true, archimodes, realize that there are different styles of training. Crossfit is all about energy efficiency and explosiveness for the most part. That differs A LOT from a standard bodybuilding mentality where strict form is necessary to stress certain muscles only. DO I AGREE with the kipping and what type of unnecessary stress it can put on the joints?... That's a whole different story. But a muscle-up is a muscle-up... cheating or not.

  • good work

  • ha, I did a session of crossfit and if anyone thinks these guys are going too slow, consider yourself an idiot! You gotta have ballz to do crossfit, ask any navy seal!

  • Why do you all care about these workouts??? Just try it, keep an open mind, if you dont like it...dont do it, but why give people shit for trying to improve there life?

  • !great work guys...looks tough. but apparently a lot of fools on this board think that it's a cake walk.

you two keep doing your thing!!!

  • Gosh...all these comments are simply hilarious you all sound like a bunch of scientists debating the simple act of exercise. God all this going back and fourth is sickening.

...i think you know how this comment should end...

  • and again the KB swing is wrong form!

  • Can this guy go any slower?

  • @clay6789 can you go any faster?

  • That chick is hot.

  • CrossFit is so elite. I don't know one elite athlete in A REAL SPORT that can swing a 20kg kettlebell or do bar muscle ups. Olympic level athletes need to get with the program and start taking advice from a drunk fat gymnast that no one has ever heard of.

  • That pink kettlebell looks freaking heavy lol

  • excellent job both of you!

  • Fucking Elite. Kill Those WODS and BREATH FIRE!

  • looks cold outside....

  • @gogonge no it doesnt

  • squat lower on those swings man!

  • @plunixx he's using the most efficient movement. kettlebell swings are a hip extension move. Knees should be soft locked, and bend a bit, but definitely not squat.

  • @plunixx swings are from between the legs to overhead. There's no rule about squatting down all the way

  • @captainampersand swings aren't supposed to be overhead at all.....swings terminate roughly at shoulder height. They're NOT shoulder exercises, it's a posterior chain movement.

  • @nickburnin8 It doesn't matter how you might want to define it. If we're talkinga about CrossFit, then the CrossFit definition of a "kettlebell swing" requires overhead and does not require squatting. For reference see the "exercises" section of the CrossFit site

  • @captainampersand a CrossFit kettlebell swing.....isn't a kettlebell swing. Just because CrossFit defines it differently doesn't make it so. If Crossfit can teach snatching, double-unders, and deadlifts, it should be able to teach pull-ups and kb swings.

The purpose of the restricted range is to emphasize ONLY the posterior chain and supportive postural muscles in a "rapid-fire, multirep" exercise. Also, the depth of a squat isn't judged by the bend of the knees, but by the angle of the hips.

  • @nickburnin8 I agree those are not kettlebell swings.

  • @captainampersand I'll stick with Pavel Tsatsouline's definitions for kettlebell work, as they've been working pretty well for over 10 years for me. CrossFit's approach to the kettlebell is tragic.

  • @nickburnin8 So you're arguing against the principles of crossfit rather than what is considered the official prescription in a crossfit WOD. That's a different matter. Your argument may be valid and I have no strong opinion either way. I will say that I find doing the swing overhead is more exhausting if your goal is mostly "metcon"

  • @captainampersand I train to play sports. Specifically rugby. CrossFit trains to.....train. The principles of CrossFit are better than what used to pass as "bro knowledge" at gyms, but they're a far way from training for a sport or for combat. Training to train is cyclical and pointless.

  • @nickburnin8 as opposed to training to shove a bunch of men around wearing collar shirts and headgear? Life is cyclical and pointless. Love what you love and don't worry about what gets other people out of bed in the morning.

  • @nickburnin8 Not if that's your sport. Some people run marathons, some people cycle. Look at pro strongmen. They train just to get good at lifting heavy things. These people train to lift light to moderate weight many times. It's like criticizing a basketball player because his training doesn't prepare him for boxing.

I extrapolate from CF but I also lift for strength. I'm not preparing for Rugby because I don't play it. But I don't CF at the expense of getting strong either.

  • @LexPhilogus The question I'm asking is what ARE crossfitters preparing for? I understand that some of the methods used in CrossFit, specifically the gymnastic oriented WODs, have very broad application to a variety of sports. But what is to be gained by bastardizing a kb swing? or doing cleans for reps? I run marathons, work in agility training, and lift for power using mostly lower body barbell exercises and calisthenics because that's what my positions, outside center and wing, demand.

  • @nickburnin8 Well, you might as well ask what a recreational bodybuilder is preparing for. They've invented their own sport it seems and they obviously care about how many burpies they can do. Some people wouldn't care about that in other sports, but then cross fitters might say they don't care about running a 20 mile marathon. In terms of preparation, the workouts are geared more towards a general preparedness as opposed to being really good at anything specific.

  • @LexPhilogus marathons are 26.2 miles... =P

  • @iMStaTuS Thanks for splitting that hair for me. Now tell me if the glass is half full or half empty. I want to know your thoughts.

  • @LexPhilogus xD chill out. its youtube.

  • @iMStaTuS lol

  • @LexPhilogus =)

  • @captainampersand Don't get me wrong, it's encouraging to see olympic lifts and power lifts treated with some respect again, as well as calisthenics. Those of us who look train for specific goals have known that training to failure is pointless, strength is a product of coordination and neural conditioning (as opposed to muscle mass), and that upper body work is drastically overrated.

Needless to say, this guys form ain't too shabby on the MUs, as it's all in the hips.

  • @nickburnin8 This is what's so funny about all this criticism. You could use Pavel's technique instead of the one showed in the video. People gripe a lot about kipping. Okay, then just do real pull ups with the circuit if you so desire.

  • @LexPhilogus Except that the religious CrossFit fanatics that run gyms complain that Pavel's technique on kettlebells, which is the ONLY technique, isn't stimulative enough. Likewise, they use cleans for cardio (anaerobic endurance) conditioning. This is analogous to running marathons for lower-body development. Just because there's more than one way to skin a cat doesn't mean there isn't a best way to skin said cat.

  • @nickburnin8 I agree with everything said here.

  • @nickburnin8 "Likewise, they use cleans for cardio (anaerobic endurance) conditioning. This is analogous to running marathons for lower-body development"

I don't agree with this actually. Doing cleans is nothing like running a marathon because it's way too intense. But you'll just say, "why not do wind sprints?" I play regular endurance sports like soccer and basketball, but I see nothing wrong with using this stuff to add variety. I like variety even though I can't prove that it's necessary.

  • nice workout

  • very fit!

  • put a music under the vid.. makes it more fun to watch :P

Good work out, keep on going like that!

  • Great work - both of you!!
