Woah, did your Angelwing have a plasmatorch engine? I forget what it looks like on the Angelwing. Never cared fore plasmatorch myself. Stuck with fusion till antimatter, and got lightrider for the dests.
@HitodamaKyrie It's been two years back but I think I always upgraded the engine whenever I could. In retrospect your way is more conservative but it takes a bit longer to get somewhere. Maybe I took it because with the speed I could dodge more? Anyways I'll play the game again during a nostalgia moment and see why I did it.
@ab123110 Yeah, I often wanted to upgrade at that point, but I found the plasmatorch lacking for a reason I can't recall. Though I think I did give it to one of the dests for the hell of it. Probably the Brutus.
I'm actually thinking about doing a Let's Play of Nexus. =D
@HitodamaKyrie You should. I keep bouncing this idea of doing an LP about some of the old games I've got. I never had the chance because of hardrive space restrictions. But now I bought this new computer and once I've got the time I'll try to do an LP and see how it goes from there.
You cant disable the field, you have to shoot the bug untill it dies.
Only then can you move in safely. Angel will remind you that you shouldn't destroy the Queen. I think they put that in during playtesting because I always forget to stop shooting, thank god they put that warning in.
@zgrillo2004 - Don't buy from them, and if you use a subscription service try and avoid listening to their releases on it. Having said that, it would be nice if people would use music from the games they upload rather than the obligatory Evanescence / Linkin Park / Requiem for a Tower.

When I first did this mission the locust queen was a..WTF..moment
Due to previous encounters with locust, I did the righ thing and stocked up on fighters, to combat theirs
another strategy taht i use (for no particular reason) is say, for the gorg station mission
Once they got the shield down, I sent out all of my fighters with my commando unit, so that the commandos would get in and destroy the fortshield...the fighters soaked up point defense

Yeah but Sins of a Solar Empire is an RTS game and Nexus is a Tactical Fleet Simulator. And may I add the only real good TFS out there! Atleast to my knowledge.

The Queen is more annoying than deadly, given that you can't stop her stupid fighter ships and she'll slowly damage your ships if you get too close. You're pretty much forced to use the Siege Laser against her.
Despite the reduction in quality, this is still a good piece of work. The massively powerful Siege Laser sound really should have remained, though. It's one of the best sounds in the game!
i cant stand how the angelwing looks i prefer a ship like the Sliletto or a (omega destroyer from babylon 5)

Yeah I died a few times during the first few tries. I wanted to have the sound still in it but Fraps didn't record it for some strange reason...
Sorry for the reduced quality, don' know how to get better quality.

That's odd; FRAPS should record the sound just fine. Have you tried fiddling with the settings a bit?
