Yeah, tell me about it. I just blew 2 years and my life savings making a film and finding an audience is harder than anything! -I did a huge amount of work myself including directing, writing, producing, editing, special FX, storyboarding etc to keep costs down. I've just been accepted in the Cannes SFC festival this year, so fingers crossed it will get that elusive audience!

This seems like an easy solution.

Just tell the distributor that the investor needs a POF as much as they do. Do the same for the investor.

This happens all the time and they know it.  If they aren't willing to play ball, then they probably weren't serious to begin with.

I'm currently a highschool senior that wants to get into the animation/vfx industry (hopefully moving to LA in 2 years, fingers crossed), so these shows are a really good look to see how the industry works. I really appreciate all this, hopefully I'll get to do some of my own shorts someday

Thanks siegroxxor01! The reality is that I simply don't have enough time to push or market this series. First, I got my job. Next, I'm making this movie. And finally, I barely have enough time to make these confessions! SO BY ALL MEANS, SPREAD THE WORD, MAN!!! It's more important that I get this movie made and authentically document my journey than to market a viral web-series like this with no genuine substance. I'm hoping the "word will spread" naturally at the right time, you know?

I think that in the process of telling us about the ups and downs of making your movie ... you are making your movie. It may not be what you have imagined your movie to be, but CIF is a terrific cliff hanger series for youtube. Even if your animation never gets complete (which would be a shame) this bit that you are creating is compelling, engaging, funny, creative, surprising, etc. I hope your movie gets made. But even if it doesn't you should be proud of CIF.
