@guvnahead84 i don't know the exact numbers offhand but I do remember reading that the R-2 had more drawbar pull than the Z6. I also remember seeing a chart in Trains Magazine showing that the R-2 had more drawbar pull than the UP Big Boy. To me, the R-2 was a lot better looking than the Z6, but not nearly as good as a Missabe M3.
@guvnahead84 I don`t know if you ever had your question answered, but the R2 had much more tractive effort than the Z6. The R2 was right up there with the most powerful locomotives such as the YB6 and the Yellowstones of DM&IR

Which one was bigger and/or more powerful in real life? The Z-6 ( 4-6-6-4) or the R-2 (2-8-8-2)?
