@Theanimeman21 You have no idea how amazing this game is. I personally would recommended it to anyone who hasn't played it. The thing is, is that it's just one of those games that didn't get the recognition it deserved back in '08, kind of like what we have now.
Pros: 1) 3rd Person View option!! 2) Wall hug tactic 3) Fully customiziable characters and PS Eye Face 4) Tactical gameplay 5) Character models look great! These all differentiate it and place it above BF and MW in my opinion as those two are simple run and gun games. Cons: 1) Environmental graphics...bland 2) Audio bugs (cutting out, echoing,etc) 3) AI goofs on enemies (although no game is perfect)
I beat both Vegas and Vegas 2. Both are good, but the first one was better. The casino levels are more fun to look at and play in than the settings this game has. Aside from the rankings/ACES system and the sprint button (handy, but not a game-changer) the core gameplay isn't all that different.
i whish there open world game like this, with all the covert ways to kill people, like far cry, but with teams and it's in a war torn city like new york. can you imagine grappling down empire state building, and breakn in through the windows, awesome!

Fuck ups in review: ACES have 100 levels each, you do not unlock equipment, ACES are not as inventive as COD 4 yet they are a HELL of allot more balanced, he didn't mention ranks at all, he mentioned clearing rooms but he didn't mention all the options, he said the coop player feels more like a spectator when the only difference between him and player 1 is squad control, and he said that P2 can't call mission objectives, what? P1 can't place objectives either.

This game looks good, compared to cod, its a different game and i know that its probably advertising or IGN are a bunch of COD nerds,but rainbow six vegas 2 is awesome. My cousin brought it over, and i couldn't get enough of it. I probably played about 8 hours in total while he was here and that whole time i was playing terrorist hunt. I didn't even go into the campaign and thats a good sign for me showing that I can be entertained by the smallest parts of the game, I am going to get this soon.

@bAnGeDcLiEnT1 Not only that but COD is one of the worst FPS games out there. What with the poor AI and the dated animations. I stopped playing them after COD 3 because the series failed to keep up with the innovations of the genre. Black ops is the same as COD 4 and that is abysmal. The multiplayer is dated as fuck and is less enjoyable than freeware games like combat arms. It is a mystery why COD is reviewed so highly. My guess is backroom deals like the movie industry.
@TacticalHub Well one thing cod do well is the controlls, they are tight and feels just right. But the campagn feels just like a interactive movie, you are constantly forced to scripted stuff and a single path. And the fact that it is just the same game over and over and over again. No cod gets good reviews becaus it is popular, reviewers today only give good reviews to popular games and of corse they get paid to do so.
@TheXLink They are solid enough. No complaints with that although I do find the BC2 controls to be more intuitive and easy to use on the fly. The RS crouch means that you can duck and weave while still aiming. Also on COD you cant reload and Sprint at the same time. You also have to wait for the reload animations to finish before melee attacking. ON BC2 the Melee interrupts any animation. You are right that the game is just a cinematic with intermittent shooting gallery and some "TAP X" bits.
@TacticalHub I will play any FPS that has some new innovation even if the actual game is shit. Just to see whether that innovation with be adopted by the genre as a whole in the future. The Vegas cover system for example is great and I hope that soon no FPS will be without it. It is more realistic and is how the military conducts an exchange of fire. On black ops the NPCs run at each other and often past each other.
@TacticalHub Have you tried Swat 4? It is like Rainbow but not exactly. You don't shoot all the time, you try to make the bad guys give up so you can take them alive, and you need to get civilians, guns, and report killed civilians and badguys. And the enemies and civilians is random each time you play a level, even if you die and try again, it is alot of fun and tons of challenge.
@TheXLink Loved swat 4. It is another criminally underrated series. And another example of an innovation that has been adopted by other games. Left4dead randomises the position and amount of Zombies which makes the game different every time you play it. That is one of the reasons why Left4dead2 is still massively popular on xbox live.
@TacticalHub I mostly play games that extend the gameplay, like games that randomise enemies, and open world games. I got so dissepointed when I got Cod 3 in my teen years and paid 40 bucks for it and beat it in one day, then a game like Swat 4 that have so much more to do, and can randomise the levels, AND you can make your own missions to, well it is easy to see what game that gave more bang for the buck. And Perfect Dark is another game that just pack tons of gamplay and stuff to do.

He would say " Experience points let you customize your looks but its not as deep as a game like Halo Reach. i really like this game but the problems i had was the body armor. apparently if you level up, you get these god like body armor. i remember renting this game and playing multiplayer. i was shooting some enemies directly and they were able to withstand the bullets, turn in my direction and kill me with a couple of shots. i don't know about you but that is pretty game breaking to me. plus lag. those were my main reasons for not buying this game even if it's $10 now. has this problem been fixed.
the only thing i don't like about this game is the way some weapons look in 1st Person...take a look at...i don't know the FAMAS. it's a bit ugly. HOWEVER since i spend 90% of the time in cover (AKA in 3rd Person) this is SUCH a small "problem" for me that i couldn't care less. in other words...this game is AWESOME!!! ^^
You make a good point. I noticed some of the gun models looked strange from the first person view (because we're not used to seeing these guns from the unappealing angle). The TAR21, FAMAS, P90 are quite ugly ducklings. The XM8 looks like a metal-coated football. Most of the other guns look good though, M468 and MP5 in particular feel empowering and look great. Thoughts?

You know, you can often tell the intelligence of a person by the games they play. By numbers alone, the vast majority of COD players are less intelligent than other gamers. That being said, I play COD sometimes but it's mediocre at best and only fun sometimes. If you're looking for a good shooter then go with something like RS:V2 or Battlefield 2: Bad Company. They're amazing tactical shooters and not just mindless running 'n gunning. They take real skill and teamwork not luck.

The game is good for the xbox 360 and ps3. But the only thing that bothers me is the explosions. when grenades go off, the explosions sounds just like in the previous rainbow six series

The animations and voice acting in this game are horrible, but the gun sounds are good. The fucking frag grenades sound like hollow plastic balls when they hit the ground, and are thrown like fucking shot-puts. The game lags considerably even on single player (oh, and the sounds lag too), not to mention the mediocre graphics.
I think this game is better than Black Ops. I played Black Ops with my friends for about 2 hours and then decided to play Vagas 2. Vagas 2 terrorist hunt is great with a party of friends and co-op story mode. You can play this game over and over. Another great fun game is Gears of War 2:)))

I still play this to the day, one of my favourite games and I've never even touched competitive multiplayer.
While there are 100 ACES levels for each category, you stock unlocking things at about 20 and it just goes to experience points at each rank up.

Any honest reviewer would have given it anymore than a 6, based on the outdated waw graphics, generic gameplay ripped off of cod mw2, crap gameplay mechanics and it's rubbish game community composed of smacktalking 5 year olds. @bAnGeDcLiEnT1 Not only that but COD is one of the worst FPS games out there. What with the poor AI and the dated animations. I stopped playing them after COD 3 because the series failed to keep up with the innovations of the genre. Black ops is the same as COD 4 and that is abysmal. The multiplayer is dated as fuck and is less enjoyable than freeware games like combat arms. It is a mystery why COD is reviewed so highly. My guess is backroom deals like the movie industry.

@TacticalHub Well one thing cod do well is the controlls, they are tight and feels just right. But the campagn feels just like a interactive movie, you are constantly forced to scripted stuff and a single path. And the fact that it is just the same game over and over and over again. No cod gets good reviews becaus it is popular, reviewers today only give good reviews to popular games and of corse they get paid to do so.

@TheXLink They are solid enough. No complaints with that although I do find the BC2 controls to be more intuitive and easy to use on the fly. The RS crouch means that you can duck and weave while still aiming. Also on COD you cant reload and Sprint at the same time. You also have to wait for the reload animations to finish before melee attacking. ON BC2 the Melee interrupts any animation. You are right that the game is just a cinematic with intermittent shooting gallery and some "TAP X" bits.

@TacticalHub I will play any FPS that has some new innovation even if the actual game is shit. Just to see whether that innovation with be adopted by the genre as a whole in the future. The Vegas cover system for example is great and I hope that soon no FPS will be without it. It is more realistic and is how the military conducts an exchange of fire. On black ops the NPCs run at each other and often past each other.

@TacticalHub Have you tried Swat 4? It is like Rainbow but not exactly. You don't shoot all the time, you try to make the bad guys give up so you can take them alive, and you need to get civilians, guns, and report killed civilians and badguys. And the enemies and civilians is random each time you play a level, even if you die and try again, it is alot of fun and tons of challenge.

@TheXLink Loved swat 4. It is another criminally underrated series. And another example of an innovation that has been adopted by other games. Left4dead randomises the position and amount of Zombies which makes the game different every time you play it. That is one of the reasons why Left4dead2 is still massively popular on xbox live.

@TacticalHub I mostly play games that extend the gameplay, like games that randomise enemies, and open world games. I got so dissepointed when I got Cod 3 in my teen years and paid 40 bucks for it and beat it in one day, then a game like Swat 4 that have so much more to do, and can randomise the levels, AND you can make your own missions to, well it is easy to see what game that gave more bang for the buck. And Perfect Dark is another game that just pack tons of gamplay and stuff to do.

i really like this game but the problems i had was the body armor. apparently if you level up, you get these god like body armor. i remember renting this game and playing multiplayer. i was shooting some enemies directly and they were able to withstand the bullets, turn in my direction and kill me with a couple of shots. i don't know about you but that is pretty game breaking to me. plus lag. those were my main reasons for not buying this game even if it's $10 now. has this problem been fixed.

the only thing i don't like about this game is the way some weapons look in 1st Person...take a look at...i don't know the FAMAS. it's a bit ugly. HOWEVER since i spend 90% of the time in cover (AKA in 3rd Person) this is SUCH a small "problem" for me that i couldn't care less. in other words...this game is AWESOME!!! ^^

You make a good point. I noticed some of the gun models looked strange from the first person view (because we're not used to seeing these guns from the unappealing angle). The TAR21, FAMAS, P90 are quite ugly ducklings. The XM8 looks like a metal-coated football. Most of the other guns look good though, M468 and MP5 in particular feel empowering and look great. Thoughts?

You know, you can often tell the intelligence of a person by the games they play. By numbers alone, the vast majority of COD players are less intelligent than other gamers. That being said, I play COD sometimes but it's mediocre at best and only fun sometimes. If you're looking for a good shooter then go with something like RS:V2 or Battlefield 2: Bad Company. They're amazing tactical shooters and not just mindless running 'n gunning. They take real skill and teamwork not luck.

The animations and voice acting in this game are horrible, but the gun sounds are good. The fucking frag grenades sound like hollow plastic balls when they hit the ground, and are thrown like fucking shot-puts. The game lags considerably even on single player (oh, and the sounds lag too), not to mention the mediocre graphics.

I think this game is better than Black Ops. I played Black Ops with my friends for about 2 hours and then decided to play Vagas 2. Vagas 2 terrorist hunt is great with a party of friends and co-op story mode. You can play this game over and over. Another great fun game is Gears of War 2:)))
