Hickock I heard something that scared me. I heard that the 22 23 27 have chambers that are not fully supporting the case, and that it causes the gun to blow up, have you ever heard or seen of anything like that?
Since you are also a supporter of the Glock 23, how about a video of the Lone Wolf drop in 9mm conversion barrel? They make a threaded one too for suppressors and such. :)
well hickok you did it again i had to get th 23 gen 4 it is a good shooter thank's for the info i put about 400 rounds in it no problem's i didnt think thear would be after all it's a glock
hickok45 i have normal hands so thats why i need one of the two or three 23 19 you know my police friend in jamaica tell me about the 27 but its too big
Hickok! I finally got my glock. I decided to go with the 23 (gen 4) and I love it. Thank you for all of your reviews, your intelligence, and your humor. You rock!
@JosephCee .40 is a stronger caliber than 9mm (although it's debatable how much practical difference that makes). It's a cheaper round than .45 ACP, but more expensive than 9mm. It should be fairly easy to find.
not sure that model was available then .but had it been it would b an obvious choice.by the way glock magazines are some of the best if not the best mags ever produced.the magazine in a auto.pistol is one the most important parts, for obvious reasons.not so sure about springfields, and smiths and others.good guns though.to each his own i guess.
i can sure understand why your thrilled with this hangun hickok.i have now a 20,26,30sf,29,.if i could only have one it would b the 23,got one a while back and while they are all perfect for me, the 23 is more than perfect. It seems to b way more controlable in rapid fire.not that thats all important.anyways its seems made for my hand.its sweet , petite sweetie as you say..every now and then they get it right . i suggest to all try one out.maybe this should have been the replacement for the 1911
@K1200BMW1j, I've seen a few steel guns with the metal peeled back from blowing up ( Colt SAA, shotguns, etc.), but I've never seen a polymer frame blown up.
@hickok45 A nearby Police Dept. had trouble with the Glock 21s they were using. Several blew the chambers out and from the looks of the photos I saw, the men were lucky not to lose a hand or at least a few fingers. However, my hunch is they were running souped up +P ammo.I do not know enough about the Glocks to know whether they are all +P rated or not but these were defenitely blowing out the side right about where the chamber is located. Not sure what else may cause that in a great gun
I purchased the Gen 4 g23 after watching YOUR video and I couldn't be happier!! For $539.00 plus tax you get 3 mags and a slightly smaller grip that makes the Glock perfect in my hands I added truglow night sites and a stainless steel spring and guide rod from the glock store Thank you for taking the time to make this Video Hickok45
@MrTianak69 Get the 23. With that you can buy the conversion stuff from Lone Wolf and have a 40, 9mm, and 357 Sig. 9mm for practice, load it for defense for 40, or whatever please you
Gen4 Glock23 is awesome... Perfect in size and best round. Just my opinion. But what can I say, its a Glock there all awesome. I bought my gen 4 G23 when I got my conceal permit and it rides along with me everyday of my life. Hickok45, great video.....
Hickok45, I would like to thank you for creating your channel. After watching as many of your Glock videos as I could find, I knew I had to have a Glock. Long story short, this video sold me on the Glock 23 Gen 4 and I just went out and bought one brand new and I have to say, I am thrilled with it. I recently got my concealed permit and this is my first handgun. I think it's safe to say you have created another Glock enthusiast.
Hickok! Why is my Gen4 Glock 23 shooting to the right? I just bought it and notice the problem today. I heard from somebody that this was a common problem with Glocks. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it?
@DrScotchDrinker2, I would not listen to "somebody" too much. I've had thirty or forty Glocks over the years, I guess. I don't think I've had even one that did not shoot right on.
@hickok45 I just purchased my first glock.I'm not new to shooting though. My glock 23 gen4 in 40cal is having all kinds of problems.I am not bashing glocks I like the pistol.I have had alot of FTE in several types,a few FTF and the brass is being really damaged on ejection.the guy at the gun shop gave me no time really and passed it off as limp risting.I know better,I'am no pro but that is not the issue.Any tips or help on this would be great.
@livetooshoot12 I plan to return to the gun shop.I will be showing the man all the damaged brass!Maybe then he will give me some of his time, instead of just passing it off to the over used( limp risting) reason.
@DrScotchDrinker2 the only thing i can think of is your ammo... glock is one of the most dependable firearms made. try switching it up, or try changing your shooting style, you might just be pulling right.
@DrScotchDrinker2 The only times I've seen this is when someone's messed with the rear sight. Like most modern guns, Glocks are tested and sighted in before they leave the factory. The rear sight is "sort of" windage adjustable in that the rear sight sits in a dovetail. You can move it around slightly by tapping it with a punch. Don't do it too much though, as you can loosen the sight this way.
Just got one last weekend. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment from this gun. I bought a glock 22 in 1996 (got stolen in 2010) and never had ANY, not one, problem through all those years.
Hi im 15 and was wanting to ask my dad for a new gun. I was wanting something more than a 22 . I have shot this gun and liked it but was wondering if anyone thought something else would be better.
@GoProGunner I think glocks are great, but I grew up with Sigs ever since I was 13. A good competitor to the Glock 23 would be S&W M&P or Springfield XD, I'm sure there's more out there but those two were the first in my mind. Glocks are great simply, easy accessories to find, and wide variety of modifications you can do.
@Thermalshock The Glock 23 gen4 is a very reliable firearm, so is the gen3 it just depends how much you are willing to spend. I hope this was helpful to you.
Hi Hickok, can you please respond. I wanted to ask you how has the reliability been on the gen 4 g23. I wanna buy me a G23 and I wanted a gen 4 but I know some gen 4 models have had reliability issues..I don't know if the 23 was one, I don't know if they fix the problems or what, I'm in the dark here. Should I just stick to a gen 3? Or should I just go for the gen 4? What's your opinion sir?
FYI, you can buy a 9mm barrel and mags for the Mod23Gen4. It works perfectly allowing you to carry the 40Cal for protection and change to the 9mm barrel and mags for cheaper target practice. It's like having two guns in one.
@jabara83 If you're looking for self-defense, .40 S&W is the way to go, but it's much cheaper to buy a 9mm if you're just going to shoot for fun. I'd personally go with a Glock 23, but the Glock 19 comes in as a close second.
You Americans are so lucky, i hope you appreciate having the freedom to shoot there! I live in a place where they make it a hassle for gun owners and it really pisses me off! Shoot a mag for me! Thanx for your reviews, great entertainment anyway..
American's are no longer free. One restriction at a time= tyranny. "Shall not infringe"...but yet we have a "telephone book size of rules" created by the thugs at the BATFE and yet we take it in the "ass". Pathetic.
@513Scotchpagan we do?! I'm a fellow Ohioan, by transplant not by birth or choice -_-.. I walked in picked out my 26 and had the instant check down over the phone. I was out within an hour. I'm not sure if the laws have changed because this was in December, and the last time I purchased a handgun (a 226) was about eight years ago.
@hickok45 - new subscriber here. Thanks for the firearms 101, 102, and 103, its been great. I'm all set to get my first glock. It's a model 21 gen 4. Getting a really great deal from a friend of a ffl dealer. Shou
debating between this and the glock 19 for my first pistol. ive shot pistols before, and i hear the gen 4 cures the snappy 40 recoil, but im still having trouble picking between the 40 and the 9. help anyone?
@paintballers ya dude i actually figured that out a few days ago, and really i dont see anything wrong with that plan at all :) its like 2 guns in one
@Xevamir -- The G19 and the G23 are almost identical in dimensions and weight so the conceal-ability and carry are the same. Your choice is the round you prefer. .40 S&W has become much more popular in law enforcement than 9mm due to higher 1-shot stopping performance in the field. If you need smaller/lighter, check out the G27. Awesome little weapon. Hickok's got a good video on it too. (IMO for a first weapon, a full frame is easier to learn on though.)
@cybertek3188 Depends on where you buy the ammo really. The only ammo you should be worried about being expensive is probally a 44 or a 30 cal. And I don't think you can buy 50 cal, you might be able to, but I don't know.
Yea Hickok I hear ya, it is amazing that we have that privilege to go out and buy guns, but that's how it should be! It's an amendment for god sakes!!!!!
Just sold my 27 gen 4... I liked it alot at first but decided I wanted something smaller and thinner to carry like a kahr.. But I'll be picking up my 23 gen 4 next week, can't wait!!!
I own a Ruger P95 9mm. I've shot over 5k rounds since I bought it in 08 and I swear I've never had a failure to fire. It's been the most reliable gun I've ever owned.
I am hearing alot of buzz on how the 23 gen4 has alot of failures about 50/50 some say no probs at all. I was wondering if you had any problems i am looking to buy one pls help
where do you get your ammunition from, i always see you have tubs full of bullets lol i would like that, do you get it at a cheaper price somewhere/ Bulk?
@vcMalice The whole idea is "if everybody doesn't own a gun, you do not need one for self defense". But the REAL shame is we (the people) have to defend ourselves from the cops. Corrupt and trigger happy motherf*ckers.
@mattkletz13 But I guess I shouldn't forsake my country for a GLOCK. :) Wind of change is blowing this way. Politically, our country is moving to oust the current government this coming election. Our Opposition leader was acquitted in court from sodomy (rape) charges. The government cannot find other means to get rid of him hence cook up an absurd story. Once the Opposition sits in government, I am sure many politicians will be prosecuted for corruption.
How do you like the new texture on the grip? Planning on putting grip tape on the Gen4 as well or does the new texture work well enough without grip tape?
I've heard people have had bad experiences with the Gen 4, but I've never had a problem yet.. idk haven't put a crazy amount of rounds through it tho..
Can't wait to get back from Germany in a few months to buy my G23 Gen4, It is too bad that I can't have it over here with me, but i do look forward to getting home on leave to have some fun. hikok45, thanks for the great videos
Hey Hickok I just recently bought a Glock 23 Gen 4 n I'm having an issue with it erratically ejecting some rounds towards my face I called glock n they said they're sending me out the new recoil spring that will prevent that from happening...but I was curious to see if maybe it was the extractor or the ejector giving me that problem n not the spring? Any ideas on what it could be?
lol i did realy expected the glock still has got one bullit in the chamber and it will shoot at 8:00 and hits all the other bullets that gonna fire then lol
How are you enabled to load your magazines so easily. Do you shoot you guns constantly to loosten up the springs before your videos. I loaded a glock 23 with .40 S&W and once I got past the 7th or 8th round in the magazine I started to have to use a rediculous amount of force. The gun wasnt shot once so I figured the sping was just tense but I wasnt quiet sure.
@reL3ntless4LiFe load it fully than leave the mag loaded for a week or 2. you should see a big diff in the spring tension while putting those last few rd's in. i do this with all mybrand new mags

Hickok, any issues with this one?
J1Z06 2 months ago
Hey Hickok, I got myself a g23 gen 4 because of this video and I love it!!! If I could only have one glock, it would be the 23 too. Thanks Hickok45!
njbrancoify 2 months ago
Would you recommend getting this? Or the Glock 19 for my first weapon? I'm going to use it for concealed carry.
Xevamir 2 months ago
@Xevamir -- The G19 and the G23 are almost identical in dimensions and weight so the conceal-ability and carry are the same. Your choice is the round you prefer. .40 S&W has become much more popular in law enforcement than 9mm due to higher 1-shot stopping performance in the field. If you need smaller/lighter, check out the G27. Awesome little weapon. Hickok's got a good video on it too. (IMO for a first weapon, a full frame is easier to learn on though.)

@Hickok45 Is .40 caliber ammo expensive?
cybertek3188 2 months ago
@cybertek3188 Depends on where you buy the ammo really. The only ammo you should be worried about being expensive is probally a 44 or a 30 cal. And I don't think you can buy 50 cal, you might be able to, but I don't know.

Is the gen 4 still having problems with the Glock 19 or 23? Or was that just the 1st batch of the new generation 4?
savator408 2 months ago
Hickock45, why is the Glock 23 your favorite? I have a G19 Gen 4 and want to get a G23 ASAP.
chadinvegas 2 months ago
Around 7:04 min, it looks like you're closing your right eye, & aiming using your left eye, while shooting right-handed. Your accuracy is excellent.

I love this video...where do you recommend that we buy ammo online? Can you recommend any websites? Thanks!

Yea Hickok I hear ya, it is amazing that we have that privilege to go out and buy guns, but that's how it should be! It's an amendment for god sakes!!!!!

I own a Ruger P95 9mm. I've shot over 5k rounds since I bought it in 08 and I swear I've never had a failure to fire. It's been the most reliable gun I've ever owned.

@HuiChyr It's a shame when you have to be a criminal to defend yourself.
vcMalice 4 months ago 21
@vcMalice The whole idea is "if everybody doesn't own a gun, you do not need one for self defense". But the REAL shame is we (the people) have to defend ourselves from the cops. Corrupt and trigger happy motherf*ckers.

@mattkletz13 Sounds good. First thing I'll do is to buy a GLOCK :) Sweeeet....
HuiChyr 1 month ago
@mattkletz13 But I guess I shouldn't forsake my country for a GLOCK. :) Wind of change is blowing this way. Politically, our country is moving to oust the current government this coming election. Our Opposition leader was acquitted in court from sodomy (rape) charges. The government cannot find other means to get rid of him hence cook up an absurd story. Once the Opposition sits in government, I am sure many politicians will be prosecuted for corruption.

How do you like the new texture on the grip? Planning on putting grip tape on the Gen4 as well or does the new texture work well enough without grip tape?
Great vid!
Thanks.

ExtreemeHabits 4 months ago
lol i did realy expected the glock still has got one bullit in the chamber and it will shoot at 8:00 and hits all the other bullets that gonna fire then lol
netacqouise 4 months ago
You are the wrong grandfather to rob from lol!
netacqouise 4 months ago
How are you enabled to load your magazines so easily. Do you shoot you guns constantly to loosten up the springs before your videos. I loaded a glock 23 with .40 S&W and once I got past the 7th or 8th round in the magazine I started to have to use a rediculous amount of force. The gun wasnt shot once so I figured the sping was just tense but I wasnt quiet sure.
reL3ntless4LiFe 4 months ago
@reL3ntless4LiFe load it fully than leave the mag loaded for a week or 2. you should see a big diff in the spring tension while putting those last few rd's in. i do this with all mybrand new mags
