everyone hated on tyson cuz he was great they fuckin jinxed him and gave him the evil eye. he knew it too and ppl did indeed ruin him more then he already was. thats fucked up! ppl are fuckin evil and the devil and i relate to what he went thru that shit causes alot of fuckin damage mentally! god bless him i know hes in a better place im happy for him mad love for him as a person!

At the time douglas and tyson was going thru something in there life tyson wasnt training he was burning (STD) trainers left CUS died. this was the best douglas looked ever he motivation after his mom died he dedicated the fight to her he was amped up. But he should have lost because tyson knocked him down but the ref did a long count it should have been over douglas was down for 12 sec Tyson is one of the greatest boxers of all time only thing messed him up was his out the ring antics bad temp

@MultiHead1 , Uh wrong. Trainers did not leave, Tyson fired them because he was foolish enough to listen to Don King and Robin Givens. Tyson didn't have the mental or emotioanl maturity of a grown man and paid the price. After going to prison, he was clearly using steroids and had no boxing skills left.

@benmacabre one of them did leave because tyson tried to rape his daughter he just wasnt training listen to his story he had alot going on at the time he fought douglas. They both had alot going on. i cant remember the trainer but he was cus right hand man now he all over tv doing the comentating.

Do you think the fight may have been fixed? Was Mike forced in some way to throw the fight?? If you recall in the pre-fight interviews how certain he was in winning and that no man would ever be able to beat him. He said these things almost in jest. Interesting...If you look at the fight, all of his punches for the first 7 rounds were not thrown with bad intentions. They did start getting harder beginning with the 8th round knockdown but they still were not close to what Mike was capable of...

@Mintcar923 100% certain it was NOT fixed. Makes no sense. I'd bet my house on it. Tyson had no reason to lose THAT BAD to Buster. even for a big payday. 1 big payday is not worth the dozens of paydays Tyson was bringing. Multi millions a fight against ANYONE!

no excuses for tyson, but you could tell he didn't train good when the fight started. He didn't come out with his head bobbing, he was nowhere near as fast as he was in his previous fights. Being lazy's no excuse, but it was real frustrating to see the champ not fulfilling his potential..

Nah the truth is that Mike didn't take the fight seriously. He thought he'd easily win like he did against everyone else, but he was wrong. If he took the fight seriously and actually trained like he should have, he would've eaten Douglas alive.

RealFearless , Tyson couldnt " destroy" James Tillis , BoneCrusher Smith , Mitch Green or Tony Tucker in his so called " prime"( which was 2 fights evidently LMAO) . Why would he have destroyed Douglas . Watch the Tillis fight , it's similar to this one except Tillis cant punch and is a lot smaller than Douglas .

To this day people make excuses for Tyson. Stop it. Buster caught lightening in a bottle that night. He fought a near perfect fight that he'd never be able to duplicate. Any true boxing fan can watch the tape and see that Buster was the agressor from the bell, had the faster hands, and threw combos that neither tyson or even buster himself had ever seen....unbelievable and unstoppable combinations!! On this night, buster would've beaten Ali....yes i said it. Study the tape.

@brookswrld listen..there were excuses..don king as tyson said was bringing women every night in hi room and he had to loose 8 kg before the fight before he had to fight(rooney said that) and also said that his ass was having a party after he fired him...on the other hand douglas lost his mother,separated with his wife and along he was considered as nothing in front of tyson..and because no matter how big you are you cant fight if you not mentally prepared,see what happened on the 10nth round..

Seeing Ali perform miracles such as beating Liston twice,Fraizer once (Consider the second win a draw),Foreman (Foreman didn't want to fight him again after RITJ) Floyd Patterson,Ken Norton,Earnie Shavers (Hardest Puncher ever), Leon Spinks (not impressive in my opinion but the guy was an old fart fighting this guy). So I can't' see Douglas beat Ali. Ali's chin was legendary

Had Tyson trained at all, this fight would've been more competitive. But Tyson overlooked Douglas, you never overlook an opponent, no matter how less skilled he is.
