You could install clear waters mod. Which makes water clear.

You can also install water displacement mod. Which let's you place torches underwater

notch should add like a little submarine so then you should add a torpedo tube to launch it... or may be theres submarine mod, i haven't seen one but that would be cool

of isf you don't want the hole theroy then use this:you need a 2 high space and andother 2 high space next to it like your little walkway in+out of your submarine and put signs in there to stop the squid from swimming near that little exit/entrance. oh and the little problem with this theroy is thet they will still come there, you will just stop them from going far in that little spot. or mybe a door that you keep open because doors also create a "air space" when inder water, place it at sub.

i got a few things to say,squid don't spawn there, they swim in random directions until they find a water block that is lower than they are in and they go in it, this can be solved by putting a few holes in the center to stop squids from going into your submarine. P.S. it realy does look like a submarine like the finsof the submarine maybe if you ut like a little window at the front and then a few buttons/switches to make it look like a "driver's section" and sorry this is so long.
