This originally aired the week before Christmas (December 18, 1956) during the last season of "DuPONT THEATER", on ABC [Tuesdays, 9:30-10pm(et)]. There was only one "intermission" during the program, to allow DuPont to either "pitch" one of their chemical marvels, and how they sometimes partnered with other businesses to enable to "help each other". You don't find that kind of advertising on TV these days. "Next week" was their final Christmas episode in the series, "Three Young Kings"...
The scene at 00:44 is classic . . family sitting in their paneled living room . . Dad smoking his pipe . . gun rack on the wall . . and the TV is OFF ! ! !

I miss the old Christmas shows that were about the true meaning of Christmas.

I take it it blew you away. Ya I noticed that to. Back in 1956 there were over 32 westerns & detetive shows on tv, so guns were everywhere.
