Does a podcast have to be you or with a group of friends talking about a certain topic? Or can you just have a regular conversation. I don't mean like 'Hello, how are you? I'm fine' type of conversation but the type you would have with your friends? Making lame jokes and laughing at each other :P

Um, seriously? I'm 13 years old, and I'm uploading podcasts. I just use my phone and record me and my friend's voice for one minute behind the gym. And we don't have a certain topic each podcast. We just make it up as we go along. We make like 2 or 3 every day and then I just convert the AAV file to MP3 and upload it to Windows Movie Maker and add an image and viola! It's a podcast. Plus I add the MP3 download link so people can add it to their iPod or something.

Ok I'm using Windows, I need an alternative to Ubercaster to fade in and out other sounds with my voice, ala live radio... Like for example playing a sound while me talking, without needing an actual mixer to fade in different tracks and maybe fade out my voice... Any advice on that?

Where did you get your microphone stand? I've seen that type a few times in other video podcasts but can't seem to locate it myself.

Is there any benefit to mounting the microphone upside down rather than right side up?

Ebay. Search for Microphone Arm or something similar. I have a condenser mic and I can position it one of two ways, there is no real benefit for me to put it upside down as long as it's facing the right direction.

yes, Ubercaster has an edit section which looks very similar to Garageband. You can edit each track from there.  Sometimes when I make mistakes and I need to fix something, I use this.
