Oh, yes Bengt Hallberg is still around. He's only 77 and some! He's been playing professionally for 6 decades! He's as lovely as Teddy Wilson when he swings!
Gullin sure brings out the best in those musicians who've played with him. Stan here sounds tad better than he did in general with Mulligan. Sorry I keep comparing, I'm still reeling from knowing I have so little of Lars.
Tube rejected upload of an Atlantic label tune, the only one maybe that the mulligan franchise allowed? Atlantic used to be a good jazz label, had tons of konitz; moved over to some other I gather in a "think an Grow Rich" takeover of some sorts. Bummers.
Hi everybody! Watch my live footage with Bengt Hallberg in concert in Stockholm, Sweden. March 15th, 2011. Fabulous. /tom62ron

...mmm, different from Earl Bostic's version.
Bengt Hallberg always plays a proper melodic line - not a succession of bop phrases. I think he's still alive. Yes??

Born sept 13, 1932 in Göteborg, Sweden
And 1951 he was only, well 19 on this cut. Sorry to show him older! He was in younger days a Teddy Wilson and more!
