It really doesn't interest me what other people have to say about God or religion; I don't treat people with kindness due to a promise of paradise in the future, but rather for the small step you take towards it here and now. I remember all the times people took an interest in me, and helped me through things; it makes you feel like there is a heaven after all. Then I tried doing the same for others, and it felt equally amazing. Be a good person, have principles;you'll find life has meaning agen
You know what... God is what people think he is. Maybe people should just ask themselves who they are. God is God. No explainations, no questions. These songs are just another persons thoughts. I love Crash Test Dummies, always will. He is expressing how he feels. I think its great, I bet God doesnt mind it one bit. We will soon one day meet our maker... I cant wait, so I dont guess... I just go with the flow
The Dummies aren't a Christian band, no, but I think it's safe to say that they are a fairly spiritual band in the sense that they reach so much depth (or maybe a higher level) in their music.
It's humour. We never get a straight answer from God, which is why he doesn't sit and have picnics with us anymore. Humans would put him too much on the spot!
Shame on you for letting you sing into hell, it sounds like you want to go there. You want to bring that kingdom joy? Your voice should be heard, but why there?
@giventofly1789 that is just to show that this song will always be an absolute classic, just like the humble record player :) also, just like the sound quality of a record is unparraleled, so to is the quaility of original music and ideas... this speaks the CTD all over (its ashame i've ONLY just got into them)
I'm a metal head for the most part but I've always loved this band. The production value of the recording is fantastic and the compositions are impeccable!
fabulous. reminds me of my afternoons reading Anne Rice and eating sour cream and cheddar ruffles potato chips. sad to say but that was a new flavor at that time!! great worry free memories

Terrific song from a terrific album... Too bad they never did this well again. Robert's lyrics were quircky and fun without being pretentious.

This is playing slow. The original version of the song is a little faster than this.

I thought they were for a while since God is mentioned here and there throughout the album. Maybe it's just for fun.

I'm also a Winnipegger, and in St. James, too! Brad went to a different high school, though. This song sounds so celestial!

I just so totally love the idea of God sorta, kinda being nervous or pensive about questions. I think God would love this song.
